  • Are you out of Hastings, Neb? I know Hastings a bit. Had aunt / uncle / cousins that lived there. I've been around Hastings since the late 50's!

Anyhow, I've been chasing for many many years. Still learning too. I think the GREATEST radio station in the alley is am radio's KRVN....out of Lexington. I can't remember their call numbers. It might be 880. But they're the absolute best when in a car without radio.

  • At this moment (6/7/09), you may be in the perfect area to spot more tornadoes. Vortex2 got hit by quarter/ping pong ball size hail.

A partner would help a bunch.

  • i remember that day i was scared there were a fair and i live at nebraks grand island

  • Invest in a tripod

  • i just got one and i plan on using it:)

  • This is where most citizens make the mistake of comming out of their shelters, when the siren(s) stop they think its over.

In Estelline they run the siren until the tornado either passess or the event is cancelled.

  • That's what they do in Oklahoma where I live. They will sound the siren until the warning passes or the threat to the area is done.

  • Nice vid. Have to agree with the first comment. You should try to have a chase partner. I would also suggest you check into amature radio. Its very possable that there were hams out there chasing and reporting directly to the NWS via ham radio. they could be a great help in a time of need. The first chase is very exciting but wow would hate to have you hurt. Any help i can offer id be happy to, Have been chasing and stotting for over 10 years now. I look forward to more vids.
