@1979aerocaprice omg you're dumb.... Seriously, do you believe your own shit or are you just an amateur troll. Theres more than one run of the firearm.
Jennings dad made Phoenix. The Phoenix HP-22 is about the same cost (new) as a Jennings but its along the lines of a Beretta in quality and look. Great gun. check it out
@1979aerocaprice considering i've shot all three and you obviously haven't i think my word hold's a little more weight. But thanks for trying to burst my bubble. Next time try actually shooting or researching before putting your foot in your mouth.
@spartan177saber actually i have shot all three and considering a beretta is a steel gun and phoenix/jennings guns are made of zamak, i think i know which is a better product. you are stupid as hell if you think a 139 dollar pheonix is nicer than any model of beretta, 21a or minx or bobcat etc. ive actually owned 2 jennings j22s, a phoenix hp25 and a beretta 21a. the beretta is on a whole other level. you have no idea what you're talking about. your phoenix aint a beretta bub.
@1979aerocaprice Last time i checked mine was nickel plated steel lol and I really have shot a Beretta .22, Jennings 22 and a Phoenix 22 not just saying it like you. My friend owns the Beretta and he is a way better shot and i can outshoot him with my Phoenix vs his Beretta. My hp22 has never ftf and has only fte once where his beretta round for round is twice as bad. And yeah, i agree, my Phoenix isn't a Baretta.... it's better and costs alot less money. Talk out your ass much?
@spartan177saber i dont care if you believe me or not. all three guns we are talking about cost less than 200 dollars a piece so i dont think its so unbelievable that ive owned them. and you are still wrong. your phoenix IS NOT made of steel, look it up. they are made of zamak. go and check out bryco jennings jimenez arms dot com. it is a firearms forum devoted to saturday night special pistols. i am a member there and trust me i know these guns. i highly suggest you look it up
@1979aerocaprice Mine is nickel plated steel bro. No buts about it. I do however have a extended barrel that is steel wrapped in the zamak crap but the original gun and barrel are steel whether the finish is blued steel or nickel plated. Maybe just the newer models are zamak?
yeah it has alot of safeties but i got rid of all but the firing pin safety. Still never had an issue with it...ever, minus one stovepipe; and no one has to my knowledge except a lemon or two that was fixed
@spartan177saber "The HP22A and HP25A are blowback operated pistols and come with 3 inch barrels. Optional 5 inch barrels are available. The FRAME IS ALLOY WITH A STEEL BARREL AND ALLOY SLIDE. They are single-action pistols and feed from a single-stack 10 round magazine. They have a unique slide mounted firing pin block in addition to a regular manual safety." the only steel part is the barrel and even it is just pressed into a zamak casting. LOOK IT UP
@1979aerocaprice I dont have to I have both and they are completely different. I have the original gun (nickel plated steel) and barrel (also nps) and the range kit (steel wrapped in zamak). It's pretty easy to tell apart.... just saying. What im guessing is maybe they quit using nickel plated steel and blued steel because the new black one is "matte black" now not blued steel (very noticeable difference) to cut costs but i have no idea. I do know mine is nickel plated though
@spartan177saber its obvious that you are trapped in your own little world of ignorance. do you think they made your gun special or what? i bet they stopped their entire production and bought milling machines to machine you one out of steel instead of just casting it from zamak like the million others. you know its possible to nickel plate alloys too genius. being nickel plated dont mean shit. im tired of arguing with you. i guess ignorance really is bliss.
@1979aerocaprice It funny because I'm right and you think i'm ignorant. Also, no I don't think my gun is special. And again i have a nickel plated zamak barrel and a nickel plated steel gun, they are quite different densities, looks, and textures. I guess if you want to make believe go right ahead but i have both a nickel plated steel and a nickel plated zamak right in front of me and another nickel plated steel gun to go off of. i guess ignorance really is.
@spartan177saber and in no way am i trying to be a gunsnob type, i actually enjoy these guns for what they are. that is why i am a member of that forum. honestly i think that the jennings/bryco j22 is a better gun than the phoenix as well. the phoenix has too many safeties on it. its ridiculous. i have a chrome jennings j22 with wood grips that is a calwestco model and i just recently sold my phoenix hp25 which is the same gun as the hp22. and i also have a blued beretta 21a .22
@1979aerocaprice The reason the phoenix has so many safeties is because that's why the original gun maker "jennings" went out of business. Some dumb 12 year old unloaded(it being loaded) the j22 towards himself, the gun went off, and he got crippled. the parents sued them and won which put them out of business.
@Tapps47 i know about the safeties, thats not that big of a deal. i just dont understand how this guy thinks that phoenix guns are made of steel. they are NOT, they are made of zamak which i am sure you know.
@7988E that's because its barrel is so short.you also need to remember to oil it. its not a bad gun as long as you maintenance. it can be accurate with a decent shooter and the right ammo.
@7988E the biggest thing is to use different types of ammo and see what the gun likes. every gun even the same model of gun can have different types of ammo it shoots more accuracy with. and i don't worry about power, statistics show that more people are killed by small cal rounds than anything else.
@7988E Yeah ...I had a Jennings and it was loud also. OK little gun. I did have issues with it firing 2-3 round bursts sometimes for some reason. It fired so fast that it would fire 3 and you couldn't tell if it was 2 or 3. Got it for $80 with 3 mags.
@TooLittleRC its the sear on the gun. that condition is dangerous as it can fire right after you pull the slide back and let go. be very careful as to where the gun is pointed when loading OR unloading. I would suggest you take it to a gunsmith and have them fix the sear. would be a good idea for everyone's safety yours and bystanders.
@Tapps47 Absolutely this is good advice. I had the same problem w/ this pistol, my first handgun purchased in college. I chalked this condition (double firing, firing upon release of the slide) up to poor quality control from the manufacturer. Gave the pistol to a friend and have always wished I had just destroyed it instead (or following your suggestion taken it to a gunsmith for repair).
@renter6 Thanks. A friend awhile back had a rifle he bought at a pawnshop. it was a 30-06. every time he would open and close the bolt it would go off. he didn;t find this out until he had taken it home and (for some reason) put a live round in it. on closing the bolt it went off in his apartment building. he was charged with discharging a firearm in a residential area. But it could of been FAR worse.
i recently acquired a Jennings J22 for free in a buy. the gun is lock in the cocked position. i cant field strip it, and the trigger wont pull to dry fire it. safety is off. any ideas on how to fix it? thank you for any help.
@kibaroo My suggestion if you believe there to be a shell i the gun and after everything else failed is to take it to a qualified gun smith and have them unload it/uncock it. I suggest this as this is how people get accidentally get shot.
@kibaroo Same Problem There Wuss An Empty Shell Case In My Chamber! Take A Pin And Put In The Take Down Button Make Sure The Gun Is Empty And pointing Down Nose Down While Doing This! Lift The Pin Up Towards The Top Take The Cock Back Thingy Off Take The Empty Shell Case And Throw It Away Put It Back Together And Keep Cocking The Gun Back Hey Im Going To MAke A Vid Matter Fact
@The2012waiting I like a revolver in .22. but for the bigger calibers i prefer autos. The reason is that a .22 is limited in power. i own a Smith & Wesson 617 featherweight in .22. great gun 10 shot cylinder, speed loader are a hassle. but unlike a auto .22. if it hits a bad shell it goes to the next round and still fires, where the auto is jammed until you clear it. For self defense could get you killed.
I need to do a video sometime of the Smith & Wesson.
Nice video, Thanks.
