If you take an entry level sub and do the same, it would only last a fraction of the time which is probably what you expected of this one. No, this particular sub couldn't handle the continuous feed of power, not many high power subs can hold a sustained feed of 120 VAC.

I have used a 4,000 watt RMS, 8,000 watt peakpower inverter to compete before on a pair of stroker 18"s They would hold the outlet all day. in fact, we had them playing on a 220 volt single phase welder outlet for a while one day... its really not that much power... as for code, the 20 amps is home, a business is limited to 60 amps in NC, it varies from state to state... so get your info right before looking stupid... :)

You could have done that with a 200 watt amp...or any amp for that matter being that you had the coils wired out of phase. A 110 wall outlet delivers 1675 watts @ 50hz...now, you see how the cone wasn't moving? A T2 on 1675w @ 50hz free air would have been moving close to 3 inches. You can clearly see at the end of the video the cone "bump". That would be one of the coils letting go right before the other one. That sub would have happily taken the power if it were in a box & wired correctly

It's 60hz, not 50 dumbass. Code allows for up to 20 amps from the standard wall socket but most are limited by a breaker at 15. That means 1800-2400 watts potential. It NEVER would have taken that power in a box..or on the moon where you seem to live. 120 vac at 60 cycle = death to ANY speaker
