@emz0122 i think it's because the producers were suppose to end the series back in season 5 and when the CW called them back to do another season, they weren't prepared for it (I mean, this is the same company that ended the series and now they wanted to renew it?). Also, when season 6 was ordered there was no guarantee that they would make it past 13 episodes so they needed to be able to wrap things up - again and not create any drawn out story lines like before.
