Seema absar sahiba, thanks for pointing about the lyricist Raja Mehdi Ali Sahib, No doubt about the lyrics he created are superb. I feel melody is created through a team work. Lyrics of a song like a beautiful flower the odor of which is exposed to the world by beautiful voice and composition.

Evergreen song.Gone through all comments but sad to say that nobody appreciated lyricist Raja Mehdi Ali Kahn.Freinds nor good music composers nor good singers can make good songs without good lyrics.

The time has changed, so the beautiful diction of poetry changed too. Raja Sahib, Shakeel, Hasrat, Rajindar, Indever with their co-music directors have a great contribution to Indian cinema.Unfortunately this is fading out, but beauty never dies. It will revive again.Raja Sahib was born in Karmabad,Gujrat Pakistan and was a contemporary of Manto.In early 40s he was working with India Radio.His date of birth 1928-wikipedia,is doubtful.Would somebody trace out his DOB to correct the record?
