I really can see that eastern lower brass is a beast Ballou has been beat wow ...I know ballou lower brass is very strong with them block chords But in melody eastern might be on top 4 nw. Great job eastern love the cleanliness and powerful sound of ur lower brass line

As for the SU sound...I AM goin to Southern so sum crank neva hurt ne bodi. furthermore, them piccs was crankin...&& I dare sumbodi too say sumthin about mii 2-man picc section!!!
Largo old name was The Roaring Machine until are new band director came in and called us The Blue and White Marching Machine....the old name was play out
Its not played out.... it was a very good UNIQUE name that relates to thier mascot.... Now they are gona be trying to say that they are the "Real Machine" and not Eastern lol

Southerns playing style is the hardest way to play, only few bands who play like they do it right (Old school St Aug HS), U cant tell me when Delaware St had that BD and ended up sounding like a smaller( and cleaner ) SU and say that sounded bad lol..

yea, but why take another band's name. i know high school's bite off colleges but Eastern is a legend in the DC area so I guess your director must not be from around here. I'mma tell you, when he announced yall at the botb people in my area were like wtf! my uncle and few of his boys were a lil heated. yall might wanna let your bd know the deal.
i give alot of props to Largo, im so happy to see a style of band thats not found anywhere in MD (SU Style). if Surrattsville was there, Largo would put SHS to shame if they both played thier neck (which is based off of Southerns)
But what gets me is, why do they try to play like Southern when Southern have like 300 people while Largo have no more than 30 people? And the thing that gets me some more is the new band director at Crossland is trying to get them to play like Southern 2 and they only have 1 Trumpet... These Band Directors up here need 2 stop trying to have these bands play like Southern because it will never happen. And if this was at Wise High School, Where is Wise Band?
it takes awhile for a band to mature, Largo is still young, Crossland is a new band. any band cant do much with 1 trumpet. EHS plays like NSU but they have weak trumpets, but work with what they have, and its working for them.

But what I meant by it was that these bands (to me) try to blast and play extra loud, without trying to make sure they are in tune, without worrying about there tone. And it seem like a content pattern with most of these band up here (not all). However, I concluded that from students that want to just blast and play high notes but can't do it or they just simple say they want to go to Southern.
True. Reasons for that can go eitther way. From the director not teaching the kids or molding their sound, or the kids not retaining or simply practicing and applying. Its a give and take that some schools suffer from
And there is nothing wrong with Morgan, their are still plenty of people who want to come to Morgan for the Music Program because we actually play very clean when compared to most bands and we are not a "Hop on Band" for example some people call DSU a baby version of SU.
Largo should have stayed seated for that shit but where the hell Eastern got this sound from... They really have improved dramatically. And Ballou they sounded good to. DC Bands making a serious come back

Oh absoluetley, MSU music program is one of the best in this area, on the low, but sometimes the band won't represent that fully, in my opinion.
