Scottie was a once in a lifetime player as well because he was basically Magic Johnson with athleticism and able to play defense. Magic was a better passer but Scottie had him beat in every other facet of the game. Mike was the BEST, Scottie was a beast and they also both scored 40 points in the same game once. Pippen is better than Lebron by far. he never had to average 20 plus points wen jordan was there cause they played as a team and they knew his position to defend and do the dirty work. Need to look at some more footage of pippen and you see he did everything. and when jordan left those two years he did average about 25 plus a game and led the team in about all the major stats and went to the ECF. He coulda avergaged way more but A) he played with MJ, & B) he was extremely unselfish, and took way less shots than somebody like LeBron or most other stars. Easily the best defender in his era, possibly a top 3 defender of all time. Give Pippen his credit and stop hating. He's a legend, & not only top 50, but top 20 for sure, maybe higher.

@SanctifyXu Na man I disagree. Pippen is easily top 50 and is a much better all-around player than most people in today's game. I'd still take him all day over LeBron, and even Wade too. He's a better offensive player than both of them. Pippen is as good if not a better defender than LeBron, and he can play the point as well if not better than LeBron. The only people I would consider taking over Pippen would be D.Rose, Kobe, Durant, & Howard. But I would most likely take Pip over all of them.

@Loudmouf84 Kobe is top ten. Pippen top 40 (my opinion). Kobe is the better scorer, higher basketball IQ, better shooter (my percentage), clutch player, athlete, and dominated player. Pippen was a role player who wasn't clutch, couldn't make his teammates better, and a notorious inconsistent scorer. I think Lebron is slightly better than Pippen. Based off the fact that he makes his teammates better and basketball IQ.

He couldn't always move without the ball (like Lebron today), inconsistent scorer, and would've been a number 2 on NJ (with Derrick Coleman) or GS (with Sprewell). Now, Pip's clearly better than Coleman or Sprewell...but he's not a catalyst....he's more of a faciliator....or a second option. I'll agree that MJ needed him for those championships....but Pippen wasn't going to lead Chi-town (or a loaded Portland team)..

Going back to my original point....not leading a team to a title (whenever or not a ref robbed him), not being able to create baskets for self or making your teammates better, is a sign of a weak basketball IQ. Pippen lead an under-talented chi-town team to a 34-31 record. Jordan came in and subsequently closed out the season with a 13-4 record. Flash forward to the 1997-98 season: when Jordan was without Pippen for 35 games...he lead them to the Central division lead....with the same team....

....Pippen had in 1995 (minus the Worm). Point: He didn't have a very strong basketball IQ. Pippen basketball IQ was only apparent on defense. He was an intelligent defender.....not an iq basketball player. Now he was an all-around player, who had more comparents than a Swiss Army.......but didn't posessed the basketball intellect of a Jerry West, Magic, Bird, Barkley, or Jordan...making him an inferior player. At best, Pippen was a "smart enough" player....the guy who learns enough "to get by".

So, it definitely showed that he was absolutely necessary to their success, and they weren't nearly the same without him as they were with him. Without Pippen, that team is not winning 6 Championships and losing 0. Pippen is the most underrated, under-appreciated superstar ever (aside from Mitch Richmond) & much higher than top 40.
