Just in my country, in Hungary I know astronomers personally who did optically observe the Lunar Vehicle after TLI, at the initial phase of the way OUT OF EARTH ORBIT. I know HAM radio operators who DID LISTEN to radio communications from the spacecraft being on the way to the Moon and this is all nothing, but an infinitely little amount of FACTS that they landed there, while I SEE NO FACT AT ALL that they did not!!!

I would need to look up the details of the facts and I haven't bothered to look up specifics on the LM engine.
But a general ballpark answer after a quick calculation is: If they fire the engine at 12000 hp for one hour, they would take the lander's average mass from 6000 MPH to zero.
For comparison: The Saturn booster that lifted off from earth was 12,000 times that horsepower.

Going to the moon was one goal, and we did it, great. Then we made OTHER goals:
6 shuttles, 2 space stations, 12 mars rovers, etc etc etc.
To learn new stuff you have to do NEW things, not old things. If you think we've wasted 40 years doing absolutely nothing, then you're a total ignorant, and proof that science is best left to scientists,not janitors.
BTW Japans orbiter saw, and released, pics of the Apollo landers. I saw them on CNN. So I guess you look pretty dumb. ;)

I'm not one to believe conspiracy theories, but if the landing was faked, it may be due to the arms race against the Soviet Union..
It's possible they did gear up for a real moon landing, but had a fake set of photos to use in case they couldn't land, as a contingency plan. That would make sense.
If the astronauts neared the radiation belts and registered extremely high radiation, they could turn back and use the contingency plan of releasing the fake moon landing footage.

And as I went to college for microelectronics and digital system computer design, I will say it's very easy to fake something like this if the only evidence is coming from a feed so far in space, all being completely run by a few top officials at NASA and the Federal Reserve banks.
