Thank you! I was searching for speech to text online for over an hour and they all wanted to sell me a program. My only problem is I have word 2002 and a cheap microphone. It worked for about 80% of what I was saying, but some words it just completely made up on its own.

You're all wrong their is speech or audio to text programs for deaf people my college uses it, I hate the fact I can't use it because I'd love it for note taking. Damn would I love it for note taking. But my deaf peer is not allowed to copy and paste the information he gets off of the page it autotypes on due to some sort of infringement law

Google is on the verge of being able to use the words in videos as SEO. Come up with a way to convert AUDIO/VIDEO to TEXT and you'll have the market in your hands. Why do you think you can not find such a product yet ....

Speech software know the human voice and tone. You can't just put a microphone to your speakers and "record-to-text". If you can convert TRUE audio to text, on-the-fly. You would be a millionaire. Do you realize how unique content you could get from videos on YouTube and convert to text for autoblogging? Can you imagine implications of SEO?? I have been search and working on such a plugin for wordpress. I can't find a programmer who can help me with this project.

Audio to text will be also good for deaf people. I wonder if any such program exists. Please do tell me. As I have a deaf person in office Masters in Computer Sciences and I wanted to offer him some Lynda trainings but unfortunately there is not Titles/script for such people.

The title of this post reads "convert audio to text" which is why I challenged it. There are NO programs now that convert audio/video files to text.

You're not converting audio to text. You are converting SPEECH to text. I do searches every month for AUDIO to text. Audio to text would mean extracting audio from a YouTube video and have a program automatically convert to unique text content. As of now Google is working on a video/audio to text conversion for search engine page rank. So, anyone reading this; This video refers to speech to text. IF you come up with a program that can convert AUDIO to text, you will be a millionaire.

I was lead here by the misleading title of this video as I wanted to convert a wav file of me talking into text but instead got a 'Speech To Text' tutorial instead. Not to say that this isn't a good tutorial for TTS, it is but the video title is misleading. I hit the thumbs up on your comment, spot on. I guess, presently the only 'Audio To Text' device is a human being performing audio typing?

I think you are wrong , sorry. Search for security companies, they use platforms for phone conversations, is not just speech to microphones.

If you want YouTube audio to be converted to text, why can you just plug in a microphone and allow this free process to do the work?

what if you want to record yourself at one moment them upload it later and have it turned into text? I work at a non profit organization and we r looking for something of that sort.
