  • I was 10 years old and lived 3 hours north of St. Louis (piper54alpha) so am familiar with KSHE. I remember though hearing it on AM radio (that was all my parents station wagon had in it) on KOKX Radio in Keokuk, Iowa. I vividly remember hearing this song because we were going to B & J's motorcycle shop and this song was on the radio as we were going down highway 61 bypass. To this day I only remember the one line. A peice of paper says it's all right to die. googled that line and found this.

  • I was just 6 in Tyler, Texas, when this song came out. My parents were close friends with one of the producers, Randy Fouts, and he gave us a copy. My sister and I spent many afternoons singing and dancing to this music.

My child said something earlier today about a piece of paper, and I just started singing this song. As soon as I did, I ran to my computer to try to find it. I am so excited to hear it after all these years. I emailed Mom to see if she still has the album...thanks!

  • does anyone know where i can get the rest of the album and their other one too,

    love them,

  • @purplecontractor I have an original i was 12 when i first heard this

  • Unbelievable - someone put this album online. I taped this album off a friend in the '70's & wore it out. Been unable to find it since. Play the album a few times & you will get hooked.

  • This song was the real beginnings of my social awareness, my first year of college at Mizzou..It became social wariness once I started paying attention to the hypocrisy in this country. I loved the song, cherish the memories, and after searching for years, I found it HERE! Thanks!

  • ABCX-751 A great album all the way through. I was looking for any of it on here a few days ago, and found nothing. Now, quite by accident it pops up... One of only two songs on the album that doesn't have D. Rhone's name attached to it; the other, "Love Me If You Dare," has Robin Hood Brian's (one of the album's producers), of Brians Studios...? Song writing is credited to R. Sellers/ T. Russell, but have never been able to find any more info about that

  • I heard this in 1972 and I felt in love with. And I have been searching it since then!! All around the internet.. From Jack Gladstone, an American Indian I thought it was a group jejeje!! Just great. Thanks to reb!!

  • awesome pro life anti hypocrisy song.It gave me chills when I was 12

  • Could some one send me the chords to the song?

  • GREAT SONG!!! F...CK iTUNES!

  • Thank you. We loved this song and had the album years and years ago. The early 80s!! Brings back lots of memories.

  • You can't imagine how long I've looked for this song. Thank you!!!

  • Very cool, I been looking for this song but I couldn't remember who did it. I was guessing Crosby, Stills, & Nash, (Just from the memory of the vocal sound..)

    Thanks for posting it!

  • Wow, I had begun to think that I had imagined this song - have been looking for it for a long time.

  • @josafiend5014 I was starting to think I'd imagined it too! I was only 10 or so when it came out, and until today, I haven't heard it since those long ago days in Connecticut. The line about abortion likely kept it out of any mainstream radio airplay. I didn't even remember that was in there...

  • @Rox1SMF I didn't recall the abortion line either - am wondering if it was edited out for some markets?

  • @Rox1SMF I heard it for the first time in 1972 as an 18 yr. old college freshman. All the lyrics were played then, on KSHE FM radio, St. Louis--I don't imagine it got played much further South! I looked for this song for YEARS! I'm glad I found it here.

  • doubt this song would get any airplay today with some of it's pro-life sentiment.

  • I remember this song got alot of airplay in Boston around '73, though it release the previous year. It only mid-charted nationally.

  • Thank you!!!!!

I cannot understand why it is not on iTunes

    Steve

  • Impossible to thank you enough for posting this song. I was 18, living in StL and it brings back so many memories, both happy and sad. Thanks!

  • I first heard this song in Texas in the early 70's. Heard the band play it live on a sunday night radio talk show at KFJC called Sidetrack with L Shannon. It sounded great. Thank you for posting this memory!

  • First heard them in my 1972 SuperBeetle, on main street, OKC, summer, 1972 and the thing that really knocked me out was the acapella section in the middle.

I have been looking for this item for several years so thanks to anybody who had a part in posting this.

  • A great song and thanks for sharing. You can find it on CD if you can locate "Dick Bartley presents Collector's Essentials: The 70's" - Varese Vintage - VSD 5706. I have a copy of this and I have seen in on eBay and Amazon.

I had this on a 45, ABC Dunhill, and I wore the grooves out.

  • Thanks for posting. Remember back when music actually said something???

  • I could not find this on iTunes. Thank you for posting it here. This is one song that truely makes you stop and think!
