  • Bring back endy!

  • wow. a full stadium with the mets playing...brings back memories. LGM!

  • the screaming girl ruins the moment

  • I'm amazing :D

  • @ stlbadazz24 that's why you'll lose tomorrow night in game 7.

  • @xxmets86 too bad we just won.

  • Lets Go Mets!

  • WE STILL WON BITCHES

  • A moment of happiness - but then - it all came crashing down....heh heh heh. We'll give you the catch, we got the ring that year. Oh - Cards are back in this year. GO CARDS!!!!

  • Nice catch, but it is definitely not "The Catch"

  • I wish the Mets would resign Endy, use him as a defensive replacement/spot starter like they used to.

  • Endy Chavez - another great Venezuelan

  • that is what i call a great catch

  • The Mets day will come. Don't worry. You need depressing moments like these appreciate what's to come.

  • I was sitting down studying for finals when that catch happened, after that I couldn't pick up the book again. That is, until that douche went down looking

  • it would have been awesome if they came back to win...that was really their year.......but i still get chills watching this 5 years later

  • made in venezuelan, and fron magallanes

  • one of the best catches of all time. i was in the bleachers feet away from the ball i could have almost reached over and caught that myself. terrible that they ended up losing that game, but was by far the best experience i have ever had in sports.

  • After that catch, that was a game that needed to be won.

  • He's on the rangers now

  • i was at that game and i remember that play. to bad they didnt win though

  • Greatest post season catch of all tme, that will forever be overlooked because Aaron Hielman gives up a fucking home run. FUCK

  • I fucking hate Aaron Heilman

  • i feel your pain mets fans, i had to watch ryan howard strike out against the giants in game 6 of the 2010 nlcs

  • @playerdepimp not the same when the 2 years before you won the World Series

  • @xDeadMisfitsx YEAH fucking the Phillies!

  • @playerdepimp No u don't. Only mets fans understand what its like to be a mets fan. I site the 2007 collapse and the trading of len dykstra and trading for jason bay

  • great catch, but in order for it to be called "The Catch" they woulda had to win the game

  • Remember when Ollie was good?

  • Ahhhhh and with just one inning llater.... ;)

  • I remember sitting on my couch and being almost paralyzed. No reaction just a dropped jaw. After the throw to first and watching Delgado do the first-pump I went bananas.

  • Sigh. Mets fans aren't as arrogant and obnoxious as yankee fans, or as drunk and equally arrogant as philly fans, yet we always have a horrible team and take the most shit from those fans.

Hurry up and make the team good again Alderson.

  • my reaction to this "HOLY FUCKING SHIT OH MY FUCKING GOD YESSS!!".... my reaction to Faggot Aaron Heilman blowing the game " HOLY FUCKING SHIT OH MY FUCKING GOD NOOOOO!".... i dont think Citi Field will ever rock like that

  • Gave me goosebumps.

  • Look everyone says if Beltran swung the bat it would have been a trip to the series. No, that was a perfect pitch that would had ended up a blop to first base. Hate to say it but Carpenter had that floated pitch perfect

  • @MrStone2K10 How do you know? Beltran could've been able to fight it off too, and then maybe get a more hitable pitch and send us to the series.

  • @yrtyrtyytrytry

It's easy to look back and say why did Beltran look at that pitch? But at that time Wainwright was filthy. And that pitch was filthy. Yeah, it's okay to say it wasn't that bad of a pitch now but back then I can see why he struck out.

  • @MrStone2K10 it was wainwright not carpenter

  • i was on first base side and saw the snow cone...all i was sscreaming was holy shittt , holy shitt...

  • when i'm feeling down about injuries or tough-luck losses, sometimes i just reach up to the sky and scream, "WHERE ARE YOU, ENDY CHAVEZ?!?!?!"

  • man, this brings back some of my best memories of watching baseball..

btw, good luck in your recent call-up to the bigs in Texas, Endy. DO yo thang!

  • if only beltran SWUNG THE BAT.....this would be one of the best postseason catches ever

  • @sportsfan0518 if the mets win the world series this goes down as THE greates catch ever,...

  • haha the mets still are terrible and they dude got lucky bcuz if he was trully amzing he would still be starting on the mets but where is he now?

  • omar miniya set the mets back 10 years, fred wilpon set them back 20...see you in 30 years...N.L CHAMPS 2041

  • ill never forget jumping up and down on my bed... best thing ive ever seen while watching our beloved mets. such a high point.. makes me wana cry thinkin about the outcome. this will always give me chills. same thing with zach parise's tying goal for USA with 20 seconds left in the mens hockey olympic gold game

  • @AttitudeEra4life459

Can't be that pathetic considering he made it to the MLB DUMBASS!!!!

  • True Met fans remember the joy of this moment. We thought the game was ours.

  • WOOP WOOP

  • its ashamed they lost

  • Mets will be back and win the series

  • I was there! Felt like the greatest moment of my life until we lost!

  • hooray and then the cardinals went on to win the world series.

  • I hate the Mets, but god damn, that was a sick catch. Definitely the high point of Endy Chavez's pathetic career.

  • I have a 2007 Upper Deck baseball card "Printing Plate" of this catch! It is a "one-of-one" baseball card. In other words, it's one of a kind. I own the only copy. I wonder what it's worth (in NY, of course).....

  • I watch this catch all the time. I get such an amazing feeling remembering it and then there is always this bitter after taste and shock that the game culminated in the Mets losing. I have never seen such an electric crowd anywhere. I personally loved Shea and this new ballpark while it has nice amenities is not blue and orange! Looks like Milwaukee! How could the Mets let Bradford and Oliver go after the season? I always look for the ESPN highlights for that game but can't ever find it.

  • I WAS THERE THE PLACE WENT NUTS MY EARS HURT LOL

  • @TheGriffconn As was I my friend, and I loved every minute of it!

  • I seriously get goosebumps at this sight... how silent it got off the bat, then the eruption... I'll never forget this day or this play, regardless of how the game ended.

  • @clearlynotstefan seeing this just makes me sick if only we had won

  • ridiculous catch

    damn i miss shea stadium

  • despite the loss, this play still gives me chills.

  • Awesome catch huh

  • We would have gone to the World Series if not for fucking Aaron Hielman

  • when the mets did not suck >.>

  • Mets biggest 10 seconds of glory in 25 years...rofl thats so sad.

  • Wow, I miss that sound of the crowd being a Mets fan

  • I Miss Shea

  • oh yea how'd that game work out for you mets fans?

  • venezolano y magallanero...endy chavez

  • MOST AMAZING CATCH EVER NO DOUBT

  • @WTFproductionsX yes it was I got out of my seat here in california and went nutz..

    I still love my mets

    Lets GO Mets 2011!!!

  • F*Ing HEILMAN!!!!! (Not to mention Trachsel, Pedro, and El Duque who all left the Mets out to dry)

  • Yadier is not impressed

  • My reaction to this from my couch when it happened: "oh shit, oh shit, oh shit, oh shit... OHHH SHIT!!! OHHH SHIT!!! OHHHHHHHHH SHIIIIT!!!!"

  • Thanks for the footage of this from the stands. You've captured the moment! This catch SHOULD have been one of the greatest moments in Mets history. While the catch is still the best ever, it's place in history is forever tainted by Beltran looking at strike 3 to end this game.

  • I remeber tht :]

  • 2006 mets were awsome

  • wonder what happen a couple innings later in that same spot? Name that molina...YADI

  • i was at the game, and everybody went silent as soon as the ball left the bat, everyone thought it was gone, then endy leaped up and brought the ball back down with him, and the place erupted , and then he turned into a double play and the stadium felt like an earthquake.

Greatest moment I experienced in sports.

  • priceless

  • I miss shea :(

  • its a shame they lost that game ):

  • Greatest catch in baseball history

  • Yadi! Yadi! Yadi! Yadi! Yadi! Yadi! Yadi! Yadi! Yadi! Yadi! Yadi! Yadi! Yadi! Yadi! Yadi! Yadi! Yadi! Yadi! Yadi! Yadi! Yadi! Yadi! Yadi! Yadi! Yadi! Yadi! Yadi! Yadi! Yadi! Yadi! Yadi! Yadi! • Heart breaking loss but it was still an Amazin catch!

  • pity the mets lost

  • haha u lose

  • I was right there where he robbed it. In the picnic seats. All the way to the top left

  • I still get goosebumps every time I see this

  • To this day, I still can not believe that he caught that ball, and I was there at that game. My older brother and I went crazy when we saw him pull that ball back into play and complete the double play. I was so distracted by my excitement when he caught that ball, I didn't even realize that he had doubled up Jim Edmonds, which made me go more crazy.

  • Been a fan since 1982. this is by far my FAVORITE mets playoff moment

  • GREATEST. CATCH. EVER.

    nuff said

  • im a met fan but that catch had no meaning to it because we lost that game its like if the giants did not win the superbowl in 2007 tyrees catch would have meant nothing

  • How the fuck did the Mets not win the World Series after this catch.

100/100 objective baseball fans would, at that moment, have said the Mets were destined.

  • I blame Willies dumb fukin moves throughout this series. This should have been a cake walk. fuck

  • What a waste of a great catch. Omar, drop dead!

  • Mickey Rooney ??? 0:28

  • im a mets fan but. 1.)gotta give credit to the card they won the world series this year ..2.) there only one clip on youtube were we can see this catch and thats this guy who videotaped it so .ur the man ....3.)even though the mets lost this is what u call great baseball...4.)when he caught this i got so pumped ..after given my brothers high fives i started slammin my head into the wall ..nd i got scars from it ..so ill will never forget this night ....my birthday was the next day too.

  • @littlea511 if we won game 7 we would of crushed the tigers

  • @TheMetsnation I Beltran Swung You guys would have crushed the tigers

  • that was a nasty pitch cant blame beltran for freezing on it

  • @TheMetsnation i wish the Mets won this game and have there 3rd world series win

    Lets Go Mets!!!

  • This is glorious! Ok the cardinals won! The Cards didn't do ANTHING that anyone cares to remember!

  • @TheFRiNgEguitars So you say. Baseball isn't in just the northeast. I hate to tell you this, but most people outside of New York don't like any New York teams. It may come as a surprise to you, but it's true. And that world series win by the team you are upset about at least put them into double figures of world series Championships. Now I will say, when he caught that ball, I really thought the Cardinals would have lost that game. I sure as hell didn't expect Yadier to hit one out.

  • Baseball ISN'T just the Northeast...

And this just-by-LA Mets fan agrees that this catch is wAY more memorable than the 2006 Cards...

That WAS the Mets' season, everyone knew it, they sent like six or seven to the All-Star game, great hitting, pitching, defense obviously...

I saw this and thought, "That's the sign... when the Mets have a magic moment like that, it measns victory."

I can STILL see Beltran looking at called strike three... WHY? At least SWING for the K! But ENDY...!

  • Does anyone remember Devon White's snag in the '92 Series or Dwight Evans in '75? Not really. In 10 years this will be only on Espn Classic. Teams that win it all get remembered.

  • @xVVarri0rx Does anyone remember Bill Buckner's error? YES!!! Mets fans do, and TRUE Mets fans will ALWAYS remember this game as a woulda coulda shoulda World Sereis apperence.........

  • esa jugada jamas la olvidare I LOVE ENDY CHAVEZ

  • He's Amazing... RIIIIGHT... Yadi! Yadi! Yadi! Not amazing enough to go get the hit off Yadi's bat is he?!?!

  • and then what happend?

  • And then the Cardinals won! :)

  • I was at this game to in the right field corner... When he made that catch and threw it back in for the double play the stadium was literally shaking!!! One of the best catches at shea stadium

  • @JackBauer270

You're an idiot... and Jack Bauer is a pussy.

  • @jziglar

you know that probably like 80% of the league does steroids or some kind of performance enhancing drug right? Pettite and A-Rod are the only two that got caught. I'd be willing to bet you that there's at least three or four other players on the Yankees that took some kind of performance enhancing drug.

  • Because that is totally equivalent to having 80% of the league on performance enhancing substances.

  • @marcbrown81 Yeah right ! Their are no other Yankees on roids because if they were they would get busted. How do you think Manny Ramirez got busted last year with the Dodgers ? Because he tried to take roids. Anyway power numbers throughout baseball have gone down over the past few years which indicate that steroid use is going away. I'm not saying that there were not a lot of steroid users but times have changed and some people need to get over it and stop talking about roids.

  • @jziglar

That's a pretty ignorant thing to say. I'm assuming your a Yankees a fan but you have to open your eyes. You think Manny Ramirez started taking performance enhancing drugs and got caught right away? the testing is MLB is random. You have to accept that fact that there is probably at least one player on your team that takes a performance enhancing drug (3 or 4 does sound a little excessive) Just like Giants fans with Bonds and every other fan with their favorite team.

  • i was at this game front row 3rd base line where the tarp is stored...unfreakin believable catch...walkin outta that stadium felt like i was punched in the gut...

  • To bad all these fucking idiots at the game didn't realize they were gonna lose

Beltran called out for excessive window shopping

    Nuff said

  • Endy Chavez PAPA DEL MAGALLANES PARA EL MUNDO MAGALLANES CAMPEON !

  • this catch was amazing...where is the video from tv though i cant find it.

  • Yadier fucking Molina!

  • Aaron Fucking Heilmann

  • man this is great, once that ball is hit its dead silence but when EC caught the ball Shea erupted. I remember at home watching ans shouting out in joy.

only to later screams at fucking Heilman at through my tv.

  • I Cant belive the mets lost that game. I HATE AARON HEILMEN

  • You should blame the offense for not taking the lead in the bottom of the sixth when they had bases loaded and less than two outs. However, you can blame Heilman and the rest of the bullpen for the chokes of the next two seasons.

  • @Coasterdaredevil13 Along with every Mets fan, Agreed!!

  • @Coasterdaredevil13

only the mets could lose a game after a catch like that

  • @rayking05 I KNOW...

I couldn't believe they lost that game after THAT...a part of me still can't believe it, the Mets ALWAYS win on a huge event in the playoffs, whether it's the Miracle Mets or the 16-inning marathon and then Game 6 or the Grand Single...ALWAYS!

    HOW...?

Damn pitcher...Endy saved them once, couldn't do it twice...

Still--couldn't Beltran have at least SWUNG at strike three???

LET'S GO METS! Yankees can take their 27 titles and take a hike, METS UNTIL I DIE!!!!!!

  • You know you're a true met fan if you smile everytime you watch this

  • @teamnorco You know you're a true met fan if you watch this and think about the last time you cried...BELTRAN SWING, ITS TOO CLOSE TO TAKE ON 2 STRIKES AND BOTTOM OF THE 9th WINNING RUN IN SCORING POSITION, WHY WATCH AS STRIKE 3 GOES BY???????? :'(

Why is it every time I meet a TRUE Mets fan, we discuss this game.........blah

  • @GiantMet77 from a Cardinal fan's perspective, this was the greatest game I've ever watched and the Mets played a hell of a series! Absolutely the best catch I've ever seen and by the way, that's still the sickest curve Waino has ever thrown!

  • @GiantMet77 mets fans gotta stop living in the past.

  • @GiantMet77 so true. although i have to give it to wainwright. that was such a nasty pitch.

  • @teamnorco AND a TRUE Mets fan wants to puke when they here the name Aaron Heilman, ROT IN HELL AARON!!!!!!!!!

  • @GiantMet77 hear***

  • @teamnorco agreed,

  • @teamnorco Damn right

  • @teamnorco Or get Goose bumps. I was at that game.

  • @teamnorco and yet they still lost the game

  • @teamnorco if i was a mets fan i wouldnt smile at this knowing the outcome ha

  • so true lol

  • @teamnorco i get the chills everytime

  • @teamnorco u know ur a ture mets fan if u follow a team that doesnt ever win and brings up this play every day even though they lost the game

  • @teamnorco mets suck

  • @teamnorco i still cannot believe that happened.

  • @teamnorco yes I do..amazin

  • @teamnorco I always smile!!! Let's Go Mets!!!

  • @teamnorco you still lost the series bitch

    two words

    YADIER MOLINA

  • @zerpsiemammas Two more words:

    Fuck off.

Seriously, what the hell, you have nothing better to do with your sorry life than come on a METS video board and taunt METS fans?!

  • MEEEEEET THE METS!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • The best catch I've ever seen, considering the moment and the catch.

  • SHITIFIELD IS SO HORRIBLE

  • I agree John. CITIT FIELD SUXX

  • i agree on what you agree on

  • this stadium was better than shiti field

  • not really...

  • I was at many mets games in my life time the game when Mike Pizza hit the homerun the 1 game after 9/11 the first game at Citi the last game at Shea David Wrights first game the gaqme they clinched in 2006 But the best game by far was this game LETS GO METS!

  • wow this was priceless fucking shame they didnt beat cards ffs

  • If you hate the Mets so much then why are you watching a video about the Mets?

    Go Mets.

  • all Yankees do steroids...Posada was in the mitchell report, Teixeira used to do em with A-Rod in Texas, Cano is the next Barry Bonds, Jeter CONFESSED, A-Rod on em since HS, Damon did em with Papi, Cabrera confessed and Swisher got traded from the White Sox cause he did em.

  • bro what the fuck are u talking about?? Did you take your meds today???

  • WHAT?!?! You can't handle that the Yankees have taken more steroids than Benoit? BENOIT!!!!

    Steroids contest:

    Yankees > Benoit

  • Idiot Contest

    JackBauer270 > Everyone

  • listen pal, I'm sorry that the New York Yankees have steroid addicts on the fucking team: A-Rod Jeter Teixeira Rivera Pettitte Sabathia Damon Mattingly Jackson Mantle ALL HAVE ADMITTED STEROID USE
  • Prove every single one of them. besides a-rod and pettite

  • they confessed

  • @JackBauer270 What are you talking about ? That comment you just made was really dumb ? Their are only 2 people on that list that did steroids/HGH and that is A-rod and Pettite. And for the record steroids weren't around when Mantle was playing idiot ! Steroids didn't come into baseball until the late 80's early 90's so how could Jackson and Mantle be steroid users. Stop making stupid comments and learn something because you look like a fool.

  • @JackBauer270 Jeter never tested positive for anything idiot ! Cano ? Cano was a rookie in 2005 they banned roids in 2004 so how could he be doing them. Swisher ? Yeah right !, Damon ? The guy has never tested positive for roids. They have testing so you can't get away with that. You lack knowledge, you need to go somewhere and pick up a book.

  • it's because all Yankees do steroids and those players are Yankees. Not to mention A-Rod is the face of the franchise and he has been doing steroids since high school. And Reggie Jackson is Barry Bonds' cousin so he obviously has a lifetime supply.

    Steroid taking contest:

New York Yankees > Chris Benoit

  • You need to realize that people develop new steroids that aren't picked up in normal tests. Those tests are designed to detect the now out-of-date substance, and are unable to detect the new ones.

  • dude, some coinsidence how they ALWAYS come back to win because of walk offs, stop bringin out the cork in the last inning
