  • whoever is in that first vehicle has to be one of the biggest fucking morons i have ever seen

  • LMFAO

  • What the fuck?! This looks like a Zombie truck rally...

  • That was in Portland, of December 2004. I remember my dad picking me up from my mom's in Salem and driving to Astoria that night. Fortunately for me, my dad had a 4X4 F350 with studded tires. I'd say we fared far better than the gentleman in the SUV did. (Jackass! You turn the wheel in the direction of the skid! You do not cut the wheel inside!)

  • @GeneralHankins When this happend, I lived at the corner of 20th and Burnside, at the bottem of this hill.

I had a front row seat to all of this from my liveingroom window.

  • im from oregon and this place sux...i hate it its always raining

  • @jkd1995nef Unless it is snowing.

  • This was NOT Portland. This is in Seattle. NIce try Bozo.

  • @genenco1

Portland. The intersection of 20th and SW Salmon. The guy filming was in the apartment building in the SW corner. At one point you can see the roof top tennis courts at PGE Park in the NE side of the intersection.

Watch this You tube video: The Portland Oregon Stay Home Snow Crash

Note that it is Portland local news. Note the exact same video being played at 1:22.

    Portland. Not Seattle.

  • @genenco1 Nope, it's Portland, I lives at the bottem of that hill when it happened.

Saw the whole thing as it was happening

  • Portland auto pinball theater

  • ya those were all tourists and locals i live in oregon and we knw wen to drive and wen not to drive in the snow and knw how to but some of those people that were locals should have known better...... i call them idiots!

  • this is what happens when you get a bunch of transplants from LA and PHX and TX who have never seen snow irl. Fucking perfect. I hope I can avoid them when I make my move. But then again- I'm from cold country and a tourist town so I've been avoiding tourists my whole life. Idiots.

  • HAHA!

  • hahahahaha portland drivers....can always tell when they are here in central oregon, they drive reeaally still cant manage to keep it on the road!!! i belive its because of the lack of snow they get...

  • @crushedcranium yup... & overconfidence. they have no experience on snow & but think theyre great. I on the other hand, know i am a shiitty driver & dont drive in the snow

  • Oregonians do not know how to drive in the snow!! out here in Missouri people cant drive in the rain lol

  • @hjohnson4 lol Oregonians do know how to drive in the snow....but in the bigger cities they forget....us in the smaller cities never forget.

  • That poor American LaFrance rig!

  • The only thing between this video being funny and totally epic is the lack of yellow snow.

  • Yeah I remember this winter storm. Ice everywhere and crap, made for fun times haha. But as you can see, people that should not have been driving were, so it was a little freaky at times.

  • @norsetenen a lot of people (myself included) don't have the luxury of simply not working because of a little snow.

  • @salemcripple Oh I had to work during this storm as well, the only crappy part was driving an Eagle Talon at the time. The 2wd front drive model, the 4wd model would have made life so much easier lol. I don't understand where you saw me stating I didn't work when it snowed though. No worries either way, after work finding empty parking lots late at night made this storm fun as hell too =p

  • drunk red necks probably from dallas oregon lol

  • @coffeeandsugar20 this IS Portland right by PGE park. You fool. Portland Oregon, home of the shittiest drivers.

  • @Djambel You said it. The people here can't drive for shit, even during the summer. Most unskilled drivers I've ever seen, anywhere.

  • Why is this first idiot punching the gas?

  • this's black ice

  • was this for fun?

  • @InterianEk

    ...is a local sport

    KEEP PORTLAND WEIRD

  • @InterianEk I think I heard someone yell "HEEEEEEELP!" around 0:25 ...

  • I went down to eugene during christmas time and when i came back up the drviers sucked at one point we moved like 20 feet in two hours . They were not prepared at all.

  • i was there the day that happened

  • Really this city is very bad in Winters but what's really funny is Portland is bad in rain too.

  • Hahahahahahahahahahahahah.

  • too funny! portland is so fucked every time we get an inch of snow.

  • thats not portland

  • @69truckin1 Oh yes it is!

  • that first guy scored the most points if were talking in terms of pinball here...

  • Damn, that first driver was a total gimp. He sped up after whacking into the street light. And I thought we had bad drivers in my home town of Vancouver, B.C. Sheeeeesh.

  • @coffeeandsugar20 yes this WAS in portland. i would be everything i own on it.

  • @coffeeandsugar20 it's in downtown Portland off 20th near PGE Park.

  • @coffeeandsugar20 Only problem is that IT WAS in portland, oregon. I live in Portland. What are you trying to cover up how stupid our own drivers are in the snow?

  • @RedDragonAirsoft After looking up some info. I saw this was in Portland. People make mistakes, but it seems like you can't let people make false asumptions!

  • why the fuck are they still gunning it?

  • @slingshot2427

Trying to get away with it! They don't want that on their insurance

  • @slingshot2427 yea, i couldn't believe some of these idiots trying to speed away from the scene of the crime.

  • @slingshot2427 we dont give up!

  • I live in Oregon and we dont drive like that! do you see the snow?!?! please,if there was that much slippery snow where you live people wud be crashing too.

  • @Rosebff1223: Dude I live here in Portland too, but you can HEAR and SEE very clearly in this video that this dipshit drivin this suv is flooring it everytime he hits something!!, is there a reasonable explanation for this?!..yah i slid all over the place on that day too, but i surely didnt play bumper cars on the street like that guy did on purpose!!

  • Idiot Americans think they can drive anywhere they want in their oversized cars.

  • Obviously the conditions are really bad, I doubt people suck at driving that much

  • @sloanmidwestXTC: Yah I agree.. in this case we can clearly see and hear that this driver is freaken flooring it for some odd ass reason!

  • dude they are drunk or can't drive..

    but funny XD

  • It's always some idiot in a SUV who thinks they can drive on anything messes it up for the rest of us.

  • The camera doesn't show how steep that is. This was on a hill that is steep enough that snow tires or chains are useless when it is icy.

  • @pdx5756: It dont matter how steep, he was flooring the gas man!, like others said in this channel, he was bouncin off with force off of other shit like a pin ball!..On purpose, not just letting gravity do its work either!

  • @besman007 Hi there, I heard that this was actually an elderly gentleman who mistook the brake for the gas. It could happen to any of us when we get older. Plus, when it gets snowy in Portland it is often much more slippery than in colder climates because its not cold enough to get sticky ice. Warm ice is actually more slippery because it is close to freezing. Portland used to get storms like this in the 70s when I was a kid, and it was quite hazardous.

  • A recent study shows that Portland actually has the slowest traffic and worst drivers in the country. The snow is just the icing on the cake. Maybe if they charged sales tax the city could pay for snow plows like every place else. You suck Portland. I hope there were deaths becuase of this.

  • @techdrumz Wow...

  • @techdrumz

you are a very aggressive person I think you need some help haha

  • @techdrumz

Don't hate because you got anally raped by Man Dingo last night. It'll be alright!!!

  • Women.

  • howly shit !!!!!!!!!!!

  • WTF!

  • i love it. i'd love to see it in person.

  • I live in Portland. What the hell? I never see this kinda thing. You'd think we'd be crashing bikes and such, but cars?

  • i cant stop laughing

  • hahahha

  • dude. i know where that is!

  • @spraguesnow1 you have to tell me where that is.

  • An insurance agents Nightmare!!

  • Prepare for more of this coming up really soon, hahaha.

  • Ahaha.

Oregon, appearently, has some of the best drivers in the country.

Wouldn't know from watching this, though.

    Haha, what a horrible mess.

  • I think we have some of the "best drivers in the country" in Portland because we have so few of them comparativly. A large portion of Portland residents ride bikes, walk, or use public transportaion.... but don't be fooled. This kind of scene is common, even when it rains! it doesn''t take much for Portland drivers to turn from some of the best, to some of the worst.

  • You APPARENTLY don't have to commute with THEM every morning.

  • Comment removed

  • How horrible!

  • i fell over years ago when i saw this on the news but its hella funnier now, i hope we dont get snowed in again........

  • nice video

  • an what part of slipping on your ass getting to the car made these think its a good dray to drive to work...

  • fail

  • thats scary what was going on

  • Now I know why it's the Bike Capital.... non driving

  • Hi, where Portland, OR and this is Winter Driving...(Jackass music plays)

  • lol i live there

  • this video kick ass!!!

  • This is the kind of drivers you get when cousins are allowed to marry and siblings have sexual relations. Every morning I have to commute with these people and 9 out of 10 mornings there is an incident. This is the only placed I've lived since I graduated college that more accidents are caused from "rubber necking"(accidents caused by people looking at accidents) than anywhere else. This is a clear case of a state allowing inbreeding to go on too long. I was here during this, YES it is real!

  • @BlusLvr21: I agree dude! LOL..I believe rubber necking also causes most of the pile up traffic we have in the city or freeways in portland too!

  • wow, is that real? I mean, for than been possible you have two options:

    a. People are just stupid because if you live there you know what is gonna happen, you don't wake up with 25 years, a drivers license in the middle of the winter without knowing how to drive and give it a try.

    b. How steep is that road? That compact sliding sideways is impossible unless the road is daaaammnnn steep, I am right?

  • 1) Yes, it is real.

    2) Yes, the majority of the people from here are ignorant and stupid.

    3) They do not know how to drive in extreme winter conditions and have no business being out in them.

    4) In their small defense, it hasn't snowed like this in the past, it was an unusually heavy snow, but they should not have been out in it.

    5) And finally, that street is not that steep. The snow and the freezing temperatures caused it to be 3 times as slippery causing all the fun you see here.

  • lol i remember that

  • OMG.... hellllll no. my fams from cali and they wanna move to portland... helllllll 2 tha no

  • i live in cali ma dad lives in portland its pretty bomb

  • damn for real? ok lemme rethink that then =]

  • you shud only bad thing is theres no ghetto spots to kick it at

  • lol. thats alright with me.

  • you aint got a lil ghetto in you

  • i didnt sayyy that=]

  • @ucehellajuiced please DO NOT move to Portland.

  • I dont feel safe anymore(what if that happens where I live?!?)

  • lol

  • You guys are morons. This has to be I think 1998 when we had one of the worst cold fronts ever come into Oregon, it went from raining to ice in a matter of hours, no one was expecting it. You can't control a car if its out of control, locked up and sliding on ice.

  • So how long have you been around Oregon? We get these ice storms every two or three years.

If it weren't for the ice storms we might not see the sky for all the tree growth!

I tend to think these drivers are some of the more recent urban imports. A real Oregonian would have the sense to not go out and drive when we get the ice storms.

  • Very true :P I've lived in Oregon my entire life, but never lived in Portland during the winter. I know Albany was only hit bad in 92 and 98 and we had some people there do some stupid crap. I live by Lincoln City now.. Want to see stupid traffic? our coast has tons of it!

  • NOT 1998, try this year, or last winter or the winter before that... pick your winter, Dude, I live here

  • No, this was within the last few years and was broadcast on local news channels.

  • That's a Prius at 0:35. Definitely not 1998.

  • Portland is the best!

  • wow they are really bad at driving,i thought that portland oregon was a nice town in the northwest

  • is this person drunk?

  • it was covered in an inch of ice because it had had freezing rain night before

  • you guys that say it is not in portland are dumbasses. it was all over the news for like a week. it is a slight downhill.

  • Of course is downtown Portland, this was even in the local news, investigate a little more, please.

  • looking at this video makes me so glad i'm not in my hometown of Indy anymore. I don't miss the snow at all.

  • yes yes is Portland im remember.

  • No, that is NOT Portland Oregon..

  • Yes, it is! Corner of SW salmon, and SW 20th to be exact. If you have Google earth, you can look and see for yourself. Go into "Street view", and you can see the white building where this was shot from.

  • ya that is Portland Oregon

  • thats not in portland

  • It Snows WAY worse than that in Michigan and we don't even have that many accidents..HAHA

  • It's not just the snow. The whole hill was covered in a solid inch of ice under the snow that most people didn't know was there (it all happened over night). On flat terrain, the cars handled just as they would on a regular snowy day. This is on a steep hill. Plus something about the snow here. It seems slicker, i've been in white out conditions, and snow storms all over this country. And none were as hard to drive in as the ones we have here in the Pacific NW. So it's not ALL the driver's fault

  • portlands awesome besides when its like this

  • Is that in northwest Portland?

  • Bumper cars, anyone? 8D

  • lmao i remember that shit

i stuck inside for like 4 days

  • should of had stayed home

  • johnnyponny4: what you probably don't know is that the street where this happened is about a 9% hill. and there are probably dumb drivers where you are, too.

  • Good to see at least someone has some brains.

  • Seriously if you have ever experienced a winter in Portland you know full well the city is not prepaired for snow and YOU NEED CHAINS...PERIOD! But for some reason half the population figures they'll be good without em as long as they drive slow. This last year there was a six inch thick sheet of ice (with over 6 feet of packed frozen snow in some areas) covering the street in front of our house, even with chains and 4WD we were slipping!

  • @Kaitrosebd You need chains, four wheel drive, and other snow survival equipment, because you might get trapped and die, outside your own house!

    You're absolutely right

  • I totally remember this, that was a year after I moved to Portland I even saw one of these videos actually taking place! That was funny as hell I must admit. And people don't be out on the street if you see a car flying by out of control.

  • I remember seeing this on the news. Haha! That sucks. I would hate to go to my car and see a side swipe in it. : P

  • lol. i was there i live in corvallis. climate change means snow in OR. we have NO idea how to deal with snow so this is what happened. we got a week of snow and portland was pretty much under lockdown

  • oregon drivers are some of the best

  • @ajk712 except is snow...but besides that, yes we are.

  • Comment removed

  • Dios que pasa aqui?

  • I live in Minnesota. Winter driving is NOT that difficult.

  • its an icy hill lol its pretty hard anywhere

  • Wonderwall339.. when their is snow/ice on Portland streets it's a lot harder to drive around than it is in Minnesota.... Oregon is not prepared for that type of weather... Also much of Portland is made up of steep, narrow streets that make navigation hard even when the sun is out.

  • That's true, It's lame

  • Those drivers are tards! I remember this storm. I was stuck in my place for 3 days straight. The ice was so thick you could barley walk without slipping! If you cant walk, you cant drive! Timmy! The issue has already been stated, it NEVER snows here, and 80% of the people here cant drive when its dry out. They think because the have a 9000LB SUV they can drive in anything. They dont take in to account weight in motion, and that one important factor...The ability to STOP!

  • This guy is right. Also since it never snows they don't have salt trucks or snow plows to treat the roads so they are worse than roads in places that are used to snow.

  • drunk driving on ice. fuuuuun.

  • i live in portland, and the idiots went out when weather was like this. Just because there is a video of this in portland, dowsn't mean that this just happends here

  • Females

  • People in Portland know they cant drive, so why did any one of these folks even get behind the wheel, on a sloped street, any way.. These must be the folks that ride bikes most of the time now.. better get bike riders and car Insurance

  • global warming my ass

  • retard global warming means warmer in summer and colder and winter

  • Yeah, I've never seen stupid drivers ANYWHERE else in these United States. :/ If you're making a comment about stupid drivers, I guarantee you're making that comment EVERYWHERE you drive...

  • bad drivers should stay home on days like this

  • yeah, stupid americans dont know what snow tires are

  • first of all, when its icy, snow tires don't work miracles

secondly, I live in portland and yeah, they are stupid drivers

  • Portland Pinball...

  • Yeah man these people are idiots...portland closes down if they get 1 inch of snow....If it were bend or Klamath it would take 2 feet. City Folk are so sheltered, they dont understand mother nature or anything else in the world besides lattes and rims.

  • Hey, the big city has dangers of it own (getting shot, stabbed, mugged, etc. just for being white in the wrong areas). Just because their different dangers, doesn't mean it's any less dangerous. I've lived half my life in the country, and the other in the city, i know about both worlds!

  • Haha omg I remember that.

  • lol me to i love how ppl here cant drive in snow i used to live in michigan and when i went there last the lake was ice it was like 15- F and piles of 6 foot tall snow piles next to houses my aunt lives next to lake erie the cops road snowmobile's lol rembering that makes the ppl here look so dumb

  • its because lazy/cheap portland doesnt get the snowplows until its been snowing sideways for a week

  • good drivers

  • O_O
