What if it was a drawing with tons of shading and detail in it, That would require a tablet as you would keep having to go through all the tools such as opacity and brush size which would make it take forever.
Yeah you can draw with a mouse, but it's much harder. I advice lowering the sensitivity, since when you draw your hand is used to moving a lot, but when using a mouse you only do small moevments to move the mosue.
@Rickypr7 But drawing with a mouse can come with one advantage, even with owning a tablet--with large brushes. I find that it is sometimes easier to use the mouse for large-scale work than a pen. I have both and use both. Having them both as open options are so great, when you learn to use them for your own purposes.
Drawing with a mouse is good but making something professional would most likely require a tablet or something as drawing with a mouse is rather time consuming. You can still get good results with a mouse tho. I get quite a few..I guess.
yeah i know that my friends say that i am learning relly fast and i need to learn how to draw so i saw that you used the pencil to sketch it out and i didnt relly see well how you made the sketch dissapear (the red sketchs)
wow, your lines are so straight, and ur using the pencil. when i draw with the mouse, i always have to use the paintbrush with high smoothing to get ok lines (or curves rather, due to the smoothing)
depends on the desk, at work yeah i dont use a mousepad, i do recommend it though because i find that mouse pads give the mouse a little bit of 'grip' and it isnt uber sensitive as it may be on a slick table.
Wow thanks for the quick reply! I will get one I do have a very slick table, coming to think of it I have never used a mouse pad! I'll get one and try it. Thanks!
get the old school ones made of that spongie rubber/fabric ... theres like some 'gaming' mouse pads out now that are like very fine and are supposed to encourage speed mousing so that probably wouldnt do you much good +its like 50 bucks. lol
I have this giant mask that my whole movie fits under.. its not really the most efficient or even necessary method but i like to always be concious of my canvas boundaries and im anal like that.
if you want to be efficient then i'm pretty sure you need a tablet... unless your just SO fucking good with a mouse

hell no luis sucks at animating, but he's good in story telling.

Never, EVER say luis sucks at animating >=O

i've seen artists that are much better than him >:(
cyberwurst 3 years ago
Oh, whom? You realise we're talking FLASH here right?
Wolfears2 3 years ago 2
of course! take stamper, mindchamber or the swain for example! D:<
cyberwurst 3 years ago
Luis is just as good as stamper or the swain, and Mindchamber's an artist, not an animator.

you make good tutorials, but you sound so god damn BORED lol

Youre right, although this was probably the first tutorial i ever made.. so its pretty bad

just a question here do you sketch it out on one lkayer and then make it on another one
Greatdictator 4 years ago
yeah usually i do that. i used to draw it 'naked' without sketches but it comes out shit.

Question is the mouse pad really required? I work of my desk, does that effect the optical mouse?

Nice job here, personally I underate those outline sketches way too much for animation, but then again I probably need more practise period! XD
BTW what's with masking the whole movie? Are you doing each shot as it's own movie clip?
shinkosai 5 years ago
you should get "ZD soft screen recording software" it's free and it allows you to record what the screen displays
oxygenwaster201 5 years ago
yeah i have it actually... but im ghetto and i like doing it this way better.
LuisNG 5 years ago
i draw with all mouse animating, though i prefer wacom, you can do about all the stuff that you can do with tablet except for presure sensetivity.
