Love this one two. For everybody who want's to learn it.
Good starting point could be "CC Pill Blues" (by Blind Blake) from "Corey Harris Teaches Blues" DVD. It's quite similar tune in the key of C - standard tuning. You can take it from there and with some modifications make your own version of this one.
I know that I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and rose from the grave to give me life. I know You are the only way to God. So now I want to quit disobeying You and start living for You. Please forgive me, change my life and show me how to know You. In Jesus' name. Amen.
Now, I've been into the blues for quite some years, to my great satisfaction. Yet after a while you start to think that you'll never find something new these days that'll give you goosebumps like these I have right here and right now. Man, this feels just like when I discovered John Lee back when I was a kid. And I thank you, mister Harris! And cudo's to Martin Scorsese for getting me here...
Great stuff. He reminds me a lot of Broonzy with some of his pauses and dynamics. This stuff is easy to play but to get the sound right and the feeling like he does is something very few musicians can, black, white or any. His playing also gets better every year I follow him. More seasoned and smooth. I loved this! thanks for posting this inspiring performance. Made my day a little better
got a chance to watch and meet Corey today at the Blues on the Fox in Aurora, IL. The nicest and most personable artist I've ever met. Great performer, great guitarist, gave one of the most authentic blues performances I've ever seen. We were yelling for him to play Honeysuckle but he said later he couldn't hear us. Nevertheless, amazing musician and amazing guy. Keep it up Corey!
I saw Mr. Harris and his band play, I was front row and he and the entire band were nice enough to talk with me and sign my program. Very nice people, and their music is amazing! :)
loving this...a bit like Taj Mahal
