  • Brilliant. I think this could apply to a lot of right wing retards in Britain as well as the USA now. To quote Bill Hicks himself "Britain is an ancient culture and civilisation and America a young one. Rather than us having to grow and evolve we will bring you all down to our level" How right Bill was.

  • Oh my god. I love this man.

  • See the controversy this has caused is EXACTLY what Bill would want, to change the rules, to tell the truth to the conservatives, nationalist, communists and liberals and just watch the truth hit like a match to petrol and laugh at the resulting fire

  • wish show did he say this?

i have some shows here, and i saw all of them, and this isnt on any of those i got

  • what a comic titan!! god we miss him won't see his like again...funny and true, magnificent timing. Yes if freedom means anything should include the freedom to do and say things that people may find offensive - as long as you are not crying fire in a crowded theatre or inciting hatred against minorities, a sense of offense should not trump free speech.

  • love everything about this joke/vid. from Bills stage presence, to his facial expressions, to the voice he does. Then when his hair flps up and down at the 1 min mark. "Ya dont burn it'

  • The best defense against right wing retards and blind patriot degenerates is comedy like that of Bill Hicks, and George Carlin. May they rest in peace.

  • TO BURN THE FUCKIN FLAG

  • His point is not 2 burn the flag, but if someone dose, it's their personal freedom! So calm down, it's just a piece of cloth.

  • ".....he didn't die for the fucking flag, it's a piece of cloth..... he died for what the flag represents, which is, THE FREEDOM.... TO BURN - THE FUCK-ING FLAG!!!!!!"

If people still don't "get it" after having it explained to them like this, then they are a lost cause.......

  • I Can't believe some of these comments. People STILL MISS TE POINT. That is where bill's anger came from.. right there. We miss him. His intelligence was intense.

  • @blair91234 Ur the hipster fag. He did more 4 this country than u ever could know. Bill is 1 of a kind! dont fuckin forget it!

  • I love Bill Hicks but I hate flag burners. The thing I really find distasteful is the attitude of flag burners, not the act. It's a misguided way of getting a point across. People who burn flags are effectively burning freedom.

  • @Iridium237 And exercising their freedom to do so. Ironic, huh?

  • @Iridium237 I agreed with everything you said except the last sentence. People who burn flags--although they may or may not be douchebags--are only emboldening freedom through their actions, not subduing it.

  • @Iridium237 : WTF? No they're not. They're making a policital statement. Which you may or may not agree with. But they should have the right to make that statement - that's the point Hicks is making.

  • Best part is at 0:58 !!! LOL XD

  • Hes got a great point! We need more comedians with balls

  • Same response from people who dont like the "Ground Zero" Mosque. The fact that it is allowed shows that America is great compared to an Islamic shithole which would ban a similar situation.

  • Love my flag, if someone burned it they'd be asked to leave, if they refused they'd lose a knee, simple as.

  • @Getaliferdietrying

So, you would break someones knee to protect a piece of fabric? Nice.

  • 8 peoples daddy died for that flag

  • "ooh god did that bring up some fucking retarded emotions." LOL everytime.

  • bill hicks is a hero. ;D

  • Um, I personally don't have a problem with the flag burning thing but when people say "my dad died for that flag" I think hey mean/imply that they are talking about "what it represents." Just as when you openly burn the flag you are "implying" that you hate what it represents. But hey "freedomm of speech."

  • @DoNotBeHighandMighty That's the point, obviously hicks knows what they really mean, hes just making fun of them. Like you said, people have died for what the flag represents, which is, among other things, the freedom to actually burn the flag if a person so chooses to. I'm not sure of the specifics of the law, but if an american citizen wants to burn an american flag on his property, whether hes unhappy with the current state of america and feels its a worthy expression of his dislike....

  • @DoNotBeHighandMighty ....or because he just wants to, he should not be arrested and jailed, or given any shit by anyone else. that's why america is what it is, we have freedoms such as those. if you dont like flag burning, dont burn a flag. if someone else does, then they can, as long as theyre not making it problematic for other citizens.

  • Germany same thing:

"In Deutschland steht das Verbrennen von Flaggen der Bundesrepublik Deutschland oder ihrer Länder unter Strafe (Verunglimpfung des Staates und seiner Symbole, § 90a StGB). Auch der Versuch ist strafbar."

    Its so true. Love him.

  • thank you! this is what i have been feeling ever since a couple of moths ago when i saw some one who was put in juvenile detention, not for one year, not for two year, but for 5 FUCKING YEARS! all because he burnt a fucking flag! is it just me or is that fucked up! this was in Australia. a place that prides its self for there "freedom of speach"

  • Hey buddy! Let me' tell ya something! Hahah!!

  • The flag of the United States of America represents everything evil. Oppression, imperialism, war, domination, slavery, thievery.

  • @Jasonthegaiface The American flag undeniably represents America's highest ideals, which some days it does or does not live up to. This is true of any nation's flag. If I burned a French flag, for example, I would be denouncing everything France stands for, not anything France has done to me. While America the nation is indeed guilty of each of these wrongs, Communism hasn't kept the former Soviet Republic from committing the very same.

  • @Jasonthegaiface

    RIGHT ON!

"my daddy died for that flag!"

yeah, and as a NATIVE american, ask us what we think of the flag..

  • @Jasonthegaiface Dont forget it also stands for pussy a lot of pussy!

  • @Jasonthegaiface and Islam represents all good things. i guess in your mind.

what Mohammed do to people of mecca after they surrendered

  • bill hicks says what many americans feel but are afraid to say.

  • i miss this dude

  • case fucken closed! fucken racist niggers

  • He is my fucking Hero

  • Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the correct way to dispose of a flag to burn or bury it, rather than just toss it in the dumpster?

I assume Hicks is talking about burning a perfectly good flag in protest.

  • @Atak0fth3Umpalumpas what he's making fun of is the quasi facist over the top patriotism that started in the 1980s as a reaction to the new left.

  • What does he say at the end? Lectured by who? (I'm not a native English speaker)

  • lectured by a pale demon

  • Comment removed

  • ofcourse u can burn and destroy symbols, it's so easy and pisses the shit out of nationalists.

especially greek nationloving orthodoxworshipping pieces of ignorant shit like you.

  • You cant burn or somehow destroy symbols. People who cant understant that are totally possesed. Child of NWO.

  • @asteriostia SCOTT HALL WAS INFERTILE!

  • fucking legend

  • Bill was the Jesus from Hell.

  • case.fucking.closed

  • Hey I'm British, I'll burn my flag if I want to, my next-door-neighbor has an American flag on top of their house, they are NOT American.

Regardless of the country and what their flag represents, it's just a piece of cloth, and people should feel free to burn it if they should ever wish to do so, without consequences.

  • One of my favourite jokes. And perfectly delivered.

  • he kind of looks like Alex Jones..

  • Looks like JD from Scrubs, with a little John Loroquette mixed in.

  • LOL, I've always thought that.

  • alex jones is full of shit

  • You have to love the man's sense of irony and power of observation.

  • "power of observation"...well said

  • I hate all this shit about the flag. People freak when it brushes the ground! Very well said Bill!

  • Case fucking closed...love it!

  • its awesome, apparently, beside reading terrence mckenna, probably he was influenced by noam chomsky, which is note worthy and venerable, in a way

  • Didn't he once describe himself as "like Noam Chomsky but with dick jokes"?

  • i think so something like that, yeah.

  • ROFL bill we miss u...

  • like the american lee evans lol

  • I think he had a bit more to say than Lee Evans.

  • I thought it was quite clear I meant his mannerisms not his material... Saying their material is the same would be stupid.

  • lmao fuck mann hes a fuckin genius

  • The pity is that great men like Hicks are dead and fucktards like Bush are still runnin around dribblin' shit.

  • And now George Carlin is dead too. Pretty much this is the end of stand-up comedy.

  • @Indrius

There's still Tim Minchin but he spends most of the time sitting in front of a piano. So it wouldn't be considered stand up comedy.

  • @Indrius Joe Rogan? There are still a few out there : )

  • @Izahdnb Yep, I know him, but he's not as good in my opinion. There are two more that I appreciate: David Cross and Doug Stanhope. The latter worked with Joe Rogan.

  • @Indrius Well I wanted to write down Doug Stanhope, don't know why I typed Joe Rogan haha. Gonna look up David Cross.. btw I live in the Netherlands and there are a few true comedians here aswell, but they speak dutch ^^

  • @Izahdnb David Cross is one of those talents that you recognize instantly. Extremely good satire. He released only two albums. And the third is coming in May 25th (at last).

Yep, been to Amsterdam in February. I gotta admit, Holland is the best country in the world, no joke :)

  • @Indrius and a logical world

  • @Indrius there is still doug stanhope.. who is our last Hope very much pun intended!

  • @Indrius No, there's Lewis Black or Bill Maher. Let's say stand-up is on half flame, till the next geniuses. :)

  • @Indrius check out joe rogan and doug stanhope.

  • @Indrius

Check out Doug Stanhope, there is yet hope :D

  • @menomies LOL I made that post 2 years ago, and I also mentioned David Cross and Doug Stanhope a few posts later (I'm big fan of theirs), and people are still suggesting me to check them out :)

  • @Indrius Sad but True.

  • @Indrius I absolutely love Carlin and Hicks, but stand up is far from dead. Louis CK, Bill Burr, Doug Stanhope, Patrice O'Neal, Jim Jefferies, Ricky Gervais... there's a lot of really great comedians putting out a tonne of great material right now.

  • Comment removed

  • @Indrius You will just have to wait til' I'm eighteen. I promise you I will make the next Bill Hicks.

  • @NWFWMbudwieser why wait? :) Bill Hicks started when he was just 16 years old.

  • look up steve hughes. im not sure, but, he may be the hicks of our time

  • cheers for the heads up about Steve Hughes mate, just watched him for about an hour, killer stuff, got a new fav now. later.
