@Kymimom ok - just for sport - tell us what about her eye movement, looking to the upper left (remember camera reverses view) is so misleading. As far as I'm aware, the left region of the brain represents the logical, and memory recall functions... She's also not grabbing her ears or covering her neck (manipulators used in lying and defensive behaviour). So what did you see?

Given that Virtue is more important than Imagination which is more important than Knowledge, although the order in which they can be reached starts with Knowledge, I can say I do believe that these drugs can open new insights to Knowledge, and so the rest can be better met. It's interesting that you though you died the second time you tried it, the same thing happened to me the second time. Maybe we're all transported to the same classroom when under the effects, first experience is grade 1, second is grade 2, etc..
I can't use the substance anymore, I get the fear every time now.

@DickCentric I found one in Canada but it was hard. I would never do ayahuasca on my own... I don't think you'd get the most benefit that way. I think you can order things online but I would go the traditional root if you want a lasting change or insight. The shaman does work that doesn't make sense to the rational mind but when you experience it first hand you will understand.
Terence McKenna changed my life. You should try saliva divinorum next. I think it's legal in Canada and most of the USA. It requires a butane lighter, however, it won't burn properly with a lighter flame.

@AaronMahesh3 I found my shaman through a friend of a friend of a friend. It's pretty secretive due to the dangers of the law. There is probably one in your area depending on where you live. I know of a few good shamans and healing centres in Peru, but not in Ecuador.
i find it very sad that someone would look to a drug for 'answers' or a 'spiritual boost'. Spiritual narco tourism for the win? Look you seem like a nice enough person but when you say you're 'not really into the scientific explanations of things' you sound like a fundy. Reccommend that others ingest this powerful chemical compound whilst admitting that you don't understand the brain chemistry... at best this is simply irresponsible. You may be luckier than you know to be 'alive right now'!

There are human senses that modern man does not understand or use anymore. These people know what they are doing. They are wise beyond our understanding. @Decky11 Lady I've done an awful lot of personal research and experimentation with all kinds of psychoactives in my time, including DMT. I'm not against this per se but these experiences are not for everybody and I think its a little facile and, yes slightly irresponsible to advise the world at large that what they really need is a good strong hit of DMT. You worry about your own western mind; tribal shamen may well be wise beyond our understanding but don't confuse yourself for one of them kid.

Psychotropic experience (by using of kind of drugs, whether or not), it's like exchange of a gold ingot for a coin (as it Nikolay Levashov says). Using drugs you just destroy your lighter bodies (soul, ego, etc). Read smart books (not only esoteric).
@artgirlwethepeople I'm not the type of person who speaks at intense speeds. I have always been one who doesn't know how to find the words to express my inner thoughts and feelings. I'm not jacked up on stimulants and I don't have a script. This is who I am. I don't feel like I am slowing down, I feel like my inner self is expanding and I can't seem to find the words in our limited language to express that. @dwk49 I have heard of this philosophy. It's amazing how indigenous people interact with plants. They get to know the plant by doing dietas, only eating the plant with a bit of rice or meat. They learn how the plant interacts with their body and mind. So amazing. I have always felt out of place in this world. @Lawlessuk I feel like you need to do more research into the ancient practices of ayahuasca medicine. Do you know much about it? If you were to experience a ceremony you would no longer hold these views, I am almost certain of that. It's great to look at it from a solely scientific perspective, especially as a male who prefers using the logical brain. When you look at it from a different perspective everything changes.

@GUZTLIK Dude.. chill out. That convo was weeks ago and I'm over my dislike. It wasn't personal. I had a friend who got into this and he couldn't stop hallucinating. He ended up using heroin along with all kinds of meds from his dr for the stress of it and he overdosed eventually.

I too have lost friends to "bad chemistry" and have witnessed a family member lose his mind, permanently, as a result of drug abuse.
I wonder, though, how much you know about DMT? For instance, are you aware that it floods our brains naturally when we dream? Also when we are born and when we die. It's not a typical hallucinogen.
@Lawlessuk Ayahuasca is even more mysterious. I know that your past may deter you from ever looking into it, but the history behind Ayahuasca, and the research done on DMT may surprise you. And maybe it won't. Still, you should look into its history and the research done even on Ayahuasca. There have been some scientific experiments done involving it. So far, all of the effects have been positive including a beneficial increase in serotonin levels present in the brain. It's interesting.
I just like trying to inform people and I am always strongly affected when I see high levels of derision present in a disagreement. I've always been that way. I crave peace in my life and in any situation that, as I see it, I happen to walk into.

She was a good person and a kind person and a wonderful person but she was depressed. She found all of these spiritual connections and life was wonderful... for awhile. But, deep down inside, she was terribly depressed and she chose to no longer feel the pain. I don't have the answer, but in the end, all the drugs and medicines meant nothing.

...the drug will rarely be effective as a miracle substance, able to transform (negative) behavioral patterns in your life. ayahuasca has been used by rainforest tribes for thousands of years, as plant medicine. there are ways to experience it, as part of a ceremony, with experienced teachers and guides, which undermine, in every possible way, the western paradigm on drugs. but it requires mental stability which only few have to the point of truly growing of an ayahuasca experience

My ayahuasca experience was extremely powerful and beautiful and one of the most spiritual experiences of my life. I feel like I have come closer to what "god" really means. Ayahuasca has been used for over 10,000 years.... longer than the bible has existed. If Jesus existed he was a very enlightened being and probably got there on his own. What you are experiencing when under the influence of various plants/mushrooms is the plants way of either enticing you to aid in its reproduction, or to keep you away from it. Alkaloids. Poisons. Toxins. Hence, the term "inTOXICation." I'm a retired hippie, and have done it all. there is no enlightenment that compares to going inside ones own clear mind and communing with the universe.

In the context of new sensations (playing with a kaleidoscope, or shocking oneself for the tingling or numbing) is all well and good if there’s no lingering effects (damaged cells, alter in body chemistry, etc). But if its in the context of lobotomizing oneself (to forget your situation, or environment) seems counterproductive, and bordering on dangerous.

I think science is amazing and has helped our evolution but I think along the way we have forgotten some things... One more thing...food, pesticides, cell phones, microwaves, coffee, etc. have the ability to damage our cells and alter our body chemistry, and some foods/plants can heal those things. @kiaora12 I didn't see machine elves but I did feel a presence of other being. It was mostly a self discovery, I haven't talked with other beings. I think those machine elves were seen on pure DMT.

As far as I'm aware, the left region of the brain represents the logical, and memory recall functions... She's also not grabbing her ears or covering her neck (manipulators used in lying and defensive behaviour). So what did you see?

It's interesting that you though you died the second time you tried it, the same thing happened to me the second time. Maybe we're all transported to the same classroom when under the effects, first experience is grade 1, second is grade 2, etc..

@DickCentric I found one in Canada but it was hard. I would never do ayahuasca on my own... I don't think you'd get the most benefit that way. I think you can order things online but I would go the traditional root if you want a lasting change or insight. The shaman does work that doesn't make sense to the rational mind but when you experience it first hand you will understand.

@AaronMahesh3 I found my shaman through a friend of a friend of a friend. It's pretty secretive due to the dangers of the law. There is probably one in your area depending on where you live. I know of a few good shamans and healing centres in Peru, but not in Ecuador.

@Decky11 Lady I've done an awful lot of personal research and experimentation with all kinds of psychoactives in my time, including DMT. I'm not against this per se but these experiences are not for everybody and I think its a little facile and, yes slightly irresponsible to advise the world at large that what they really need is a good strong hit of DMT. You worry about your own western mind; tribal shamen may well be wise beyond our understanding but don't confuse yourself for one of them kid.

@dwk49 I have heard of this philosophy. It's amazing how indigenous people interact with plants. They get to know the plant by doing dietas, only eating the plant with a bit of rice or meat. They learn how the plant interacts with their body and mind. So amazing. I have always felt out of place in this world. I too have lost friends to "bad chemistry" and have witnessed a family member lose his mind, permanently, as a result of drug abuse.

And maybe it won't. Still, you should look into its history and the research done even on Ayahuasca. There have been some scientific experiments done involving it. So far, all of the effects have been positive including a beneficial increase in serotonin levels present in the brain. It's interesting.

She was a good person and a kind person and a wonderful person but she was depressed. She found all of these spiritual connections and life was wonderful... for awhile. But, deep down inside, she was terribly depressed and she chose to no longer feel the pain. I don't have the answer, but in the end, all the drugs and medicines meant nothing.

i deeply regret to hear that your friend is no longer with you. and don't get me wrong, i am thouroughly opposed to druguse in almost all cases. however, the easiest thing to do is to (without having any personal experience, i assume) generalize all consciousness altering substances as 'drugs' and therefore 'bad'. 70% of the impact of drugs on your life depends on your personal context and motivations. if someone is depressed, and reaches out to drugs as a last resort....

Glad you found something that gave you some degree of peace in the world. I was deeply depressed in the past but I found a way to make my peace with the world and found a few fun and interesting things I can do here. I think I'll pass.
From the way you're talking about this though, it's no surprise that it's not legal. If there's a way to find happiness outside of the shallow, consumer society, the elite will do everything they possibly can to shut it down and silence those who know about it.

My ayahuasca experience was extremely powerful and beautiful and one of the most spiritual experiences of my life. I feel like I have come closer to what "god" really means. Ayahuasca has been used for over 10,000 years.... longer than the bible has existed. If Jesus existed he was a very enlightened being and probably got there on his own. I feel I am taking a different but equally important route.

In the context of new sensations (playing with a kaleidoscope, or shocking oneself for the tingling or numbing) is all well and good if there’s no lingering effects (damaged cells, alter in body chemistry, etc). I think science is amazing and has helped our evolution but I think along the way we have forgotten some things...
