I have Astros A40 and when i plug them in to my laptop i have an M11x it detects them with realtek hd and asks me what device i had just plugged in... If i don't choose the mic in option, Im able to talk perfect, but just the second i click okay, even if its on the mic in option im not able to speak on anything(skype, recording,etc)... any suggestions on what i can do would be appreciated :)

My laptop is just retarded because everything is fine but when i record all I hear is static (speakers are fine, it's just the computer messed up the mic)

@dabomb5521 I sorta fixed it.....the mic boost in the system sounds interferes with the actual mic, so it'll sound all static-y, turn down the boost and turn up your master mic levels

MY mic will stop eorking after about 2 or 3 min if you don't use it some thimes it start working again but it's annoying. And I know it doesn't work when the sound bar on movie maker isn't doing anything

ok do u see da Mic icon next to the Recording Volume click on that and check all boxes and set the boost limit upp! ur jack might have a problem so try going to ur mixer on ur computer and setting a defualt jack or u can do it on HD manager

Can someone help me... I have vista and when i plug my headphones in i can only hear out the left ear and not the right.. I plug them in my hand held my volume control that plugs into my sub not the computer cause i can turn them up louder that way.. the headphones arent broke cause when i plug them into my TV i can hear out both ears and i never had this problem with windows XP.. I swear Vista is Pure GARBAGE.. Its gotta be the Settings Set on something wrong with Vista.

This is so frustrating. I've searched everywhere for every possible answer to make my mic louder, but nothing! I can barely hear my voice, and i have no option to 'boost' my mic in levels.

Here's how I did it.

1)Right Click on the sound Icon.

2)Right Click Playback Devices.

3)Highlight the headphones Icon with your mouse pointer, and right click. 4)Click Set as default device

Voila!! Hope that works for you guys :)

I think if I remember correctly where your sound level is theres a programme disabled enable it and fiddle about with it.

I can't remember because I haven't used vista for a while. Went back to XP

MY mic makes scratching noises and I can't record my voice at all, and I didn't do A-NY-THING to it. I've tampered with the sound to fix it, but I can't fix it. I may have to buy a new mic, but I don't want to.
