@TheDest900 Get pimsleur from the libary or buy it- it'll get you started and your'll get the 'sounds of German, then listen to Deusche Welle, they have free online courses and their pod casts are good- Do mission Europe and THEN Duesche warum nicht.

The trick is to work A LITTLE EVERY DAY, also if you work for 20 min then passivly listen to the German news on DW for 20 min while doing something else.

Also you can try Busuu.co, their good, only you dont get the full audio unless you pay.

This cartoon is rated FSK 6, so it is for children above 6 years old. :) and you could rate it FSK 0. There is nothing bad in this cartoon. In South Park there are many bad words and jews jokes, so that could be FSK 12 or 16. Show it to your kids and they will decide if they like it or not. Never let your kids out of decission.

@4Astaroth your right, my kids will be so unhappy with just spongebob or blues clues, at 4 and 2, Im sure they would be harmed by not watching these cartoons with other kids whose parents lost all since of morality. Your so right how can I not have seen this before, there is abosolutly nothing my kids could enjoy except this. That they are going to turn into drones if I dont let them watch this instead of chosing between watching hulk or spiderman, oh dear I cant believe I made my kids suffer so

@4Astaroth I guess it depends on culture, I know Germans are not so rigid as Americans, and Im going off bible morality which says not to overdrink and I dont think 6 year olds should be seeing a man rip a centerfold with a fully naked woman out his jacket, which is obviously used as a sexual aid.

Even though i know that most of the jokes are based on the dialect, i still would love to hear an english dub.

i thought about making an english dub but most of the atmosphere of werner is based on the dialect .

the fat guy at 3.50 which tells eckart to repair the heating is the "best" character in the whole universe.

The sentence "Water is the basis for life." in standard German would be "Wasser ist die Grundlage für das Leben". In Plattdeutsch, as they speak in the Werner movies, they would say "Water is de Grunnlaag för dat Leven". In Alemannisch here in the southe we say "Wassr isch d'Grundlaag für's Lääbe."

It is indeed German, it's a form of the dialect called "Plattdeutsch" which is spoken in the area around Schleswig in the very north of Germany. In Germany, we have around 8-10 main dialects which divide again in sub dialects. You can sometimes even hear from which village somebody comes :-P

I, for instance, live in the very southwest and we speak "Alemannisch". (continued in a 2nd post)
