Remember that the Bugatti Veryon is fast, but heavy roadcar.

Bugatti is no longer French! Volkswagen owns it and builds it, so that makes it German. Main headquarters is France but Germans own it. Every little part of Veyron is built by VW and it shares some basic electric parts from other VW cars.
F1 engines can rev to 20k rpm but it's v8 some are v10 with only 3.0litter to 4.0 and really small crank shaft's. They make 800-1200hp and those engines last long enough to complete 1 race. Top fuel dragsters use Basic V8's design with a slightly bigger engine blocks than stock v8's these cars produce 8000hp+ but they only last 10 sec before they explode when pushed to limit. this is the reason for Veyrons engine size and output it's made to last long time while pushed to it's limit.

No, its makes 125bhp per litre. There are plenty of production car engines, with no need for turbo's that make more than 125bhp per litre, with full warranties.
And also how do you know the Veyron engine is reliable? What data are you basing it on. Hardly many have been sold, and hardly many have done more than a few thousand miles...
@ytcf71 Turbos in Veyrons W16 are set to 18psi. That's not small turbo. 18psi is what an average v8 intakes without turbos, this is what they had to do to produce 1000hp. W16 is producing same amount of hp as it would be if it was normally aspirated 16litter engine but we all know that would be a giant engine so they added 4 turbos to do the work vs the size.
GAS motorsports made a Supra with 2JZ 3.0L 6cylinder single turbo with almost 1900HP! But i can understand why Veyron got the huge engine, its a production car and it needs reliability and comfort. Huge engine = better marginals. But if they tuned the veyron engine to the max....oh my! :D

@GarrettKeetley This model only (I say only in relitive terms) has 1000hp, the supersport version has 1200hp, I love this car, This is more amazing to me than a space shuttle.

VW spent hundreds of millions to create this master piece and achieve a top speed of 253. SSC does 256 mph and Shelby spent about $4 million and built it in a shed. Not saying the SSC is better than the veyron, but still

if anyone wants to see what its like when a veyron accelerates through 5 gears needs to watch this....anyone saying 5th gear is a rip off needs to stfu.they both describe cars in a great way and tiff is an awesome driver..the only thing i dont like about 5th gear is that long haired,fat guy whos overly annoying apart from that,,both good

Bugatti is no longer French! Volkswagen owns it and builds it, so that makes it German. Main headquarters is France but Germans own it. Every little part of Veyron is built by VW and it shares some basic electric parts from other VW cars.

F1 engines can rev to 20k rpm but it's v8 some are v10 with only 3.0litter to 4.0 and really small crank shaft's. They make 800-1200hp and those engines last long enough to complete 1 race. Top fuel dragsters use Basic V8's design with a slightly bigger engine blocks than stock v8's these cars produce 8000hp+ but they only last 10 sec before they explode when pushed to limit. this is the reason for Veyrons engine size and output it's made to last long time while pushed to it's limit.

No, its makes 125bhp per litre. There are plenty of production car engines, with no need for turbo's that make more than 125bhp per litre, with full warranties.
And also how do you know the Veyron engine is reliable? What data are you basing it on. Hardly many have been sold, and hardly many have done more than a few thousand miles...

@ytcf71 Turbos in Veyrons W16 are set to 18psi. That's not small turbo. 18psi is what an average v8 intakes without turbos, this is what they had to do to produce 1000hp. W16 is producing same amount of hp as it would be if it was normally aspirated 16litter engine but we all know that would be a giant engine so they added 4 turbos to do the work vs the size.

And the naturally aspirated version of the 8 litre W16 only makes 600bhp.

GAS motorsports made a Supra with 2JZ 3.0L 6cylinder single turbo with almost 1900HP! But i can understand why Veyron got the huge engine, its a production car and it needs reliability and comfort. Huge engine = better marginals. But if they tuned the veyron engine to the max....oh my! :D
