Somebody below said the audio stinks and I agree it isn't great. However, it is clear enough to hear how damn good these guys were. I don't really hear too much ensemble singing like this anymore except for things like High School musical. I definitely miss this in pop music as it goes down these days. Believe thes guys were from Pittsburgh What an awesome song by the way. Talent wins out even when the audio isn't up to it.
@joemysteryguitar What's great about them and the vocal groups of the mid and late 60s, is that they carried some of the Do Wop from the 50s and blended it with the Mersey Beat from England, and even a touch of folk. It made these sort of teen ballads special and of the time; romance with a tingling air of innocence and magic. I don't know if the miracle of the 50s and 60s scenes will ever come around again, our culture is far too divided and cynical.
Hello. Please forgive the cliche but those really were the days, so carefree, so uplifting. I was in high school, surrounded by great friends and the BEST MUSIC EVER MADE! Peace & Best Wishes to ALL.
@Tonithenightowl I could'nt have said it any better! Even though I was 5 when this came out I love it and danced to it as my sister had this 45,and 3 years later,I had a crush on the lead (Bill Burkett & the guy next to him,man what smooth vocals he had ! And he STILL sends chills up my spine!!
@RedSoxFan4eva1000 His back up voice was superb, stole the show. Glad you agree lol I was 13 when this came out and I knew I was hearing something special.
COOL...will add to the list that Pet Clark nails it...better (and inexplicably rarer) version...but never saw this one (which is still a great side by any means)....5*****
Man..How I miss those days! I was 5 in 65 and this was my favorite song my folks bought me the 45 and I played it to death! Everything in this video is pure class.talent vocals & pitch perfect! Thie music from the 60s & 70s will be played for ever, unlike the (music) of the 90s & today..I had a mad crush on Bill Burkett (lead) for a long time, saw them at the Boston Garden in 1972!!
@RedSoxFan4eva1000 I was 3 in 1965 and probably heard this along with all the other great tunes of that time. I'd never ask my parents the names of these songs but would listen to them and love them! I just heard this one recently but had heard "You Are My Special Angel" for decades! I can't brag enough on these songs!!
@davie12 This may be the reason for back problems today, but back in the day nobody talked much about teenage obesity. Of course, we didn't have the internet either, and only about 4 stations on the TV.
Great song, and I'll take the brunette. What fun and energy, Today, what do you have? Nothing, I say nothing! Any arguement?

Nobody could go-go dance better than Goldie Hawn on Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In. Should have been an action figure. Bye, bye, Barbie.

How can any drug be a better high than this kind of music? When I die, just prop me up against an oldies jukebox.

Great song! I agree the Vogues version is better. I like Petula Clark too. This is music from my generation. I was 17 then.

While the lead singer has a spectacular voice the back up singer to his left has the voice that sends chills up the spine.

Did people really dance like that? No wonder there are so many middle aged people with back problems lol.
Petula wrote the song too... and still does a great version in concert.
