Wow. I played this game like my life depended on it back in '99-00 in PlayLand in State College, PA. On one quarter, I could almost always get to 1-5, and often beyond. Yeah, it's all about maintenance. Saving bombs and powerups for when you really need 'em. God, I miss this game.

I never really keep track of time when playing Strikers. It's a good thing you did because I see now how fast one can possibly get through a stage.

Best I got is a 420,000 (Which nobody in my college seems to be able to beat). I can fully survive the first 4 stages without wasting a life (bombs is another thing. I always end up with none!) but the 5th stage is something I should practice more often on ^-^U

my best is like 385k with the zero and no turbo.

The only thing I don't like about this game is that you start with only 2 lives. The next extra is at 600K. My highest is 607,800..And that was on one quarter. Ya better have damn good eyes because this game spits enemy bullet like hell!

I take back that other comment, you did blow your supershots at bad times and you wasted at least 3 bombs easily. I give you credit for some bulletdodge, but management goes farther than luck in this one. Especially after stage 1-5 and beyond.

Yah, I wasn't thinking early in the games, I was just holding down fire instead of just rapidly hitting the fire button. Oh wells.

FYI, apparently the Japanese Strikers 1945 Plus is configured to give you three lives, not two, which is a considerable advantage. I mean, MAEDA AI and WGQ are still way out of our league, but there you go.

my new record.... Level 1-8 and 890.000 points.

You gain an extra life when you reach the 600.000 points, usualy in 1-6. Sometimes I can reach it in 1-5

I use the Flying Pancake.

I usualy use one Bomb on level 1-3, one in level 1-4 and the next levels depends on the circunstances. I usualy reach level 1-6 with 2 lives and 0 bombs. For me, the dificultest levels are 1-5 and 1-8. 1-6 and 1-7 are very easy after you know how the machines shot.

3 lifes,you get an extra life when you reach 600000 points,usually on level 1-6.i´m always pressing the fire button and you must have a clever use of the lasers and bombs.i use the best plane,flying pancake!!!i don´t have a video because the arcade game has disappeared from the place i usually play:(the levels 2-1 and forward are the same but with increased difficulty!!!try to get the special plane by putting the cursor on the question mark and do:up down u d u u u u d!good luck!!!

Here's the scoop folks. TG, in conjunction with the Guinness Book is what is commonly accepted as the de facto video game record keepers.

Am I saying I'm a world class SHUMP player?  Hell no. I enjoy casually playing SHUMPs. Twin Galaxies currently has no record on file for Strikers '45 Plus so I recorded a video of myself to submit.

Wanna get your name in the next Guinness Book? I suggest reading up on the regulations of Twin Galaxies and record yourself blowing shit up. 8*)

hmm.. i gotten to 1-8 before dying..

things for u to note if u are going for high score..

u letting too many planes escape.. and for the boss.. i normally dun use bomb for 1st 4 stages.. some boss u gotta kill it slower to allow more enemy planes to come out for more points.. and boss got various parts.. hit them to score higher points..

I haven't played this in a while now.  We replaced the joysticks in the Neo 6 slot showcase where Strikers was. The new sticks are VERY top heavy and don't hit corners very well. When I finish up my MAMEcab I'll continue practicing tho'.

i've gotten to about level 6 or so without losing the game.

back when my arcade had the game, i use to watch some guy play and he seriously memorized a lot of the shit and got to about level 2-7 until losing the game. he was nuts
