  • what's with all of the trolls on this video? This is the same dance you see all over Youtube called latin hustle, and wether or not it's a variant doesn't matter, just enjoy the dance and dancefusion doesn't even do a latin hustle video and should just sit his stiff self down somewhere and stop hating. lol joking but still seriously, Kevin is great and has taught various styles of dance over the years, and the best you can come up with is "this is not latin Hustle"...get out of here.

  • @IX19UT80 Sorry to be the third person commenting but I have to agree with jonibaloney2003 and Dancefusion... there definately was a variant of Hustle that we called "Latin" Hustle in the mid to late 70's. It does look different than what we called "Rope" or "Street" Hustle and like Chicago Steppin' and West Coast Swing it contained a distinct tap step 123 123 (feelin like WCS). Mary Adams from You Can Dance (Toronto) taught me the "coaster step" variant. It does feel different than 3 count.

  • @tirrafriday Sorry Tina... didn't know I was in your profile

  • very nice.........

  • There is no such thing as a "latin" hustle. You may want to add latin to it but it is still the hustle a variation of the swing. The dance was first started in the disco era of the 70's and early 80's. Initially the steps where simple and easy to learn (similiar to the basic swing steps) and it made it easy for a non-dancer to do especially to the disco beat. Later syncopation and other more intricate steps and movements were added. Albeit, this is good dancing, it is still just the hustle.

  • @IX19UT8O not true, plenty of historical documentation to disprove your statement. Hustle did evolve from jazz based partner dances of the swing family, primarily Eastern swing, Smooth Lindy/aka early WCS, and Foxtrot. However, there are clear differences in movement characterizations and foundation elements.

  • @IX19UT8O There WAS such a thing as "Latin Hustle" it was a name copyrighted by the Arthur Murray Franchise chain in the mid 70s for their "Touch Dancing" Syllabus. It is/was related more closely to both the East and west Coast styles of swing.

  • You can grab the audio-mp3 of this vid at grabaudionow doht cohm.

  • Very nice. Slick.

  • What's the name of this soong that's playing?.......

  • @DHOODvsop ------>the song playing is "Bravebird" By.. Amel Larrieux

  • nice moves, great dancers

  • This in NOT Latin Hustle. This form is historically known as Street, Syncopated, or 3 Count Hustle. I'm a trained Latin Hustle dancer & dance historian. Latin Hustle is a 6 count based dance. The basic is tap step in place on 12, then back coaster step 3 &4, followed by two forward walks towards your partner on 56. There is ample period documentation in both video & print to prove my statements. Please appropriately label your video & do learn the Latin Hustle it is excellent albeit different.

  • @Dancefusion Three posts on someone's profile isn't called for and reads like a rant. I'm a dance teacher and former club kid with 12 years of DJing from `77 to `89. I've studied dance history at a post secondary level and taught social dance for 17 years. I bring real world insights to music and dance as well as the perspective of musicology. Therefore, I look at popular culture with an anthropological/sociological approach.

Your points are correct but... 3 postings? Smarten up.

  • @Dancefusion I know it as swing hustle. Yes 3 count.. Somewhere, I think I have syllabus' of the different ones. But, it's been years since I looked at them.

  • This is NOT LATIN HUSTLE this is historically known as 3count, syncopated, or street Hustle. It has never been Latin hustle. Latin Hustle is responsible for many of the evolutions in West Coast Swing and was a six count basic. The footwork is 1tap 2step in place, then a back coaster step on 3&4, followed by two forward walks on 5 6. This is all highly documented in period video and instructional manuals. Please label your videos appropriately & do learn Latin Hustle is excellent but different.

  • Do that Kevin!

  • awesome

  • Whats more amazing is he is good enough to do this with multiple dancers.

  • she is very good...which means he is very good and leading well

  • smooth. I want to an an element of this to my Chicago Steppin. But I don't know anyone who teaches it.

  • I haven't seen the latin hustle since moving from ny several years ago. I would to find someone in Charlotte NC who would love to learn this dance. I am an old school husltler and no one here hustle's

  • Go Kevin (*;*(

  • BRAVO! you brought tears to my eyes - as well as some amazing memories

  • Are you kidding me.........that was awesome

  • That is the hustle - I don't understand a lot of what it passed off as the hustle but the way this couple is doing it is what I learned in the 70's at Cheyney State. Beautiful

  • beautiful performance!!! Congratulations!!!
