I watch this catch all the time. I get such an amazing feeling remembering it and then there is always this bitter after taste and shock that the game culminated in the Mets losing. I have never seen such an electric crowd anywhere. I personally loved Shea and this new ballpark while it has nice amenities is not blue and orange! Looks like Milwaukee! How could the Mets let Bradford and Oliver go after the season? I always look for the ESPN highlights for that game but can't ever find it.

you know that probably like 80% of the league does steroids or some kind of performance enhancing drug right? Pettite and A-Rod are the only two that got caught. I'd be willing to bet you that there's at least three or four other players on the Yankees that took some kind of performance enhancing drug.

I was at this game to in the right field corner... When he made that catch and threw it back in for the double play the stadium was literally shaking!!! One of the best catches at shea stadium

you know that probably like 80% of the league does steroids or some kind of performance enhancing drug right? Pettite and A-Rod are the only two that got caught. I'd be willing to bet you that there's at least three or four other players on the Yankees that took some kind of performance enhancing drug.

@marcbrown81 Yeah right ! Their are no other Yankees on roids because if they were they would get busted. How do you think Manny Ramirez got busted last year with the Dodgers ? Because he tried to take roids. Anyway power numbers throughout baseball have gone down over the past few years which indicate that steroid use is going away. I'm not saying that there were not a lot of steroid users but times have changed and some people need to get over it and stop talking about roids.

That's a pretty ignorant thing to say. I'm assuming your a Yankees a fan but you have to open your eyes. You think Manny Ramirez started taking performance enhancing drugs and got caught right away? the testing is MLB is random. You have to accept that fact that there is probably at least one player on your team that takes a performance enhancing drug (3 or 4 does sound a little excessive) Just like Giants fans with Bonds and every other fan with their favorite team.

man this is great, once that ball is hit its dead silence but when EC caught the ball Shea erupted. I remember at home watching ans shouting out in joy.

You should blame the offense for not taking the lead in the bottom of the sixth when they had bases loaded and less than two outs. However, you can blame Heilman and the rest of the bullpen for the chokes of the next two seasons.

I was at many mets games in my life time the game when Mike Pizza hit the homerun the 1 game after 9/11 the first game at Citi the last game at Shea David Wrights first game the gaqme they clinched in 2006 But the best game by far was this game LETS GO METS!

all Yankees do steroids...Posada was in the mitchell report, Teixeira used to do em with A-Rod in Texas, Cano is the next Barry Bonds, Jeter CONFESSED, A-Rod on em since HS, Damon did em with Papi, Cabrera confessed and Swisher got traded from the White Sox cause he did em.

And for the record steroids weren't around when Mantle was playing idiot ! Steroids didn't come into baseball until the late 80's early 90's so how could Jackson and Mantle be steroid users. @JackBauer270 Jeter never tested positive for anything idiot ! Cano ? Cano was a rookie in 2005 they banned roids in 2004 so how could he be doing them. Swisher ? Yeah right !, Damon ? The guy has never tested positive for roids. They have testing so you can't get away with that. You lack knowledge, you need to go somewhere and pick up a book.

it's because all Yankees do steroids and those players are Yankees. Not to mention A-Rod is the face of the franchise and he has been doing steroids since high school. And Reggie Jackson is Barry Bonds' cousin so he obviously has a lifetime supply.

You need to realize that people develop new steroids that aren't picked up in normal tests. Those tests are designed to detect the now out-of-date substance, and are unable to detect the new ones.
