You should invest in some cheap land with a well for your water supply. In these parts one can pick up an acre with well and septic for 45k. That way you can park without any hassels.
One thing you never mentioned and it is very important. Do you have weapons to protect everything you have. Remember when SHTF you have to have a way of keeping what you have.
If things get this bad I don't think expressway gates or law enforcement will be an issue. You do have to get out and away from the population. A nice small very secluded property in the hills or wilderness will do. Thinking ahead of course to drill a well for water and ensuring you've built some sort of dwelling, making sure your totally stocked with seeds to grow your own foods will ensure that emergency holdover resources are of merit. No less than 6 mo. stock is required.
I'm looking at ways to live a sustainable life style. Solar - can get several panels up on the roof run the wires down and got it. I have some freeze dried food I invested in; veggies, fruit, rice, other stuff. I'm going to go partially off the grid, I say partially becuase I live in the suburbs and don't have much of a choice.

I'm fairly poor myself, I make roughly $225 a week, (I get paid in two week interviels though) I usually spend about 150-200 of my money on survival supplies, (although luckily since I'm 18 I live with family and have very few bills, most people aren't as lucky unfortunatly) try rotating what you spend each week, for example one week buy a whole bunch of food (rice is great since a cup can serve a family) another week buy ammo or medical supplies, it's tough when you're poor.
awesome video. i'm gonna get a list going right now.
There was research done that suggests plastic water bottles being stored isn't too great. when it stored for a long time, everything around the water bottle gets in through the plastic over time. I guess it wouldn't matter if its stored right though.
Thanks again. A lot of people are getting ready to fight, but not getting ready to survive.
Everybody should prepare now while they have the chance. We could be quarantined at any minute and locked in a FEMA camp if caught out looking for food and water. TAKE HEED!!

Is this guy for real. you actually think that you will not be able to get any food for as long it will take you to eat through that food. You would be the only people left in the country if you are the only one that has years worth of food stored and the rest of the country did not. This video is bizarre.
to kathym12: normally I would agree with you....but the state of the world economy is so unstable now that even people like myself (not a survivalist, just an average person) are getting very nervous about world events....banks colapsing, auto industry colapsing, high unemployment, the printing of millions of American paper money with nothing to back it.
Dude, I appreciate your time putting up this video, but it's some retarded advice. Invest that $ in military mre's. I've lived 3 days before off 1 mre. Cans rust, leak, burst, they're heavy, hard to tote around, overly salted full of chemicals and the list goes on. I agree with everything else...except for the food BS. I have 43 cases of mre, and I suspect if I had to, I could survive 9 months or more off those.
Ok peeps, listen up here - avoid this advice at all costs. If you want to stock-up and "be prepared" buy military MRE's, 12 meals per case, they are 100% balanced and fortified, last for years, compact and MUCH more convenient that lugging around 1000's of cans of overly salted, processed bullshit in cans. Avoid the "buld rice/wheat/flour" hype too....simply BAD advice. Military MRE's and water period. Don't fall for the hype. Who the F^CK want's to eat a thousand pounds of rice!!
MREs suck man. Yea you can live on it, but you will live like a constipated pig with a sour stomach the whole time. And if you had kids like he does they are not going to be satisfied eating MRE crap.
Rice is one of the healthiest things you can eat. Wheat is used for cooking practically anything so it is very useful. Not trying to argue but clearly you've never lived outside the suburbs.
another thing he forgot was: antibiotics, esp broad spectrum ones. a good emergency medical handbook, things to suture up cuts and antibacterial products like listerine that can be used on cuts as well...learn to make lye soap if u can and homemade laundry detergent (borax, arm&hammer laundry baking soda, etc.) u can google the recipe. Also u cant store things w/yeast in them, can kill ya. keep yeast separate & bake later.
we may have to learn to live like the native americans..they grew their own food, lived off the land, hunted, fished, and their homes were mobile..they just folded up and followed the food source such as the roaming buffalo back then...too late for us on that one! also, hungry people are gonna find u & it wont be pretty..also u will be enemy of the gov't as u will be persecuted, so are u ready for a fight w/the military? point is communities working together are better than individual hording.
another thing about storing things like flour...people dont like to know it & u cant see it right away but most store flour/cornmeal etc has bugs/eggs in it...not sure how it gets in there, but its there before u get it home and i had some vacuum stored and few yrs later i opened it & saw the bugs had hatched and were there..now that may not bother some of u but..aackk i cant eat it, lol
Canned food spoils./the cans start gassing up & leaking after the expiration date around a yr or 2./mine did & i had to throw it all out./even water spoils if u dont treat it as it will stagnate/some stuff u can store for long periods & is a temporary solution but u need hunting, fishing, gardening skills to survive. Even a generator runs on gasoline./what if there are no gas stations open or money collapses? learn survival skills, learn about plants & other helpful things 4 worse case scenario.
Ah find a way to grow your garden. You food is not going to last that long and your body is going to be aching for some good food. Canned food is only going to make it so long for you.
We live in Iowa, it's hot and humid here in the summer and below zero in the winter. I am wondering what kinds of food we could safely store in our 5th wheel? I am even wondering about canned food out there.
Do not forget batteries. A good supply of quality alkalines. And, a supply of next gen "Eneloop" or "Recyko rechargeable batteries. These new rechargeable retain 80% capacity for one year and ~40% after two. A good foldaway solar panel a foot crank generator, and a hand cranked radio. Great video! thanks!
isn't there a risk of botulinum if you seal the food airtight? that bacteria cannot live where there is oxygen (it is an anaerobic bacteria). Its toxin is the strongest toxin known, and it will not be destroyed by cooking the food. 4 youths in Norway died on a sailingtrip when eating reheated peasoup which they had sealed up airtight. Or is this not anything one need to worry about? Any idea of how high risk it is to get botulinum growth?
Foreign troops are already stationed in America, mostly in the southern states. But don't expect that kind of scenario until at least 2011.
The first concern has to be money devaluation. If your dollar buys less you struggle to get food and water. That's why you need to be stocking up RIGHT NOW. The dollar still has buying power. WHO already said there will be a massive pandemic happening in late 2009. It will be worse than pig flu and untreatable so prepare for that scenario too.
Great video. Could you post where you get the food-grade buckets, mylar bags and oxygen absorbers? Also, what do you think about solar panels for power, since generators attract unwanted company?
First of all, local law enforcement will NOT ALLOW an exodus out of the cities and into the countryside. Chicago now has almost 300 expressway gates to KEEP PEOPLE IN.
Secondly, those of us who have lived in rural areas, DO NOT WANT scared, citifolk in rundown campers seeking asylum. A Motorhopme with 30 gallons of water will last about 2 days.
It will take more then the police to stop people, it will take the National Guard. I have been front running this storm and will be out of town long before the rest of the people realize whats happening. Also, the thirty gallons is just the start. I have cases of bottled water and the Sierra Nevada mountain range has lots of clean running streams.
@Economic4caster You are a fucking idiot aren you. If i seen your family with your role back i would kill your wife and kids and eat all your food while you watch me eating it then i would cut your throat. paranoid redneck!
It will take 48 hours for the national guard to set up check points in the average metro; maybe a week to enforce martial law (but it will be declared soon after the event).
Those 48 hours are the golden hours to evacuate. It will not work to try and haul a rig out at that time, if you live in the city. Too many people with the same idea. You'll wind up out of gas and sitting on the highway in your trailer.
After those 48 hours, you will be under martial law and stuck, without freedom.
Those are great suggestions. I had to buy things that my family would eat. I do have quite a bit of canned meat. Tuna, chicken and roast beef are good sources of protein. My kids are picky eaters.
Good ideas but not exactly a healthy mix of stock:
Very low amount of "protiens" and "fiber"...and too high amount of poor carbs(White Rice and White Flour) and "sugar" products.
I would recommend a much higher concentrate of legumes such as various Beans and the like. I would also look at powderd milk and or whey protien. In addition, dried fruit and such for fiber.
I'm on the same level. also preparing in my motor home. Nice to see, and good tip's. thnx. 5* . Good luck in the bad time to come for you and your family.
We were given an older 5th wheel (1987 coachman) from my father in-law. It had a soft spot in the rear floor. We thought about just getting rid of the thing. I am re-thinking that decision. I am going out back tomorrow to take the cover off. Funds are too low to buy a newer one so we may just make the necessary repair and utilize it just as you are doing. I have a lot of things prepared even "bug out" but feel a bit stupid for not thinking about the camper as part of my plans. Thanks
Good video, although I tell people now just to get the food and store it in a cool place. While the mylar bag is great to preserve the integrity of the food over a long period, I don't believe people will need to store the food very long before they use it.

Wake up people. President and Mrs. Obama are the only ones in Washington working for the Am. people. Both legislative houses and many in his own cabinet (and some supreme court judges) are working backroom deals that are counter to the prosperity and success of the Am. people. Citizens support your president, with our support he can take back the money stolen from us by the "banker" and return it to the people.
I did watch The Obama Deception and that is "a crock of shit!" (albeit with a few valid points, however misdirected). But please, please, please magichandpuppet keep doing your research and soon, soon, soon you shall have your vision back.
I find the Obama Deception a repeat of all of Alex Jones other films. It will do nothing to the movement but make you couch potatoes of the 21st century.
I would bet few are more prepared than me. I have food (bucket packed in mylar), water, guns & ammo, health & toiletries, fuel everything I need to live off the grid for a year. I even bought items to barter with (small bottles of whiskey & vodka). But lately Ive been feeling foolish for investing so much time & money in this. As bad as I think things were going to get every time I look around I see that Ive been wrong. I guess I need someone to tell me Im right or just being crazy.
You have done the right thing. We all need at least six months to a yr supply which is how people did generations ago. I have been stocking up off & on for the past two yrs and my gut feeling gets stronger everyday that the worst is yet to come. It is the ones that are not prepared you have to worry about. You sure wont feel stupid when the crash hits which is not if but, when. Buying things to barter with too is a great idea. Keep stocking up & don't stop.
Just wanted to add that coffee is essential too. A crisis could wear you out, especially if you have to be on the run. And if you have kids, you have to stay focused even if your energy is gone!
Very important: I also have recent photo's of my children in a waterproof plastic bag. Just in case of turmoil, when they might get lost in the crowd. That would be my worst nightmare!
I have some questions about the flour. First of all the problem with storing flour is the possibility of attracting mice. That's why I only keep a small amount of it.
And then you'll need an oven, but chances are that during a crisis there will be no electricity. Gas will run out too, so then you'll have to make bread like they do in India: mix the flour with water and bake it on a flat stone. I'm just wondering if it's gonna be eatable at all....
The one thing I don't understand is why an economic or monetary collapse would affect our ability to get water. I can't imagine a scenario where basic city services would not be provided. Don't get me wrong, storing some extra water is a good idea just in case of the unexpected, especially storms or terrorist attacks. I just don't see how an economic collapse would affect the city's ability to provide water.
In the beginning of the video I said "Help you prepare for any disater that could happen here in the United States". I am not ruling out anything in this enviroment anymore. Even an economic collapse would put a huge strain on the Governments ability to provide the basic necessities.
Look what happened to Germany, Russia, Argentina, etc. When hyperinflation hits, the cost of everything goes up 10 fold. Farmers will not be able to sell their products, food is too expensive to produce and get to the store shelves, etc.
Yes, I do. As a matter of fact she has a degree in sociology. She has been telling me of the impacts that this will have on our society. "Total culture shock" is the words she used.
My wife and me have prepare about 6 months worth of food, wather and other important items.
We took another approach about the types of foods that we chose. We chose a lot of foods in cans that have their own water & juice that don't require adding additional water. You're definitely on the right track, though.
We know a lot of people think I'm crazy doing this but we would rather be safe than sorry. Besides, if a food shortage doesn't pan out, we can alway reuse what we've stored.
"We know a lot of people think I'm crazy doing this" So those who did it for Y2K were not crazy as well? I wonder what happend to their spoled food from Y2K?
Y2K was not a real crisis. People prepared for something that they thought was going to happen. This is a real crisis. It is happening right before your very eyes. Banks failing. Auto industry failing. Two trillion dollar budget deficit. Record foreclosures. Unemployment soaring. Need I say more?
Y2K was made into a real crisis by people like Alex Jones; listen to his broadcast on 12/31/99. We had unemployment crisis in 1974, 1983 and 1993 that didn't result in storing food. Also, many auto industires had failed throughout the 20th century and GM will continue to operate but with 75% of gov controll. Banks have failed and the dollar has gotten weaker since 1971. So yes, you do need to say more.
Oh and let us not forget the savings and loans crisis in 1980's where people brought houses at an interest rate as high as 18%. Do that today and Alex Jones will cry out this the end. It will take alot more before Americans have to resort to food stocking. Also, does it not concern you that there are people making money off of people like you on the Alex Jones show when it comes to food shortage? Like E-Food's direct? They're a business you know, not some Red-Cross.
I have a degree in business economics. I have also studied international finance. There is nothing in the history of this nation that you can compare the likes of this crisis too. You have to understand the credit markets and what greases the wheels of our economy. The Government can not continue to spend hundreds of billions of dollars and have falling tax revenues for very long without a dislocation in the treasury bond market. The end result is simple math.
You're not getting the point. We have been through worse situations in America in the past 40 years. Don't go on about having a degree in economics because the subject is, will storing food be necessary? I say no because you guys are buying into the fear mongers like Alex Jones.
Let me repeat again, We have been through worse in America to not have to stock food. So why now? Unemployment was higher in 74 & 81, rates were higher in the 80's & the dollar was always falling.
Excuse me for a moment. I believe dramaticsoul has said it is safe to insert my tube again. As a matter of fact I should go ahead and run through my stockpiles and forget about the possibility that there may be an earthquake, civil unrest or such. And our government will protect us from all that is evil, including large asteroids. I am so glad my government takes care of me. I am glad to pay taxes; I mean we all have to start sacrificing, right?
Boy you're not really smart are you. The food that we have is non-perishable. IT WILL TAKES YEARS TO SPOIL
If thise crisis passes, we can reuse the food as is. Its a no lose situation. I don't care what you think. I have a family to take care of and I want to be safe. I don't wish this to happend and I hope to God that it doesn't. But it has happened in many place around the world for 1000s of years. History always repeats itself.
I never had stock supplies for Y2K. And if I did, they would have been long gone. The point is that it's only 6 months worth of supplies. With a family of 4 under normal circumstances would only take a bit over a year to consume.
If I'm wrong, no lose on my part. Just consume what I had stocked. If your wrong, may God be with you.
Of course you stocked up for Y2K. Oh and 10 years from now when 2019 is the new 2012 and we have a Jew president, you will tell me "I never had stock supplies in 2009." So how can I believe you didn't stock in Y2K? You know you did.
lol dramatic your a moron......stocking up on stuff like that is just a good idea........for example.....you lose your job....or your house.......you can't say this is a bad idea who cares what your reasons are.
No I didn't. Why? Because I work in IT as Director of a very large company. I knew at the time that Y2K was way over blown. Most of the important critical systems didn't use legacy applications. Alot of the more smaller problems existed in the finacial systems but have been correct 10 years before the Y2K scare was even brought up.
LOL, 10 years ago, you were no where near a "Director" of a "Very Large Company" for IT. You're just saying that to make yourself appear inteligent. But the truth is, you're not.
"LOL...you are such a dickhead. I'm 49 years old, I was a director for 3 large companies in the last 10 years. An yes, I'm very good at what I do and get paid propably pay more taxes in one than what you in make in 2"
On youtube, you can be anything. You could said you're a Unicorn or intelligent, am I to believe you? LOL. .
I laugh at people who stock up. When the dollar bottomed out in Argentina, people who stocked up loss everything to hungry thugs. Unless you live out in the middle of no where, your supplies and belongings will get robbed. Be-careful and don't appear healthy to your neighbor when it happens. Nor should you tell them.
Yeah but the problem is, no one has ever been in that situation and when shit hits the fan, the training and preparation will not be all peaches and cream.
I understand your point. What other choice do people have? Not everybody can run off in to the woods; most wouldn't survive there either. You have to make the best of each situation. It is better to be prepared.
I live in a pretty populated area. If things get ugly around here I will be moving down the road. Being self-contained means I could go just about anywhere.
Why not just have a remote BOL which is off the grid? What if your road out of town is blocked? I have a travel trailer but we haven't considered using it as a BOV. I agree with you to eat what you store and store what you eat. Thankfully I live in a very unpopulated area but I still think a fall back location is alway good.
I hope I'm lucky enough to see things falling apart fast enough to get out of town if I have too. I have to many commitments here (business, kids in school, etc.) to leave now.
No prob man. It's a water generator that takes in air in the room or outside and turns it into purified drinking water. It even uses reverse osmosis. It produces the most water on a humid day outside.
... and my wife told me to say that... LOL I find many men make that disclaimer in these type of videos.

TBaker1964 2 years ago

Also u cant store things w/yeast in them, can kill ya. keep yeast separate & bake later.

we may have to learn to live like the native americans..they grew their own food, lived off the land, hunted, fished, and their homes were mobile..they just folded up and followed the food source such as the roaming buffalo back then...too late for us on that one! also, hungry people are gonna find u & it wont be pretty..also u will be enemy of the gov't as u will be persecuted, so are u ready for a fight w/the military? point is communities working together are better than individual hording.
kokonutbaby1 2 years ago
another thing about storing things like flour...people dont like to know it & u cant see it right away but most store flour/cornmeal etc has bugs/eggs in it...not sure how it gets in there, but its there before u get it home and i had some vacuum stored and few yrs later i opened it & saw the bugs had hatched and were there..now that may not bother some of u but..aackk i cant eat it, lol

Economic4caster,
Great video.

ThePatriotHour 2 years ago 7
It will take more then the police to stop people, it will take the National Guard. I have been front running this storm and will be out of town long before the rest of the people realize whats happening. Also, the thirty gallons is just the start. I have cases of bottled water and the Sierra Nevada mountain range has lots of clean running streams.

@Economic4caster You are a fucking idiot aren you. If i seen your family with your role back i would kill your wife and kids and eat all your food while you watch me eating it then i would cut your throat. paranoid redneck!
DeliverySIX 9 months ago
It will take 48 hours for the national guard to set up check points in the average metro; maybe a week to enforce martial law (but it will be declared soon after the event).
Those 48 hours are the golden hours to evacuate. It will not work to try and haul a rig out at that time, if you live in the city. Too many people with the same idea. You'll wind up out of gas and sitting on the highway in your trailer.
After those 48 hours, you will be under martial law and stuck, without freedom.

Great storing advise though thanks

Wake up people. President and Mrs. Obama are the only ones in Washington working for the Am. people. Both legislative houses and many in his own cabinet (and some supreme court judges) are working backroom deals that are counter to the prosperity and success of the Am. people. Citizens support your president, with our support he can take back the money stolen from us by the "banker" and return it to the people.
Watch this video to see what he is up against:

That would be my worst nightmare!
mahdiya 2 years ago

RedFishEye 2 years ago
In the beginning of the video I said "Help you prepare for any disater that could happen here in the United States". I am not ruling out anything in this enviroment anymore. Even an economic collapse would put a huge strain on the Governments ability to provide the basic necessities.

Look what happened to Germany, Russia, Argentina, etc. When hyperinflation hits, the cost of everything goes up 10 fold. Farmers will not be able to sell their products, food is too expensive to produce and get to the store shelves, etc.

Besides, if a food shortage doesn't pan out, we can alway reuse what we've stored.
codematrix 2 years ago
"We know a lot of people think I'm crazy doing this" So those who did it for Y2K were not crazy as well? I wonder what happend to their spoled food from Y2K?
DramaticSoul77 2 years ago
Y2K was not a real crisis. People prepared for something that they thought was going to happen. This is a real crisis. It is happening right before your very eyes. Banks failing. Auto industry failing. Two trillion dollar budget deficit. Record foreclosures. Unemployment soaring. Need I say more?
Economic4caster 2 years ago
Y2K was made into a real crisis by people like Alex Jones; listen to his broadcast on 12/31/99. We had unemployment crisis in 1974, 1983 and 1993 that didn't result in storing food. Also, many auto industires had failed throughout the 20th century and GM will continue to operate but with 75% of gov controll. Banks have failed and the dollar has gotten weaker since 1971. So yes, you do need to say more.
DramaticSoul77 2 years ago
Oh and let us not forget the savings and loans crisis in 1980's where people brought houses at an interest rate as high as 18%. Do that today and Alex Jones will cry out this the end. It will take alot more before Americans have to resort to food stocking. Also, does it not concern you that there are people making money off of people like you on the Alex Jones show when it comes to food shortage? Like E-Food's direct? They're a business you know, not some Red-Cross.
DramaticSoul77 2 years ago
I have a degree in business economics. I have also studied international finance. There is nothing in the history of this nation that you can compare the likes of this crisis too. You have to understand the credit markets and what greases the wheels of our economy. The Government can not continue to spend hundreds of billions of dollars and have falling tax revenues for very long without a dislocation in the treasury bond market. The end result is simple math.
Economic4caster 2 years ago
You're not getting the point. We have been through worse situations in America in the past 40 years. Don't go on about having a degree in economics because the subject is, will storing food be necessary? I say no because you guys are buying into the fear mongers like Alex Jones.
Let me repeat again, We have been through worse in America to not have to stock food. So why now? Unemployment was higher in 74 & 81, rates were higher in the 80's & the dollar was always falling.

Excuse me for a moment. I believe dramaticsoul has said it is safe to insert my tube again. And our government will protect us from all that is evil, including large asteroids. I am so glad my government takes care of me. I am glad to pay taxes; I mean we all have to start sacrificing, right?

If thise crisis passes, we can reuse the food as is. Its a no lose situation. I don't care what you think. I have a family to take care of and I want to be safe. I don't wish this to happend and I hope to God that it doesn't. But it has happened in many place around the world for 1000s of years. History always repeats itself.
Y2K was not even close to what is going on now.
codematrix 2 years ago 3
Ok, then go eat the supplies you stocked up for Y2K.
DramaticSoul77 2 years ago
I never had stock supplies for Y2K. And if I did, they would have been long gone. The point is that it's only 6 months worth of supplies. With a family of 4 under normal circumstances would only take a bit over a year to consume.
If I'm wrong, no lose on my part. Just consume what I had stocked. If your wrong, may God be with you.
codematrix 2 years ago
Of course you stocked up for Y2K. Oh and 10 years from now when 2019 is the new 2012 and we have a Jew president, you will tell me "I never had stock supplies in 2009." So how can I believe you didn't stock in Y2K? You know you did.
