@Howyaduing maybe so, but Four is definitely my Doctor. Baker had the balance between The Doctor's ancient, alien nature and his childlike sense of wonder and compassion down to a science. There's a youtube video called 'Temptation of the Key to Time' that captures all of this perfectly.
This is by far the best video quality of any Doctor Who episode I've seen on YouTube. However you pulled this off - thank you! This is one of my favorite DW stories.
If parents dont want their kids watching Family Guy then just dont put it on when theyre in the room. You cant expect the shows entire audience to stay up later for the sake of some families who cant be bothered changing the channel. what children watch is entirely up to their parents. Mary Whitehouse was an idiot because she thought it was up to her. And that he rules should apply to everyone, not just children.
I would not want it later on TV, since I might be in bed.
I watched all sorts of stuff.....r rated movies, animes, played violent video games and played with toy guns that actually LOOKED like guns, and I came out ok.
And then we get to the RTD era, where a man in a leather jacket and a blonde lass wearing a shiny Union Jack run around the place without giving a shit for historical consequence
@JimmyColls Well, She's old news now isn't she? I never liked her anyway, but Amy's not much better anyway. Red Hair, Leather Jacket, Fish Net Stockings... Him saying that was meant to be a joke either way, Because he walked out in something COMPLETELY conspicuous.
@speedformercy I was only poking fun at the inconsistencies in Who continuity. Doctor Who is my favorite series, but Christ has it contradicted itself over the years. You can't really blame it though, with so many writers taking the reins over its long run there were bound to be holes cropping up here and there. Most fans I know ignore these moments as being products of a timeline that's constantly in flux, but they're as big a part of the Who charm as the low budget FX.
@JimmyColls It worked in context. The Doctor made Rose change into a real dress the first time they went to the past, but their trip to WWII was an emergency (Mauve alert), so no time to change. The second time they went to Victoria's time, they were actually aiming for 1979 and ran into the Queen before they had time to realize the mistake. Rose did wear period clothes when they visited the 50's in Series 2, as did Martha (after joining "full time") and Donna on other trips back.
@TheBermudaMan I was only kidding. I love all iterations of Who, which is why I'm comfortable with poking fun at their inconsistencies. The only thing that genuinely annoyed me about RTD's run was that he made The Doctor willfully guilty of attempting double genocide at the end of the Time War. The whole point of 'Genesis' was that even though The Doctor knows that Dalek extinction would be for the greater good, the very notion of genocide goes against the core of who he is.
For me, this is the best Doctor Who story. Interesting characters with depth, rich, gorgeous costumes and sets, humour, mystery, sinister Orientals, Victorian London, theatre, oh and the giant rat!
Love the fight scene and implied racism lol.
