we've got an oak tree in moon pa (by the pittsburgh airport ) that looks to be bigger in diameter. Iam going to measure it this weekend and send out a video. Now i dont know who decides these things, but I wanna say its the biggest oak in Pa.

That is definitely a cottonwood. I am amazed that a softwood tree grew so huge! I sell firewood harvested from my land. Even fresh cottonwood splits really quickly with an axe. When you think about ice, snow, wind on such a fragile tree... Absolutely amazing it lasted so long!

@CarlLewenski It is not only large in diameter, but very tall. It is much taller than the nearby trees, so it is amazing nothing has blown it over. It is a very healthy looking tree.

I know the tallest tree in the world is 155.5 meters in height. How tall does an Aussie tree get? How big does an Aussie tree get? Does a "heap" have a specific value? Just curious.
