i was really annoyed when this happened two reasons

1. it was 8 days after my birthday

2. i was set to go to Weston Super Mare for a day at the pier on the 29th July

however i am soooo happy that the pier is back now and i look forward to going to the pier with my college mates (End of year trip) on 14th June 2011. I Can't wait as the last time i went on the pier and weston itself was way back in 2006.

the new peir is going to be awesome!!! its nearly open and its got some brilliant rides!!!! including the worlds first robotic coaster(coaster style seats controlled my robotic arms) open to the public!!! I cant wait for it to be open!!! :D

all that time the people of brighton put into this grand masterpiece "The Grand Pier" and now it's gone... I woke up on the couch from a long night partying and what was on BBC 1? This fire... I didn't care about the electricity bill, I cared for everyone down there when it broke out and who built the pier all those years back, they were the days... I loved that place, I went there at least three times a year and I live in Derbyshire, I was proud at how far I had travelled... God rest this pier.

One point: Has anyone else noticed just how many of these pier fire film-makers are heard laughing about the situation until they realise that they will be heard in the background. Then they suddenly get real and serious about it. And rightly so!!

Shame this happened, I feel sad for the people who worked there, as they have all lost their jobs. But I agree that IF this pier is going to be rebuilt again, there is no way this is gonna happen anytime soon. 1) It's just been re-opened after refurbishment. 2) The pretty utopic town council will have their own suggestions what it could look like and that is never helpful (Remember the Tropicana? Still no decision after 7 yrs...)
