yep! well i dont live in america and ireland dont sell talkboxes. the yamaha DX100 is around 22 years old so cannot buy it anymore in the shops but can get em on ebay, check out djmpacts talkbox basics video, i know its long but helps you in what you are looking for. the rocktron banshee has the built in amplifier so would recomend that

I just bought the banshee myself and was surprised to find all the good talk box tones that an old crappy casio practice keyboard had on it. It was $30 at a pawn shop and it had been sitting in my closet for years. Not everyone needs a DX100...

your right...when i started asking around about keyboards people told a cheap casio would work but i found they didnt have a pitch wheel and modulation wheel which are needed..as well as a programmable synth sounds. so they might sound close but prolly wont get the clarity or a programmable.

i bought mine with a bad RAM battery for $175. it still turned on but i couldnt program it..$40 later it was fixed. i got mine from googling dx100 for sale and found it at Harmony Central or some shit like that. it was signed by Keith Emerson whoever that is..but i accidently rubbed it off while playing.lol.

you definitly need output..wierd how the board dont have it.lol. i dont have a input on my board only midi in and out. but i use the output for wire that goes to the talkbox itself. but if the output is broke or worn out or something i dont see why it couldnt be fixed=]

i think teddy uses lyrisyn sound in the dx100..that was the only sound i could get to sound just like his.

yea... I put down the casio pretty quickly. Now I'm using a midi controller that has a pitch and mod wheel with Reason 4 (and some other software) and creating my own synth patches through Reason. Seems to be working really well. I also happened to have the midi keyboard already. Just trying to save money . :-P maybe a dx100 in the future...

rocktron banshee for now. no not juyst the dx100, it can be many different programmable synth keyboards.. sounds like your on the right path with yamaha..pitch wheel and modulation wheel are a must as well as programmable.

keyboard produces sound thru the tube making the tube a speaker. put the tube in my mouth and make words playing the notes like my own voice box. produce sounds with your mouth like

"S" and "P" "L" and whatever other sounds the keyboard cannot produce.
