  • mate srsly :D trust me these two mistakes are not bad ... i think they make the piece sound more individual .. i like it & love the way u play *_*

  • I constantly bug my friend to play this song because its a song that puts a different kind of emotion in me. Its a well arranged piece and I thank you for putting this on youtube.

  • I'm addicted to this song now...! You play it so good that I feel wanna cry listening to your cover. Thank u..

  • Cheers

  • I cant find the tab for guitar anywhere :(

  • Epic *_*

  • so dificult

  • @1222JHON1222 i learnt a little part of it (; by myself, on my grandma's piano (:

  • My Mom played this as a lullaby for me as a kid... statistically, whenever I hear it, my HR drops to about 70 and (normally) I'm asleep almost immediately. Awesome relaxation tool.

  • When you learn about the piece's background, it becomes all more enchanting. Beautiful job, I'm going to start learning right now :DDD

  • You play this piece very well and your piano has a wonderful sound. Love it <3

  • you play it very well ! ı like this song. ı love it :)

  • Welll...you played a lot of it wrong. When it starts playing the harmony notes at about 0:56 you played 3rd intervals when they should have been 6ths /watch?v=T_ViGY67MY4&feature=related#t=1m50s

    you can see it there

  • @cassie10255 o_o umad? calm down xD it wasn't exactly a mistake in the sense that he didn't play what he intended to, he had the notes wrong, and i was only hopefully helping him find out what the right notes were so he could play the song as closely similar to the original as possible.

  • @tarantularose Hey, hey, hey, it still sounded pretty.

  • @catrox64 i didn't say it didn't...i just said it sounded wrong and was wrong mate

  • There are certain stages in the music that makes me think of glad, sad, scared, and it ends on a very happy note; I like to pair it with Thomas Cole's 4 stages of life!

THANKS FOR A W0NDERFUL PIECE OF MUSIC!

  • This is such a beautiful piece! I have just started learning it! I am so glad that I came across it on youtube :D

  • Beautiful! You play this song so well! I am trying to learn, and your playing has helped me greatly. Thanks so much, bravo!

  • This is amazing, thank you so much for posting it. I'm currently learning how to play this song and it's nice to see it being played. So thank you for not only a beautifully played song, but also for the help. :-)

  • i also play this piece when i want a break from studying :)

  • Beautiful work sir!

  • Very nice. You hit a clunker note at 3:46 - other than that, great!

  • Very nice ,i m working on this piece now too ;)

  • Wonderful, this song is the most epic. This song makes me cry because its so good.

  • I can play this! it's rlly fun!

  • Damm you play sooo GOOD! im 14&iLOVE David Lanz, &iOnly know the first 40 Secs, and iDont know almost nothin about the piano, only the letters xD But im learning this by trying to see which keys you play and also by ear(: Hope i learn from this:D

  • I have been browsing youtube for piano solos to play and I think this one is sure to win over the audience. Thanks for posting and feeding my inspiration! I am 17 and have been playing the piano for 11 years now all self taught and though it is a little plain, sometimes less is more, which in this case it is. In short, so long Fur Elise, I am playing Cristofori's Dream.

  • Two tiny mistakes? Well no one noticed them or even cared to notice them while listening to this. Very very well done. I'm 15 and I play piano strictly by ear and I've decided by my 16th birthday I will have taught myself this. I could read sheet music but I just might do your version instead :)

  • my hand really hurt when ım doing the part in 2:57

  • Can u teach me how to read sheet music... Please.. I really want to be good like you.. thank you...

  • Played perfectly, bravo.

  • i love it!!!!!!!! I will play this at my recital!! I can't wait more

  • Very well executed! You can certainly feel the emotion and personal attachment to this piece. It being sentimental to you definitely shows!

I don't pay compliments very easily, but just had to after seeing this.

    BRAVO!

  • Tutorial please!!!

  • I am learning to play this song. I am 13, and I have already decided that I want this song played at my funeral. By the way, amazing job on the song. I couldn't tell the difference between that and the actual song.

  • Hi - Very nicely done. Hard to tell the difference between your rendition and the recording. Thank you for sharing.

  • thanx to you ı am learning this song ı finished first 3rd page and ı putting the video and playing with it you play wonderful :D:D

  • I love this song. Is really beautiful. Excelent job :D

  • Love this song. My Mom listened to a David Lanz cassette tape when she was in labor & delivering me. She said she remembers hearing this song come on right after I was born. It holds a special place in our hearts :)

    WELL DONE!

  • I love this piece, It is sentimental to me as well. When I was little, after my mother put me to sleep, she would jump on the grand piano and play this. Wonderful!

  • If my life were a movie, this would be the song for the credits.

  • just breath taking :))

  • Tutorial please!

  • so the first time i heard dis i was about 9. my daddy had played it for me. i had already started piano lessons by then and truthfully i hated piano. but when i heard this song i really wanted to learn it. so at first i tried to play it by ear since i didnt know how to read music well at all. then i just gave up on it. i am 17 now and i have been practicing piano one again and now i can play the whole piece fairly well. i thank me daddy for keeping me in piano :D <3

  • when you finished playing...i was seriously waiting for the applause. then i realized i wasnt at a concert hall and started to clap myself.

  • your playing brought me to tears, it was so beautiful.

  • Ok, you played that just a little to well.

  • Breathtaking!!

  • that was great

  • Calbee I would also be very grateful if you can rendition more of these sentimental/soulful pieces (I know you've already have a few in your collection like River flows in you and Mariage D'Amour but I can't get enough of it). Once again, thank you for introducing me and others to this beautiful piece. I await eagerly for more renditions alike. =) Cheers.

  • Hey calbee I read your home page on how you go about learning piano and it's very inspiring. I just have a couple of questions. Once you learned how to read music sheets, do you go straight to playing this piece, and just keep practicing it? or is it better to play some simpler songs first? And also, how many hours did you practice each day? I really want to learn piano so I can play this song and also Mariage D'Amour. I hope it doesn't take me 5 years =(.

  • you play really well and i want to learn it but i can't access the sheet music...

  • a hole. play it at a faster tempo

  • 13 dislike...why?

  • @TheSeeked Idiots

  • I love this song! This piece sounds really familiar. When I heard it for the first time I felt like I've heard it before. If that makes any sense whatsoever haha.

  • This is a beautiful peace. David Lanz is quite the music artist. You play it beautifully, thank you for posting this video. I am teaching myself how to play the piano, and i'm in the prosses of learning this song. It is my favorite song on the piano, and you play it well. I may not be a piano expert, but i can tell when something sounds amazing.

  • Nice... I learned something similar to that... Any idea what it is? It's driving me crazy!

  • @MyIvyStar you can find it pretty easily for free online.

  • This is beautiful, amazing job. This song gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it, and the first time I heard it I almost cried. I am now trying to learn this song by ear, but sheet music would be much easier, do you know where I can find it?

    Beautiful performance :)

You have played it here with great feeling and depth. Thank you. No doubt, it is therapeutic to break from studies and immerse ones' self in beauty. Tho your studies must be complete now, I hope you're still playing, and will share more of your talent. I am learning it now by ear with the help of your video ... thank you again!

  • Hi,

    you're fantastic!

Can you give me the notes??

  • This is my most favorite classical song. You did a good job:)

  • I don't think that it is boring to listen to, well, that is probably because I am usually playing it, not listening!

  • I played piano from the time I was 8 until I was 18. I recently started playing again due to problems with depression. This is the first song I turned to. I listened to this song on the Narada compilation CD that my parents had growing up. I am now 23 btw. This is an incredibly difficult song to play and I give you major props!

  • Incredible! Fantastic! Beautiful!

  • Not enough fast cars and explosions for you?

  • Let's be fair here. It is certainly a beautiful and moving piece, and the performer clearly performed it well enough (although some parts need more shaping), but there are parts of this piece that I wish were shorter. Mark of a good piece of music is that it's not boring to the audience. When a music is boring, is it really the audience's fault for not being sophisticated enough, or the composer's fault for not being creative enough?

  • I don't concider 6:35 to be that long, though. There's a longer version than this. I just don't understand how people can be bored by it, although everyone, I suppose, has their own style and taste when it comes to music, but if this type of music does not suit you, why would you then click on this video? It boggles the mind... Obviously I am not asking you directly, but "sinepecunia".

  • I clicked because it's nonsensical to discuss any piece of music without at least listening to it, even if it's critical.

I suppose I did come off too strongly. Music, I think, is a conversation between the composer, the musician(s), and the listener. It takes all three for it to work, but I've felt in the past the listener tends to receive the most flak for "not getting" a piece of music.

  • You're very talented, and I love this piece!

I'm not very well educated on classical music or sheet music, or, really, any kind of music, but I know when I like something, and I love this : )

  • wow your video is almost 3 years old and i still cant get enough of it :D

I hope you can continue to post even more songs on youtube on the piano :P

    from Felix

  • Perfect!!

  • Very nicely and sensitively played. Bravo!

  • So beautiful.... wonderful... ****5

    With Love,

  • The piano sounds vibrant, and you play this with great feeling for the pauses at the end of each phrase. A lovely balance between your hands as well and this is so enjoyable to listen to! Very Well Played!

  • You're very welcome. I have genuine enthusiasm for sharing such treasure among my friends. As you see! And you can also see how lovely they are in friendship, based on the sensitivity and regard they have each had for your work. And even their graciousness in acknowledging me for bringing you to their attention. All because Judy Esther shared this video with me! : ) I love your other covers as well. best wishes, ~Terry

  • Your playing ist absolutly fantastic, you put soooo a lot of heart into that..... awesome.

    Bless you.

  • Sometimes, when I hear a cover played by a, for me not well known musician, I struggle with myself, do I prefer the original or the cover.

In this case I prefer your performance!

This is absolutely beautiful and you deserver every single star I can give you here!

  • Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful... played with a lovely soft touch and emotions. 5***** and thanks for sharing,

  • Thank you dear Terry for sharing this dream!

  • Dear Jonathan, I wish to express my deepest respect for your eloquent performance of this enchanting piece, and warm wishes from a new subscriber/listener in South Florida. Perhaps next time I can call you Jonny as you wish, but this was too elegant to forfeit the appeal of your formal name! : ) ~Terry (tempting to say Theresa for once but don't wish to confuse you!)

  • Thanks for sharing that beautiful piece --- theresa and jonathan, nice ! :-)

  • Thanks so much for sharing this treat, Terry! :)

  • very, very precise

    Wow. Im pretty impressed:)

    Good Job

  • I learned this piece in a weekend. I don't even play piano properly, I found the sheet music and it's a lot simpler than it looks. It's pretty muck 4 different chords in the first section and 5 or 6 in the second. Really quite simple. I just couldn't stop playing it.! My parents hate it when I play it now because I've played it too much. :) Calbee219 - You're my idol.! Thanks.

  • i really love this song!

my hands are small, so my only problem is trying to play the octaves throughout the piece.

    :)

  • I have the same problem, and my fingers in the middle sometimes hit extra keys and make it sound bad...

  • Perfect man! Not a single note out of place! Thanks for sharing it with us

  • it is sooo wonderful

    i love it

  • good job, nice :)

  • really nice that you did it.

  • This song is so close to my heart. My father used to play it all the time to put me to sleep. He was an artist on the piano. He passed away 5 years ago, and I have always wanted to learn to play it, so I can teach my children. Thanks for putting it up on youtube. I've been trying to learn from your video how to play it. Keep on playing!

  • if you REALLY want to play cristoforis dream then download synthesia then download a midi of cristoforis dream

thats how im learning it right now and im up to 50 seconds on this video of what ive learned

  • Read the information, it says it was written and created by David Lanz. He is the composer of the song. You can find him on itunes or on CD in pretty much any cd store.

The album is also called Christofori's Dream. Not sure if I spelled that right. It is an old song, and very good one at that. First time I heard it was early 90's.

Nice work for the person playing it. Sounds excellent.

  • You are REALYY good at piano!!!

This is the best I've heard!!

  • this piece of music reminds me of the song while my guitar gently weeps.

  • Mi Espanol no es tan bieno que degamos.

Me tambien, talgual que tu escrivistes(algo as si. :/)

    Quiero prende todo este.

Tambien que es ear-me? Nunca cuche.

  • I think you are trying to say:

My Spanish isn't too good (Mi español no es muy bueno, que digamos),

Me too, like what you wrote (Yo también, igual que tú dijiste, (algo así)

Also, what is ear- me? I never heard that.

También, que es "ear me"? Nunca lo había escuchado.

P.S. With "ear- me", I think andeitakiki means "hear me, listen to me" or something of the sort.

  • En englise, tu dehestes, "bery". Para correectar, es "very".

Si, tengo problemas para esribi en espanol, mas para hablar e todo eso.

  • were did I put "bery" ? Sorry, I'm not sure. And, about "correectar", its "corregir". "esribi" = "escribir". And "englise" = ingles, "dehestes" = "Dijiste"

  • Wow, this is a great job dude, haha.

I had been trying to learn this by ear and was doing great until the 2:14 mark in this vid, haha. anyway, the sheets are really helpful too, im finding. so thanks for the whole package, lol. you really do do a great job with it.

    respect

if you want you can try kiss the rain by yiruma it's very difficult but i think you get it

  • I love this song. You do such a great job on it. I have been working on it for months to memorize the song. I have small hands so the octaves are difficult as well. I find if you use the very tip of the keys it works better for small hands. But you did a great job on the song.

  • I have such a hard time with the octaves because my hands are so small...

  • me too! i can just barely stretch an octave!

  • Comment removed

  • i know what you mean! and yea when i see him with those fingers, it looks so effortless hes so lucky lol
