such a sweet guitar but man, you gotta do something about that amp. that's like putting $50 all weather tires on a Ferrari. A mosrite needs a fender tube amp.
@TheRealSonicYouth Why on earth would you hate tube amps? what amp do you use? They universally sound better than solid state junk aside from a few exceptions like the Roland JC120. Guess what Thrust Moore uses? Fender Twin Reverb, and a Vox AC30. Tube Goodness.
@blastofo Yeah but Im a different guitar player than thurston moore. I just like the sound of a solid state and tube amps are fragile and you have to replace the tubes often and they are expensive. And I dont have loads of money.
@TheRealSonicYouth i have had my tube amp for almost 3 years now, and it still sounds killer WITHOUT the tubes being replaced or any repair work whatsoever!! seriously, tube amps arent just better because of the sound, they FEEL better to play and respond better to your touch.
@blastofo I agree 1,000%. This is combination is sacrilege. I NEVER heard a marshall I liked (except maybe an old plexi) I can never get the high freqs. right. Its either too dull or too trebly. Just downright cheesy and brittle. Whenever I go to a live show i try to find out what amps the band is gonna use so I know if I should stay home or not.
I had one just like it back in the 60s. It was a 1967 Mark I Ventures model. When I had no need for an electric guitar, I traded it for an old beater 12-string and I even though in an amp. That was one of the worst mistakes I ever made!
I bought a Joe Maphis Mosrite about 1966.. Never liked it, didn't sound right, and the neck was too long. The real Joe Maphis sound can be found today on a guitar called the Deke Dickerson Signature Hallmark. It even looks right, too. Thanks.
What side of the bridge did you play the solo on? I've been trying to learn it watching other videos but I can't get my guitar to sound like that when I play close to the bridge.
Great demonstration, Bulldog is one of their best!
sounds like the same song played by the ventures.only worse.very tinny sound . you suck

Great tune...good work. How did you get those "behind the bridge harmonics? ". Is that exclusive to mosrite?

If I had the talent and money this would make me feel like buying one. How would this guitar compare to a Fender?
