This was a great video. It gave me what I needed to make my decision. In some or a lot of the before and afters the changes are subtle but Utx appears to be replacing everything closer to real life. Also I saw it adds towns where they werent before. I think a nice upgrade. I liked the rocky mountain before/after. Im thinking of also going with a cloud enviroment upgrade I think rex 2.0 it is. I just wish FSX ran smoother in general its got some issues.

very nice video. Im deciding to get an add on and Im looking at UTX. Im wanting a few more roads and rivers. Now that it looks like Microsoft flight has been put on hold again I cant for that forever. This looks pretty nice I think its enough to keep me interested in FSX.

i'm not really clever when it comes to graphic cards and processors but i love flight simulator (even if i'm rubbish haha). i use fsx on a laptop and have 2 ghz, an ati radeon 3450 ( i think ) graphic card. just wandering if UTX europe or america would be suitable for my laptop. Thank you

You should turn off the light effects, it looks much better with it but its able to see a diffrence between the standert and the UTX+GEX graphic

Wich one would you advise get for europe?

UTX hits my FPS really hard around New York City......unusable. I'm using an Intel i7, 2.6ghz, flying helicopters. I've tried the tweaking using the sliders.....anyone have a suggestion. The night lights are so much more realistic, but right now unusable.

@jcbak I would search out NickN's posts about tweaking. He speaks specifically about UTX, and how you can tweak it to provide better performance while still having a gorgeous simulator.

@jcbak Same cpu, what I did is overclock the cpu to 4 GHz. Runs very nice now.

@jcbak, what video card are you using? I've found ATI Radeon cards suck for Directx. They do really well for Open GL. I thought it was just FSX but then I ran another game using Directx using the same ATI Radeon 5770 and then again with Open GL and fps and overall graphics were much smoother using Open GL. I'll likely buy a Nvidia card and use my 5770 in my HTPC.

@desmond225 for the most part this has improved my FPS in many areas. It all depends on your setup. If you struggle with FSX, this may not be your golden ticket mate.

Thanks for the nice video. This got me thinking now. Should I get both, Ultimate Terrain X Europe and Ground Environment X: Europe, to get the best out of the scenery or does one of those suffice? If I'm getting only one, which one should it be? Thank you very much.

@DifferentFur it depends entirely on where you fly mate. For me, North America is the most useful as I find myself flying there the most.... this may not be the case with you. I tend to center most of my packages in improving the scenery in North America.

@ccguy92 that is a feature of the bloom. It will affect framerate depending on your system and whether you are using DX10 or DX9.

@Aeroshell08 it highly depends on the individual product. Generally speaking, no, as long as you follow any instruction with all of your products.

@ArianG93 all three products (FEX, UTX AND GEX) are compatible with REX. FEX will however conflict with REX, so you will have to adjust features of both if you want to use them at the same time.

@poida84 FTX covers smaller expanses and has a different aspect. They do however complement each other. I often fly with both. For example, if I leave PNW, I will be flying in terrain covered by the products in the video. It works great!

Yeah it's a really great addons with all those installed together but the frame rates will be terrible right?

@Tranzorr actually, I have found that my FPS improves. They have better autogen calls than the default terrain.

@Tranzorr, since these products each cover different aspects, they all complement each other and have features specifically FOR each other. I, and Xavier (who did the video), completely installed these products.
