  • Most are here for Legolas ^_^

  • @vegananimalobsession I'm here for Gimli :):):)

  • i would happily pay £150 to have the complete full length with all the scenes they took out

  • thumbs up if you would sell your soul to these scenes :P

  • and burning the unused footage of LOTR is like sacriledge to a &*%#§@$ Christian

  • if LOTR had a length of 50 hours, I'd still forget about sleeping while watching those movies.

and I'd still watch 'em over and over and over and over and over and over again

  • @gothickevain me too, watching and reading ^_^

  • If Peter Jackson did LOTR in like 20 45 minute episodes with all the same budget and actors, man how FREAKING EPIC

  • This is in the appendices of Return of the King extended edition, I believe. Some day, Peter and the studios will probably include this in an ultimate set as deleted scenes.

  • why didn't they add ALL the footage into the EXTENDED version O_O ?? ,, I want more Legolas please :)

  • i would do anything to watch the unscene part of the two towers when legolas shoots an arrow under gimlies legs and hits the urck-i

  • @GiniBaggins where and when did you hear that?? I would pay good money to see that!!! :)

  • what disc is this on? In what one too please and thanks

  • @iloveSiriusandJames If i remember correctly it's on the bonus dvd of ROTK extended edition. Not sure if disc 1 or 2.

  • @loveatrej thank you very much

  • @loveatrej thank you sooo much!!!

  • @loveatrej Actually it'd be either 3 or 4; discs 1 and 2 are the movie. ;) I remember seeing this...but I don't recall where you find it at. That's why you just watch all the special features. ;)

  • Legolas is even hotter than always, look at his hair, god

I never saw a carachter like that, he is just rubbing him self on my brain for 10 years!

  • I would ... I dont know what I would do, almost anything if I would be able to get to see those scenes.

  • Oh my gosh. I would pay so much for this stuff! Come on, New Line - this is easy money! And Legolas looks so great with his hair just down, no warrior braids, a lot more casual! Why did they burn it??? :O

  • Were on the dvd set is this clip?

  • @sophiethenovelist I know :'( I saw it happening in one of the extended or limited DVD's. It made me really sad =(

  • god orlando looked hot in that scene xD

  • Let's see:

*What happened to Legolas & Gimli

*The wedding of Éowyn & Faramir

*The time Aragorn & Arwen spent in Lórien

*All the cut Arwen scenes, such as the one with Galadriel in Lórien, with the Hobbits in Rivendell, and at least two scenes with Elrond in Rivendell: in the library and on the bridge

*The abandoned storyline about Arwen in Helm's Deep (I'm curious)

    *anything else I'm forgetting

PJ, how much? My soul? Here, take it, take it! I NEED MY PRECIOUSSSSSS....!!!

  • @Feanorielle

They cut all this scenes out of the movie? Well, I guess the movie would be much longer...5 hours? XD

Thats not fair. I have the special extented edition, but I want this scenes too!

Legolas looks so pretty in this scene.

  • @Feanorielle :OOO NOOO not the arwen at helms deep storyline, gosh, that would destroy my entire lotr-world, theyve gone away from the books enough about her

  • @Alycla I agree, it's was an awful idea and I'm glad they chose to rewrite the whole thing. However, I'd be curious to see the scenes they filmed - not as part of the movie, but as separate deleted scenes in the extras. Especially the scene with Arwen and Galadriel together in Lórien. (She has quite pretty dress in that scene too. ;D)

  • @Feanorielle ah wow, the lorien one <3 now you made me interested again haha

  • @Feanorielle

    this x1000

  • @Feanorielle And the abandoned goblin attack on Lothlorien

  • iv got the extended editions of the movies and of all the hours and hours of additional content of behing the scenes making they didnt include the most basic feature of any DVD...... THE DELETED SCNENES!!!!!! Why peter WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ah no~~~ what a pity that they didn't put those in... TT^TT

  • I wish they had a special DVD with all the scenes like this. Yes, I already own the unedited version, but thats STILL edited. *sighs* I guess this is a sigh of being addicted to Lord of the rings. lol

  • If only they'd stuck this in there. I love seeing him in his natural state of non-warriorness. But the hobbit hugging was needed, as the story is about Frodo. Maybe if Orlando agrees to The Hobbit, we'll get more Legolas awesome (even if it's not in the book).

  • @piratchick97

...why not just read the fucking book?

  • @EatMyPwn

I've read the book asswipe. Why can't I want to see those end scenes come to life on screen? Yeah, the book is always better than the movies, but I can have a fucking opinion. Get over it.

  • @piratchick97

Clearly, we're all allowed to have an opinion. And my opinion is that you're a fucking idiot, since clearly you don't have the imagination to be satisfied by literature. You need flashy images.

So there. You defensive, presumptuous dickweed.

  • @EatMyPwn

Oh name calling and an attempt to sound profound. I'm not presuming anything. I just expressed myself as a fan of the movies. I'm not sure why you bother to comment if it upsets you so much and if we "clearly are allowed to have an opinion." Waste of everyone's time.

  • Are these scenes anywhere in Youtube? I'm so desperate to see Legolas' story. :P

  • ai ai Legolas is so sexy in that scene! why didn't they include it?

  • legolas is so sexy

  • why didn't they add this scene Dx? I always wanted to find out about what happened to Legolas and Gimli, it would have been so epic! why why why why why why why >.<?

  • They're stupid like we don't care if it's to long I wanted to see what happend to ALL the Fellowship and I wonder if the shot when Legolas and Gimli traveling together :)

  • @lovesick15 well, basic info, but Gimli and Legolas stayed in Middle Earth until Aragorn's death, then, due to their friendship, Legolas built a ship that carried them to The Grey Havens. Gimli was the only Dwarf allowed to do that.

  • @pianolar Thanks !

  • It wasnt even in the extended edition

  • i know alot of people thought the ending was too long, but damn, i wish it was longer, i wanned to see what happened to all of them. the lord of the rings can't be too long. wish this was in the movie.

  • @azzan360 completely agree, I mean i watched it countless of times, and it still feels like the first time even if was 100 hours long i would love it

  • did legolas look older, or is it just me a the not so good quality of the vid?

  • Where is this scene? I have the Return of the King Special Edition, but what disk is this on? If you know, please tell me cuz I'm dying to watch it!!!

  • pete thinks he will do a 25th lotr dvd edition - heard him talkin on the commentary

  • wow! is this scene exist in extended edition? why I didn't find this one? :(

  • i found it. it is on the 3rd dick of the RofK under from book to skript towards the end

  • wait! what did happen to legolas? like he said 'what happened to legolas" what happened? cuz I really want to know now, can anyone fill me in?

  • he was amazed by the beauty in Ithilien and moved there with a group of elves from his home after the war of the ring ended.

he remained there until aragorn died, in the fourth age, and went with gimli on the very last ship to leave middle earth for the lands beyond

  • @Alycla thanks!

  • @Alycla any lotr fan knows that. but none was sed he movie there with a group of elvs from his home.

  • @lotrhpnmask i just answered a question, and if youve read the book you know this is what happened to him

  • @Alycla i have red the book more them one time, the book never stated he moved there with some otherr mirkwood elvs.

  • @lotrhpnmask Appendix A, III, p. 360 : A colony was settled in Ithilien by the Elves of Mirkwood and former residents of Elven kingdoms in the north, welcomed there by Legolas, and "it became once again the fairest country in all the westlands",

and Appendix B : After the fall of Sauron, Legolas brought elves from Greenwood, and they dwelt in Ithilien, and once again it became the fairest country in all the westlands.

    and so on

  • @Alycla i have seen the book odd alycla, its not in any one of the books iv seen. maube i should get a one of a kind book and see if its in there.

  • @Alycla it is not written like that in any book, legolas guided the north mirkwood elvs to lthilien and the guided elvs lived there. then, it became the faiest realm in the lands.

  • @lotrhpnmask was that not exactly what i was saying?

  • @Alycla no, it was not, no word pointed legolas moved there.

  • @lotrhpnmask he lived there with elves from his fathers kingdom until aragorn died, then went with gimli over the sea

  • @Alycla the book does not state that, so theree is no words that state legolas moved there himself, so you can not say he lived there! so case closed, no proven written or other that legolas lived there!!

  • @lotrhpnmask whats your problem? have you even read the appendixes? if youd have youd understand what a fool youre making of yourself!

hell, they were even going to include it in the movie! they wouldnt make up such a thing and if youd just read around youd come to the same conclusion

  • @Alycla i think toy need help. i have seen that more then one time, more like more then 100 times. the i can see clearly the part where legolas see's it but no word ANYWHERE in the book states he moved there. THE e.o.m.e. group has proven he had never moved there!!!

  • @lotrhpnmask haha, like ive said before, the appendixes. ok?

but seriously if you think that little information of him moving to ithilien ruins your entire imaginative world of arda then feel free to ignore it. this thing called imagination... it can change EVERYTHING for you personaly ^^ great isnt it? but it cant change written fact. however you can choose to ignore it.

  • @Alycla

by order of the eome group your consiterd foe of middle-earth for-ever till the end of time"or you gane fact in that ficton mind of yours"

  • This so should have been in the film..thank you for posting it Manders.

  • can sombody put this video on you tube so i can see what they are talking about legolas and gimli

  • I love the appendices of the books. I learned Elvish from them.

But I love the Silmarillion more :D

  • urgh is there anymore raw footage

  • gimli and legolals go to the place gandalf and frodo go to after aragon dies in day 129 of the fourth age

  • READ THE BOOK. It's better than sex.

  • lol, yeah, far better and much longer :)

oh, it's killing me that these scenes were not included

i don't get people who criticize PJ for not being able to transform the books into a movie language, i think he did a tremendously good job

it's true that the books have a different style but the message is the same and i really like the visual aspect of the movies, even though i picture Middle-earth rather differently which is the best thing about books, plenty of room left for your imagination

  • Lol! Thats probably true tbh.

  • @TheTupacolypse No it is not. It is a good book, but certainly not better than sex.

  • @Spartanhoplit It totally Is¬!

  • @TheTupacolypse rotfl

  • @TheTupacolypse Totally agreed

  • There are so many scenes that haven't made it to the movie. I would pay for a dvd with all un-used scenes!!! :D

  • @GiniBaggins They burned all of the unused footage. It can be seen on the extended extras. So we will never ever see those scenes.

  • @mai1992

They burned all the unused footage...?

Dude we just saw a couple scenes right there!:)

  • @GiniBaggins I heard that Peter Jackson said that one time he would release all the movies, with ALL the scenes they made (:

  • This is so cool!!!! I love Gimli and Legolas!!!

  • I wish I could wacht all those scenes which didn't make even to the extended edition.

  • legolas is too gorgeous! (sigh) i wish he were real lol

  • why just not make like he is real? in your imagination? surely it is more creative than a film..

  • Legolas in Ithilien. Oh god, he's just TOO pretty. Love the shirt and the hair and the new sword. (Although that forest looks suspiciously like Lorien, haha.)

  • ah legolas is just too beautiful

  • Does the limited editions of the movies have any more deleted/extended scenes then just the extended versions?

You know I wish they hadn't took out those scenes, cuz if I really like a movie, I don't care how a long a great movie is I'd watch it!!

  • Such a shame they scrapped all that footage, I'd LOVE to see Legolas walking around in Ithillien as a 'normal' elf. Just those few seconds were absolutly beautiful!

  • lotr 1 or 2 or 3 ?

  • After Aragorn is crowned king.

  • ok.. so is this from the extended edition? and if no.. where?.. is it in Limited edition?

  • So this scenes are not on the Extended edition, is this all they show?

I could watch ten hours of the lord of the rings and never get tired....so it baffles me how they could take out that scene from the ending *tear*

  • is this on the Return of the King LE? i'd like to see the rest of what he's saying...

WHY ISN'T THIS IN THE MOVIE!? one thing i always liked about LotR was the relationship that Gimli and Legolas have. they start out being enmies... then they become friends and travel Middle-Earth together. i loved that.

  • :-O Legolas looks so beautiful there!

Whyyyyyyy was this cut from the film???

  • waaa i whaned to see this so much in the movie:(((

  • I wanted to see this! We never see Legolas with his hair down! I also thought that Legolas and Gimli travelling together was so cute!

  • Wow! I would have killed to have this in the movie. it's like we got endings for everybody but those two, if you know the books then you know what happend if you didn't read them then your left wondering..that was awesome thank you!

  • Whats this section called on the dvd?

  • I was 7 when i readed this book and i quickly liked Legolas. I always looked for what happend to him and Gimli. Then i saw the movie and made me want to know even more. Than i saw the extended edition and the special features and saw this part. I hated PJ for not letting it in the movie! I just can't wait for The Hobbit. Hope Legolas in in there!

  • Legolas isnt gonna be in the hobbit but gimlis dad ( gloin) is gonna be in it and other guys too.

  • isnt legolas dad also gona be in it :P

  • yh i think so i think gandalf is gonna be in it and also isildur and elrond. i hope legolases dad will be init legolas is my faviroute in this film

  • Isn'r Legolas son of the Mirkwood King? And the Mirkwood elves are most definitely in The Hobbit (The book, anyway).

  • yh i no their in the book but THE HOBBIT is about bilbo's adventures and i dont think legolas was in his adventures gandalf was elrond was and i think isildur was.

  • Isildur was dead by the time of The Hobbit. Long dead. There's no way he could show up in it.

  • Gandalf and Bilbo are the cnetral characters of the Hobbit. Gollum plays an important but small role, Thranduil (LG's father) is also important and they MIGHT bring Legolas in as a cameo, as he would have been old enough at the time to attend his father's courtroom and to fight in the whopper of a battle that comes at the end ^^

  • Isnt it Ithilien? he becomes the leader of the Elves in Ithilien to heal the forest until they eventually sail or fade. Or maybe when he gets to Valinor. he sails in the end with Gimli...hmmm they should have put a little more of that in the extras. :) wouldve settled the confusion.

  • i think this is actually in Fangorn- remember he and Gimli had that bet about going to Fangorn and the glittering caves. Gimli's clearly in the caves, so it would make sense that Legolas is in Fangorn.

But it's pretty either way. :)

  • it is not in fangorn, but in the forest of lorien...you can see that cause of the falling golden leaves and the dress of legolas

  • it's the wrong type of trees to be Lorien. i believe it actually IS Ithilien...

but i could be wrong. the trees don't look like the mallron...

  • this is possible...he was made a sentinel of ithilien (or something similar) by king elessar in the fourth age

    ..i think..?

  • How does he do that?? All he has to do is look around and he has me breathing fast....They really needed to keep that clip of Orlando in the movie.

  • No they didnt. They couldnt just pop 4 seconds of legos in the scene just randomly. They would have to get gimli and some other guys in there too to let it be sort of sequence and they had to score music to it. To much work

  • He kinda looks like Glorfindel in BFME2 and especially the cover when he's slashing. Except Legolas' hair is blond and Glorfindel's is silver which matches his awesome silver armor.

  • Hey! My english isn't very good. This man speaks to fast for me! :-) Can someone write it down for me, what he says? Thanks!

  • "We had to reduce it down a lot to what it was. It was actually quite a lot longer at one stage. There were huge amounts of people who were in doubt. I mean, what happened to Gimli and what happened to Legolas? There were scenes shot of those people. We sort of..."

  • man orlando looks fit thea

    (:

  • this shot is not in the movie only on the special DVD...

  • Yeah, I know. I thought I mentioned that in the Description? *thinks*

  • Its not in the special DVD either man

  • Yes it is. not in de movie but it's on the special dvd (behind the scenes)

  • behind the scenes yes. Its where this vid is from. I thought you ment the legolas sequence in the movie.

  • @youtuyevideos which dick is it

  • bloody hell that elve is beautiful!

    so prettyyyyy

  • oh yeah i remember reading that after aragorn's death, legolas built a ship and sailed with gimli to the west. that was the one thing i looked forward to seeing in rotk, but sadly it didn't show since the movie's more focused on frodo and the ring.

  • dude, where'd you find this clip I want to see the whole thing!

  • theyre beautiful!

  • Legolas with his hair down, wow, makes him look even more beautiful.

If they are going to make The Hobbit, and Orlando will be in it...I do hope that there's going to be scenes with him like in this clip....

  • Hopefully any appearances by LOTR characters unmentioned in the book will be kept to essentially cameos, and even those only if credible: Arwen with Elrond in Rivendell, Legolas with Thranduil in Mirkwood, and *maybe* Gimli showing up with Dain at the Battle of Five Armies. But anything else would be a stretch.

  • MassCityGent, I agree with you. But I hink Legolas being with his father at the Battle of Five Armies would make *perfect* sense. Of course such a scene was not in the book (I am a canon person, believe me) since JRR created young Thranduilion after he wrote the Hobbit. I mean, Thranduil was with Oropher at Last Alliance, where Oropher fell and Thranduil managed to save other Greenwood Elves. So Thranduil's son would follow his father into battle as well. Just my idea.

  • I wish they used this! We never see Legolas's hair down! And just to see him in that magnificent tunic again!

  • Wow, he's pretty.

  • Legolas with his hair down...OH MY GOD!! He's so..beautiful. I wished this scene was in the movie..imagine how the whole female population in the theater would react..thehee..

  • Where did you find this?? Is it on the Extended ROTK DVD??

  • I never seen this scene in the extended DVD. Not in the movie and not in the extra. I think this is bad. I want this scene in the movie!

Legolas looks really cool. I know that there is an other scene with Aragorn they have cut and is not on the DVD.

  • why do you call it "Legolas Footage in Ithilien" i think it is in Mirkwood and not Ithilien, because Mirkwood is his home

  • Because at the end of the book, he creates an Elven colony near Gondor, called Ithilien.

  • really?? i dont remeber that part! just got dont with the last book and it said he traveled with Gimli then left for the Grey Havens i am soo confused

  • It's in the Appendix, it says what happens to the fellowship after the war.

  • They didnt go to grey havens..there was no ships or people.

Legolas maked boat, and Gimli coemd with to Valinor.

  • ohh that makes sence or however u spell it

  • He created a colony in Ithilien, not called Ithilien. Ithilien had been called that for thousands of years: Ithilien and Anorien were the two central parts of Gondor, on the east and west banks of the Anduin. Ithilien, like Isildur, was named for the Moon, and first ruled by him from Minas Ithil, the Tower of the Moon, eventually seized by the Witch-King and renamed Minas Morgul, Tower of Sorcery. Likewise with the Sun: Anorien, ruled by Anarion from Minas Anor, later Minas Tirith.

  • MassCityGent, I do agree, but in Appendix A, it says: "Legolas also brought south Elves out of Greenwood (Mirkwood had already been re-named after the fall of Sauron again)and they dwelt in Ithilien, and it became once again the fairest country in all the westlands." Legolas' colony in the southern part of Ithilien is still called Ithilien, there is no other name, and he would be adressed as "Legolas Thranduilion, Prince of Eryn Lasgalen, Lord of Ithilien". Ithilien does not change its name.

  • in the book legolas brenged some elves to ithilien, toghether with the gondorians they populated that area of the kingdom of gondor

  • i know, but if this is Ithilien, were is the gondorians then? people don't know it is ithilien if they can't see it

  • yea but still it is a forest not a huge metropolla:D

  • where can I find this on my RotK dvd? I searched everything but can find it...

  • damn they should make a new movie jus showing what happened to the rest of the characters.

  • did he get haldir's sword?

  • I hate this. Why my replies always pop to the top and never appear under the message I'm trying to reply?

Oh what ever. *drools Leggies honey-like hair*

Watching this makes me (again) wish to be an Elven maiden, dancing somewhere in the backround. :P

  • What would you dance to?

  • what is this under in the thrid one

and what is the disc 3 or 4?

  • By the Valar, people, we should really, indeed, ask PJ for a special-director's-final-double-or-triple-extended-edition of the movies *drools all over her laptop* There are still soooo many good scenes hidden in PJs secret LotR movie basket........and this one, well, should be in Ithilien. The reason is simple: If it were Fangorn, he would wear his travel gear and warrior braids to make travelling easier. This seems to be normal braidless royal regalia for the Lord of Ithilien *droooool*.......

  • I wish they'd kept this in! We've never seen Leggy's hair free from those braids and this looks perfect!

  • I think it is the fangorn!

He promised gimli to visit the Glittering Caves of Aglarond with him!

And then Gimli go to the Fangorn with Legolas!

  • Ithilien. He's in Ithilien. After the War of the Ring he took Elves from Mirkwood and and led them to Ithilien, becoming their Prince.

At least from the minute I first saw this clip I took it fro granted that that's what this scene is all about. After all it was supposed to tell what happened to the rest of the characters after the war. Why to show him in Mirkwood or Fangorn? And this forest doesn't even look much like those woods.

  • he is already a prince...it says so in the extened edition of the two towers

  • GoddessOfLove09, I know he's a prince of Mirkwood, but he wasn't the ruler there - his daddy Thranduil was ;) In Ithilien he was the prince, as the ruler of the Elven community, not just a son of the king.

  • I think this is Legolas in Fangorn. Gimli is pretty obviously in the Glittering Caves of Aglarond, and as the second part of those two's post-war pact was to visit Aglarond and Fangorn together, it makes sense that that's Legolas in Fangorn. And we ought to remember that Treebeard's Ent-house (extended dvds) looked quite a lot like the forest seen in the clip.

And as for what happened to Legolas and Gimli, they left for Valinor together after Aragorn died in the year 1541. :)

  • yes, but didnt Gimli first helped dwarf to retake moria?

  • I don't think so. As far as I can remember, that was a dwarf named Durin - some descendent of the Durin I.

  • I think Gimli helped to rebuild Minas Tirith, him and some of his buddies built a new gate made from mythril :)

  • Gah, I wanna know what happened to Legolas!! He looks awesome in that scene X3

  • Glorious unbraided Leggy-hair. <3

  • I wish they had made the ending a lot lnoger, I would've liked to see the fight for Hobbiton :D

  • a longer ending would've been nice, but about 3 1/2 hours is long enough at the same time

  • is their any way i can watch this???? I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO LEGOLAS... I'll never know.....
