I have BED myself and have gained 50 pounds in the last 2 years because of this.I've been diagnosed with several binge related EDs over the last 8 years(anorexia b/p subtype, bulimia) so if you have any healthy tips that stop you from binging they would be useful as I can't seem to stop at all.
That said I've found over the last week increasing the fat/protien in my diet has helped but I don't know if that will last.

@TheIronSights People say that but I've tried to gain weight over & over, but always end up losing it. I am underweight & it's much harder to start doing something you're not used to. If you're not used to thinking of what you're going to eat, shop for it, prepare & eat it, it's really hard to start. Losing weight just means stop doing something. All you really need to do is make a shopping list & only buy/eat what is on the list. Then find a hobby that takes up a lot of your eating time.
@LegoDaleks I have binge eating disorder so just stopping eating doesnt work for me. Plus if I bust my ass for 2 weeks dieting and working out, if I slip up and eat too much on the weekend, all my weight is gained back. its genetics too
@ByeByeBelly I know it is a metabolism thing as well. Have you tried the shopping list idea? It's not very effective if you live with other people though because they might shop for unhealthy food & then it'll be in the house, which would make it a lot harder to resist.
I went through what you went through. Over 2 years I gained 42lbs thanks to binge eating disorder, after recovering from mia (hate using that name). And unfortunately for me it's a lot harder for me to lose weight than it is to gain weight. And for everyone saying 'oh just eat less' or 'just exercise more'. Just shut up. You've no idea what it's like having a binge eating disorder and depression. It's not that easy.
@TheOneAndOnlyMe92 I've been there. The binge eating disorder, depression, anxiety, etc and the only thing that you can do to is to Exercise and Eat Less if you want to lose weight. Exercise helps with coping with stress, depression, and anxiety. Eating Healthy also helps with depression and stress, and eating less helps with losing weight.
I completely understand what you're feeling and going through right now I've been there myself. Don't do this to please anyone! Do it because you want to live a healthier, longer, happy life! Do it for you! Nothing and no one else matters. Don't starve or deprive your self of things or foods that you would normally enjoy, have them in moderation instead, because if you do and you do lose the weight, you will put back on every single ounce and then some when you start having them again! Actually, you look great fat as well as when you were thin. However what you need to do is decide if, deep down, you really like being fat. If you do, no amount of dieting will succeed. If that is the case, just accept the extra pounds and don't try to diet. Just keep up the exercise, try to eat reasonably healthy things most of the time and forget about calories. Worked for me.

@42OBoNg42O being thin has nothing to do, just saying. My physical education teacher in high school was this size the girl is in the video, and she was healthier and more energetic than us kids. She could do backflips on trampolines and played on a womens hocky team in her spare time. Fitness, bodyshape and health are completely different things, although sometimes they cross over. Im a small size but curvy/hourglass, and im unhealthy because i dont exercise and i eat crappy food.

that I actually like having a fat belly. The weight does pull on my lower back so I wear a girdle to support my stomach.

I dont understand how people let themselves get fat. I was a chunky kid. Then when being heavy became lame i worked it off. Every once in a while over the years i start notecing some weight gain on my body so then i work it off. I dont think there is any good reason to let yourself become fat. Definitely overweight. I'm not sure about "obese", but I think there's a good possibility. This is so sad, though. I'm 107 lbs and I can't imagine looking like that, going through the process of gaining all that weight, etc. I hope you lose weight. Enough to be healthy, or not. I'm in the exact same situation! I battled depression and stress in high school, and over three years, I gained ca 70 lbs.! And people keep saying "you're not obese", "you're not fat" etc, and I think that says more about the general state of the western world than anything - I'm 5'7" and 205 lbs., and that IS obese. Even if I, compared to the crazy-huge ppl around, don't look it, compared to a HEALTHY body, I'm obese! Good luck with your weight loss - it's tough, and hard work, but doable!

@FedUpWFat Don't overestimate what's healthy...I am 5'9", about 150 pounds, and on the upper end of healthy (closer to overweight than underweight). I'm usually a size 9 (juniors)--partially because of my height and bone structure, partially because of my weight. People would look at me and say I'm skinny, but medically, I'm really not. Do I need to lose weight? No, but would I want to gain it? No.
@Starworks07 people can be overweight and have no problems what so ever! i am about 50 lbs overweight but have NO health problems. i am as healthy as a small person. i am losing weight STRICTLY for looks. so cool that you don't have stretch marks.....i skin lost its elasticity after numerous yo-yo diet. the most i've lost was about 80+ -90lb. ...anyhow i forgot cuz i didn't even record that....i just can't believe myself....stress was my problem...but i wasn't really binging either...

Your not obese at all, yes you have a few extra pounds but a lot of guys think that's sexy. Don't lose the weight for other people-I'm not telling you to not lose weight-do it for yourself. I went swimming with my brother and his gf and all they did was comment on how fat I was. So I got a little mad at myself and ended up eating 2 bags of cheese puffs when I got home last night and now I feel like absolute shit. :(
You know, you were still beautiful with the weight. You have a lovely face and your body seems warm and womanly rather than gross. Sure, you need to be healthy, but a full figure isn't a bad thing. Just don't overdo the weight loss. I wouldn't want you to be skin and bones - that's just as unhealthy as being obese.
I think youll find that if you look at ur BMI or ask a docter your definitely not obese, after that build up I was expecting you to be huge not normal
@ByeByeBelly my ex boyfriend was 140 pds and his doctor said he was obese ure bmi isnt worth nothing ...i understand i gained 40 pds from 180 to 220 and i felt horrible at 220 i thought i was humongo and decided i wanted to go back down to 180 without surgery im at 200 now and striving for another 20 if u dont feel good about ure body change it but know ure still beautiful. stay away from junk food and sodas procesed drinks juices drink tons of water eat better portions

I know how it feels not feeling like yourself. I'm absolutely nog overweight, but I'm going to start eating healthier and do more exercise and try to get more sleep and so on. I was recently on pednisone, and gained 22 pounds in 45 days, and was always a fit woman. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, and Hashimotos thyroiditis, and am on Chemotherapy pills, and hormone replacement therapy, etc. I live in pain. I had lower back surgery 2006, and will be getting another. I have just had cervical spine surgery in Feb this year. Titanium plate screwed onto 3 levels, and discs put in place. I cannot move hardly. I want my weight off. I also have a severley autistic son. HARD!
The thing i used to hate before toning up was my thighs rubbing together when i walked! The feeling was horrible, so glad i work out and run every day.
Food is so awesome yet so dangerous dependent upon the quantity we consume. Being fit is great, but the fear of gaining fat is too awful to think of, so food is a constant battle.
Overall i believe sacrificing lollies and soft drink is extremely beneficial and will boost your confidence in public.

What Kristy Alley said no more chemical foods they destroy your motabilism...eat an all natural diet and don't use idonized salt use mineral sea salt...and exercise 30 mintues a day on an eliptical trainer...don't say never to some foods instead make them healthy alternatives and have a 1 day a week treat day...Friday I eat what I want...

Definitely overweight. I'm not sure about "obese", but I think there's a good possibility. This is so sad, though. I'm 107 lbs and I can't imagine looking like that, going through the process of gaining all that weight, etc. I hope you lose weight. Enough to be healthy, or not. Whatever makes you feel like you look beautiful. I don't think girls can really be all that happy if they don't think they look beautiful.

I'm in the exact same situation! I battled depression and stress in high school, and over three years, I gained ca 70 lbs.! And people keep saying "you're not obese", "you're not fat" etc, and I think that says more about the general state of the western world than anything - I'm 5'7" and 205 lbs., and that IS obese. Even if I, compared to the crazy-huge ppl around, don't look it, compared to a HEALTHY body, I'm obese! Good luck with your weight loss - it's tough, and hard work, but doable!

@FedUpWFat Don't overestimate what's healthy...I am 5'9", about 150 pounds, and on the upper end of healthy (closer to overweight than underweight). I'm usually a size 9 (juniors)--partially because of my height and bone structure, partially because of my weight. People would look at me and say I'm skinny, but medically, I'm really not. Do I need to lose weight? No, but would I want to gain it? No.

Im larger then most girls. but I am involved in sports and i dance and yet.. i still have a belly. I don't see it as a bad thing. I'm healthy. Yeah.. I've been a personal trainer for about 12 years now so I'll shed some light on the topic. People really seem to over-complicate things!
HOW TO LOSE FAT
1) Avoid high GI foods (they trigger fat storage)
2) Eat frequent, nutrient dense meals (every 3 hours) - include a protein source with each meal
3) Follow the nutrition plan from the "Fat Loss Customized" program (I can't provide a meal plan here)

You know, you were still beautiful with the weight. You have a lovely face and your body seems warm and womanly rather than gross. Sure, you need to be healthy, but a full figure isn't a bad thing. Just don't overdo the weight loss. I wouldn't want you to be skin and bones - that's just as unhealthy as being obese.

@ByeByeBelly my ex boyfriend was 140 pds and his doctor said he was obese ure bmi isnt worth nothing ...i understand i gained 40 pds from 180 to 220 and i felt horrible at 220 i thought i was humongo and decided i wanted to go back down to 180 without surgery im at 200 now and striving for another 20 if u dont feel good about ure body change it but know ure still beautiful. stay away from junk food and sodas procesed drinks juices drink tons of water eat better portions

I know how it feels not feeling like yourself. I'm absolutely nog overweight, but I'm going to start eating healthier and do more exercise and try to get more sleep and so on. I was recently on pednisone, and gained 22 pounds in 45 days, and was always a fit woman. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, and Hashimotos thyroiditis, and am on Chemotherapy pills, and hormone replacement therapy, etc. I live in pain. I had lower back surgery 2006, and will be getting another. I have just had cervical spine surgery in Feb this year. Titanium plate screwed onto 3 levels, and discs put in place. I cannot move hardly. I want my weight off. I also have a severley autistic son. HARD!

The thing i used to hate before toning up was my thighs rubbing together when i walked! The feeling was horrible, so glad i work out and run every day.
Food is so awesome yet so dangerous dependent upon the quantity we consume. Being fit is great, but the fear of gaining fat is too awful to think of, so food is a constant battle.
Overall i believe sacrificing lollies and soft drink is extremely beneficial and will boost your confidence in public.
