everyone should try cj's punch bait i use the monster bait with the purple lid and it works mirricles but they have a wide variety of punch baits and dip baits chum and selct group of home mead slipcork and slip cork accesories aswell they are number one in my book
@epicchapnasty You catch them the same way you would small channel cats or even bream. Most of them I've ever caught were around a pound maybe a little more.
@Marax1231 which ones do you want the 98lb wahoo not off a charter boat but off my own boat or would you prefer 32lb striper 5lb4oz brown trout and the list goes on have i won money in fishing tournaments yes i have would i out fish your dumb ass yes i would if your going to release a fish you should handle them better than body slamming them on the bottom of the boat get boca grips
@vandos11 no videos so stfu and quit giving people who have videos of them actually catching nice fish grief. and those yellow fish grips are the exact same thing for a tenth the price. they dont weigh the fish maybe but they are also a lot cheaper
you dot need a bobber you should put a hook on and then a sinker the sinker is on the floor when the hooks up in the air to where it wont get a snag as much
@xGh0stzZHD You want to pretty much use ONLY live bait, once in a while, cut bait, but mainly live bait, as flathead are really predatory fish, a fish that will swim into cover (Bluegill / smaller fish LOVE cover as it keeps out of predators way, though that's where the flathead hide)
NIce video, nice flat, but lose the fish grip unless you're targetting channels! Getting flat rash is like a war wound! Hand land 'em!! :) Happy cattin'
@browntroutangeler Not worth the time, does anything in nature clip the barbs off bullhead before flathead eat them? :P The idea is to present bait as naturally as possible, so no ... don't waste your time!
@CashSmeller I have only had luck with live bait for flathead - up here in MN we can't legally use bluegill for bait, but we can use bullhead up to 12", and creek chub or white sucker work well in a pinch. Happy cattin'!!
A 2 - 4'' bullhead or bluegill will do great. I also found out if you can go to a local creek and find some creek chub that are the same size that is great also. I usually use a 2/0 hook with an egg sinker heavy enough to keep the bait in place just so the bait will not swim off. I suggest using braided line, the tackle and bait i mentioned. I tend to find really good cat spots, off the beaten path. Find a good eddie or backwater where it is deep nearby to set up camp. Fish shallow at night.
@nesthutju All good points, also look for a good creek mouth, and snags/logjams are higly productive as well!! I have better luck with the 8-12" bullhead up here in MN. And I agree, creek chub or suckers work well also!! Bait fishing is half the fun I always say ;)
Hey, Paul. Thanks for the detailed info on why the rod broke. I learned a lot. I'll be sure & check out more of your videos. I just joined the United States Catfish Association, so I'll be sure & check out the posts there, as well. I just started posting Catfishing videos of my own on my YouTube channel.
