I'd love to know if his story was based off previous character analysis and research or if he was making these decisions for Trinculo as he was saying it. Either way, amazing to watch.
if ever there were a perfect player for the part of Trinculo...Russell Brand it is. He is the real life Trinculo almost without trying, but I'm glad he's done his character analysis! :)
when he said "I've been riding on the tidal wave of that laugh ever since," i wanted to stand up and cheer. Also I loved it when he said "I'm a royal, not of birth but of my own making" or something like that. Just really excellent.
Also cut this pirate talk right now: the chance of any of pirates ever being in any way silver tongued or articulate and not being a simplistic monosyllabic smell is just ridiculous.
I'd be telling a lie if I said I liked him all the time, but that was possibly one of the most fascinating things I have ever watched! It's amazing how well he stayed in character and how quickly his mind works to be able to improvise like that. Bravo Mr Brand!
@Jimprovize couldnt said it better myself. i always think the people who dislike russell is a classic case of envy. hes so talented, funny and smart .
lol! He should be in Pirates Of The Caribbean as Jack Sparrow's brother, he may not be as hot, but he's sure is as weird and fascinating...demented even. (thaz a compliment btw) XD
Cocaine? Ecstasy? Has everyone else seem to neglect the fact there's a dozen different water bottles out on the table, all with varying amounts of water in them...
I saw a clip... To be honest, I'm kind of disappointed by his performance. Maybe it's just that I'm not used to modernized shakespeare, but I don't really want Russell in this... He's a wonderful actor, fantastic comedian, completely brilliant, but his accents a bit rough. Shakespeare should be more silky, and less edgy, IMHO.
@DEVADlP Julie Taymore-Mr.Trinculo is that your first or last name?
Russell-Trinculo actually a nickname because of me love of trinkets brightly colored things objects (idk)…anything really twinkles sparkles anything that a magpie might lie its claw upon that’s where you’ll find me if I see something sparkling even the glint in the eye of a fair maiden I’m on it thats me way that always been me way see you can put
@DEVADlP me amongst any kind of filth any kind of scum ..anything bejeweled or sparkling or attractive ill be all over it like a rash not the harm rash like or any kind of malady nor any kind of dermatological disorder no, no, no why look at me skin pearly it is some would say look at it phosphorescent so it glints like oil like oil upon a puddle. So of course I was born to scum I always knew I was never meant to move among them my father a look
This is absolutely brilliant. What a talent he is, not just a pretty face. When you impress Alfred Molina, you know you're doing something very, very right.
He was born to do shakespeare? He was horrible in that movie... as was the movie as a whole. Don't expect to see it win any awards unless you're thinking of razzies. Yes, he's a great improviser and can ad lib like a mad man. He's very funny and talented at comic ad lib but that has nothing to do with shakespeare. In fact, Shakespeare allows for less VERBAL ad lib than any other playwright. If done well, Shakespeare should usually have NO significant verbal ad lib, just physical
Extraordinary in his ability to extemporize. The cogent thought manifests itself in cogent speech without a wasted synapse. "um...?", "uh...?" unneeded locutions in his case. Shakespeare, Julie Taymor and Russell Brand - all treasures. Now tell me a little something about your character's backstory...
@lizzy4liz I know that RB believes im God. I'm wondering if that was just what he said for the character. Particularly in the context of The Tempest, I could easily believe that Trinculo would believe that.
Ah thats good :)
