  • I still have my virtual boy with Warioland, Mario's Tennis, and Teleroboxer. Good times.

  • Damn I wish I bought this back in the day.

  • Watching this just gives me a headache!

  • i used to own one of these and enjoyed playing it for short stints. i thought it was awesome that i owned nearly the entire library of US released games and only had to have a few games to do it! lol. never got to play this one, would have if the thing didnt cost so much

  • Another Example of a game that could have been on any console at the time

  • Nooo... I wish this had been on SNES instead!

  • Watches into Virtual Boy

    Takes it off*

    Says in a dramatic way

    It does look like shit.

  • People who outright hate the Virtual Boy are stupid as hell and make me LOL.

  • @TheFlabbyEschebone have you ever played one? they strain your eyes and the games have little virtual element... and it died out in a year... whats your arguement?

  • @Em0Dudee21 The console was bad as it caused HORRIFIC headaches. However, those who criticize the games are usually people who never played them. The games were all pretty good. There was only one bad game (Water World) released on the console... So yeah, I see both of your arguments. Some people hate on the games without having played them, these people are foolish. While others hate on the console for the pain it caused, these people are justified.

  • @spman2099 i see what your saying, if it had a strap to be able to play it effeciently, headaches put aside, it might have done a little better considering the games were pretty good, this particular game is VERY expensive nowadays, so i guess those screwed over can make a good buck lol

  • the music is pretty boss

  • Ah so this is where that snowman came from in SBK: Snowboard Kids

  • I actually wish they would remake this game for a recent console or handheld with color. It seems to be good aside from the fact that it is on virtual boy.

  • The quality in this video doesn't really do the system justice but with that said even with your eyes next to a unit it isn't much better. Bright red, eyes feel iffy after awhile. I still got mine and its original box and 4 games. I'm actually thinking on expanding my collection just to have one of the rarer pieces of game history. From what I read only 77k units ever produced. :3

  • this game isn't worth jack shit. from avgn and his virtual boy review. no joke

  • @MultiDrJekyll

Well, avgn finally reviewed it, and he said it wasn't bad.

  • @buuski too bad it was in virtual boy only.

  • the music here is actually pretty good! I don't see any 3D though, lol.

  • God, this isn't even 4 minutes long and I'm already tired. My eyes want want to crawl out of their sockets. And the sound is almost as bad. What the fuck where they thinking?

  • Awesome music

  • AH EAR RAPE!

  • this game is very rare

  • It's a shame the way Nintendo (Japanese businessmen) treated the Virtual Boy lead production designer.

After the platform's initial failure they exiled him off to do things like work the booth at game shows HIMSELF to represent the VB.

Then on the freeway he had a car accident and when he got out to check on the driver of the other vehicle he was hit by oncoming traffic and killed.

    Sux.

  • It did but the Virtual Boy should have never been produced and the product manager has to take blame for it.

  • @6581R4 Yeah, but if you take in count that Gunpei Yokoi, as his name was),also was the mind behind Game & Watch, Game Boy, Kid Icarus, and producer of Metroid, I think that at least I can forgive him for Virtual Boy.

  • @6581R4 He has a point though, if they hadn't of given him such a harsh punishment he most probably would still be alive.

  • @SavageArms357 People dramatize this too much. VB was a failure and GB was getting stale at the time. Game Freak was the one to take interest in GB and revived it. When he left Nintendo he founded his lab and designed Wonderswan for Bandai and did some Tamagotchi like handheld games. His death was simply a traffic accident.

  • @Kujakuseki01 Ironic that Yokoi's single blunder ended up causing his death.

  • @Kujakuseki01

well atleast he made super metroid.

  • @Kujakuseki01

    His name was Gunpei yokioi!

  • I just can't understand why people don't like this system!

  • Well, you're right, it wasn't a bad idea; it was just executed poorly.

That, and there wasn't really anything "virtual" about it. It was just 2D given a "3D" effect by making your eyes defocus. Not only is that incredibly unhealthy, but it's also a pretty sorry attempt at 3D.

  • well i think it was an ok attempt to 3d.

i mean from the one game i have and other videos like this, it looks like no other system.

no other system tried to get the 3d nintendo was aiming for and nintendo got it the closest. overall, it looks really cool when i first saw it and still looks cool to me. i mean, does the n64 look like this?

    no.

so i think its an interesting piece of history and an awesome one!

  • @Classicvideogames1 You can buy a flash card that will allow you to load all the games from your pc via USB cable.Just put the flash card in your virtual boy after and voila any VB game you want and even will play all the japanese games because there was no region lock out chip in the VB.

  • MY EYES!!!!!!!!!!!!! *has seizure*

  • i just heard about this game from the "angry video game nerd" review vid (its the only game he couldn't get for VBoy)

man what a piece VB was

  • he did in the dvd-release

  • I Love the music!

Am i the only one who likes this system?

  • Just about

  • @6581R4 I just like the music, not the whole system

  • OMG!!! I feel the same way dude. Someone should upload some other game soundtracks from the virtual boy. Mario Tennis also has a great soundtrack. Jack Brothers and Telroboxer in my opinion are 2 of the best virtual boy games.

  • @Classicvideogames1 ---Ive got one and like it , I think everyone had higher hopes for it.If it could be re-done in colour and smaller like a pair of sunglasses, and make some first persont shooters for it.....it would thrive.Imagine doom or call of duty modern warefare 2 in this thing....

  • @Classicvideogames1 yes, and that makes you retarded and a little homosexual

  • @Ericzeppe WOW. how pathetic are you?

  • Wow this must have been the only rpg for the virtual boy, and by Atlus!

  • I wouldn't call it an RPG, or even an action RPG. It's more of an action game with a few puzzle elements.

  • @6581R4 kinda like zelda? :\

  • there is jokes in that film "Press Start" about this, it makes like 12 jokes about headaches lol

  • i cant see fukking shit

  • This was the best I could do the day before I sold the Virtual Boy (I still have Jack Bros. tho)

  • kool lol

  • OMG a Virtual Boy RPG, painful!!

  • "It was retired mainly because of N64 console coming out, price, red LED's, and some people got headaches" So...it was retired because it sucked? Not saying the games were horrible, just saying the system left a lot to be desired.

  • this game rockd i loved it had lots of fun playin it

  • what a shit load of fuck!!!

  • jack snowman looks a japanese chowder

  • I'm about to have a seazureO.O Does this really put a major strain on the eyes.

  • yes

  • Damnit, thanks to the AVGN the Virtual Boy's price skyrocketed

    Now I'll never get one!

  • I sweeped away with one on on ebay, for 20 bucks plus 9.99 shipping. It also came with 4 games! best 30 bucks I ever spent. I might want to get some more games...

If you want a virtual boy just look on ebay, theres got to be a good deal. I was lucky and mine came with the whole jazz with the stand and the original system box!

Plus that games came with their instruction manuals and boxes. I was really lucky! I want to get jack bros japanese version of course because the US version cost too much

  • I know what you mean earlyer this year I was looking for a virtual boy on ebay until I went into this junk store and got the system with controller and two games for $3.00

  • i got it at the flea market for 2 bucks. no joke

  • best 30 bucks you ever soent more like worst

  • Worst? There are some shitty wii games that are alone 50 bucks. 20 more than I spent on my console, and 4 games. I think the virtual boy is an underrated system. The AVGN just made it seem worse than what it really was.

It was retired mainly because of N64 console coming out, price, red LED's, and some people got headaches.

  • @jumpcho160

The Virtual Boy sucked ass. It only had a few a good games. Everything was in red, lol. It was a chore to play and was uncomfortable. People hated this system.

The Vitrual Boy was "retired" (DISCONTINUED) because it sold poorly and consumers didn't want it. The market spoke and the market said it sucked ass. Case closed.

  • To each is own, I still think its not a horrible system. It deff. has major flaws, but it's certainly is fun to play now.

  • u just got that from AVGN. next time get your own info

  • @humnidman2

Wrong, dumbass. I owned a Virtual Boy which I got for FREE from someone dumb enough to have paid for it. Secondly, everything I said was FACT, so shut that punk ass up.

Next time, know what the fuck you're talking about before running your dumbass mouth.

  • interesting how "fact" is exactly the same as what AVGN said, isn't it?

  • @humnidman2

It would be interesting if I knew what the fuck you were talking about. But I do understand your apprehension about me owning a VB, after all it's not like many people did, and for good reason; it was a red piece of shit.

  • wow overreact much?

  • wow... sound like an emo fag, much?

  • fucking freak

  • well if ur intressted check out my full virtual boy review where I talk about all 22 games + homebrews and so on....so far only 4 parts are up but still

  • lol this is actually the first Shin Megami Tensei related game to come out in the US. A year before Persona 1 for PS1 came out in English :D

  • i hate virtual boys they suck ass

  • True, but if you got one when Wal-Mart dumped them brand new for something like $30, and games were $10, it made for an interesting evening or two.

  • I disagree, I think they kick major big-time butt. The speakers are really good, and the graphics have more detail than the Gameboy Color.

For example, as you can see in this game, there is alot going on graphic-wise. Compare this to "Donkey Kong Country" for the Gameboy Color, and you would see a major difference.

  • Hey man, if you really are going to sell it, how much would it be? I'm trying to complete my collection of vb games.

  • I have this game.Very good music and game it self is ok.

  • Yeah, I think Panic Bomber has better music though. I'm probably going to sell my VB + games, it's been in an attic for years.

  • hey I'll take it please!?!/ please man I would love one

  • AVGN said that jack bros. is the rarest and most pricey of the virtual boy games

  • u can buy it on ebay for a little more than 1.99$

  • Complete with box and all paperwork? I got my copy from Babbage's.

  • oh really but yeah it comes with box and all paper work you just gotta pay shipping( 5 dollors)

  • and he said its probably not worth jack shit lol

  • looks like i wasint the only one who searched this after avgn's review of virtual boy

  • Actually this is one of the best games on the console. It's a really fun and interesting one.

  • I have Jack Bros(Complete) and everything is in fantastic condition and its the american version. I'm selling it off craigs list ;p $130
