  • People think I'm weird because I'm 16/17 and I love movies like this. If they took the time to watch a masterpeice like this or any other Lean film, they would realise why.

  • Possibly my favourite film ever. A master class in acting from Robert Newton and Celia Johnson and direction from the master!

  • wish the whole thing was on YouTube. There's very little Noel Coward on it.

  • Celia Johnson was a remarkable actress, simply amazing in Brief Encounter - a Lean/Coward classic.

They really don't make films like they used to.

  • Superb.... All time classic, greatly overlooked,a wonderful time capsule of a more gentler kinder England...... They dont make em like this anymore!!!

  • A wonderful film, my all time favourite, superb,

  • i know this film by heart i absolutely love it!!

  • any chance seeing whole movie please? PAUL

  • It is available on DVD

  • this film has the direction of a genius - evokes memories of a gentle England - one my grandfather used to talk of. An all time favourite - lost count on how many times I have watched

  • a beautiful film . that greatly captures the era from the 1920s leading up to the start & finish of world war two. virtually all of us in middle age can see the charachters in the film that reminds us of our older relatives . the film portrays excellently the sadness & happy times of a normal family douring these amazing years . thanks to david lean for a wonderfull film

  • One of my favourite films of all time:)

  • "It's not a mack, it's a Burberry...!" Some things never change, eh...?

It would be great to see the return of Queenie scenes.

  • Seen this movie on TV and loved it.

Missed it when it was released on DVD before, but I'll definately buy it when the two disc set comes out in the UK on 26-1-2009.

  • Thank you so much! David Lean happens to be one of my favorite and respectable director. I would never forget the first time when I saw the vastness of golden desert in Lawrence of Arbia and thus it led me to the love of classic films. Thank you again!
