  • As a beginner, @ 48 yrs of age, I found this most helpful for both strumming and changing of chords. Keep up the good work.

  • The song is called "If You could only See" by Tonic^^

And he uses the wrong chords. They are only in teh verse Am, C, G5, G5/F. This "Chucking Riff" he wanna shus us is Am, C, G5, F.

Hear the original song and you will hear it (you will even see it in their live versions or by the Boyce Avenue Cover)

  • thats cool

  • Taylor Guitars sound soooooo Gooood.

  • YES! love the sound

  • go on you golden surfer dude, nice to see tim in front of the camera sometimes, hes quite good aint eee??

  • 5 stars. Thanks for the lesson. I have lots of problems with timing, trying to get that down, up, down, down, up stuff. I can hear it better than I can say it or think it. Strange! I am bumbling my way through the theory myself. Reading stuff here and there from the internet. Very slow progress. Trying to teach myself guitar and keyboard.

  • good luck with it, i was foramly taught piano as a child and its helped me with guitar and theory, i still remember learning guitar and the frustration and confusion but it is massively rewarding when you get there, where ever "there" is. good luck, take your time and if you enjoy the journey, youll get to the destination

  • the video you saw was Boyce Avenue's cover of "If You COuld Only See" by Toxic was it not?

  • You look like Kevin Bacon. Thanks for the free lesson man!

  • Cool Surfer Dude! Five Stars

  • Nice guitar man. I love Taylors. At my local music shop I've played the Martins and the high end Gibsons but I still prefer the Taylors sound. I'm getting one this Christmas hopefully

  • its the song by Tonic it was covered by Boyce Avenue.......he was so good

  • Awesome, keep on rocking, I say keep the lesson rolling I just started learning how to play the acoustic guitar not to long ago. And I think it'll be useful for me.

  • ur still alright dude..keep the torch up lit...rock and roll man...

  • thanks tim , keep on rocking :)

  • Tim is muting the A string when he plays his G5 making it a, um, G5.

  • Nice lesson guys!.

  • I hate to spoil the fun, but Tim doesn't play economically with his right hand :) Too much of elbow work. Try using more wrist motion ;)

  • Didint notice until you said it. lol! :)

  • G5 is the root G and the 5th D.

The second fret of the A string is a B, which is the third of G, and gives a G major chord (GBD).

If you just lift your finger off and let the A string sound, you are playing GADGDG which is Gsus2.

If you want to play a G5, you have to mute the A string (by letting your index finger lightly rest on it). For the G5/F, mute it the same way.

  • thanks for teachin me G5 and G5/F but man.. your rele wailing on that thing man! overall thanks tho

  • I like the progression. Thanks man!!

  • hey Tim....

    Cheers....!!!1

  • nice
