  • Dude quit babying those guitars!!

  • For a nice sounding demo of this amazing pedal running direct into a mixer check out my channel.

  • your playing is completely appropriate for demonstration of equipment.

    I appreciate your vids.

    Thanks.

  • "I'll put the gain at 3 o clock." My reaction: "I don't want the gain on 3 o clock I want it jacked up you fuck!"

  • I have one of these that dropped about 4 feet onto concrete and it never worked again. One of the buttons broke and possibly internal cold solder or something. Before I dropped it the power supply never really fit snug into the unit and it would lose power a lot and if you wiggle it it would come back on. I used to use it with a 50/50 tube power amp with an older boogie 412. It sounded OK but... I recently got a behringer TO800 that seems to make all my other gear sound GREAT ......

  • @ChrisW12208 The V-Twin pedal would sound KILLER with the TO800 or any real TS808 based tubescreamer in front of it. The V-twin is just missing that edge and so is a lot of amps and pedals. I am going to get mine repaired and make a vid of it as soon as I get the cash to do it.

  • This guys reviews have way too much talk, not enough meat. And his playing never suits the products he is reviewing.

  • i agree the guy below!!!! you dont know how to use distortion!!!! listen pantera!!!

  • Hi man, please, PLEASE, invest some time in learning to play guitar....the equipment you have is a dream but it is pain in the but to listen you ! Sorry for sharp comment, but it is for your benefit, hope you improve skilsand we all enjoy watching your next video. Best regards...and keep learning...PLEASE !!!

  • @mandukat011 Hey I got alot of info from tone kings vids.

Just how good does one have to be to review products?

I don't think the top guitar gods are looking to do non paid reviews, of all the products that come along.

  • Hey Tone King, during next month's 30 Pedals in 30 Days, run the V Twin through a tube powered power amp. I use mine through a Mesa Boogie Fifty/Fifty and it sounds incredible. I will leave the demos to you. The sound chain is basically

    Guitar - Keeley TS9DX - Mesa V Twin - Eventide Pedals (ModFactor-Space-TimeFactor) - Mesa Boogie Fifty / Fifty - Rectifier 2X12.

  • Great stuff Mister!!! You do a great job!

  • if you switched out the tubes, could you get closer to a dual recs tone?

  • Comment removed

  • i have a chance to buy this for about 180 euros(250 dollars)

could it do some gigs in smaller clubs and rehersals

  • woo! my tele!!

  • @zkkrlz lol

  • I'm aware.

  • YOU TALK ENTIRELY TOO MUCH. I COULDNT CARE LESS ABOUT WHO MADE WHAT FIRST. I JUST WANT TO HEAR THE PEDAL AND KNOW WHAT PICKUPS ARE USED AND WHAT TYPE OF AMP

  • @ean46514 YOU USE CAPS LOCK TOO MUCH.

  • I dont like blues or clean

  • Too bad this pedal is lame compared to Mesa amps. Flubby rect tone, and not voiced like a mark :(

  • I had one. nothing special to me. kinda flabby and just the same thing you can get a million other places. Yeah it's heavy as crap and built well. but it had that same super high gain double gain stage thing. I can't remember ever using the clean since it had so much noise. Holy Grail? no way. at least to me.

Holy Grail WAS the Fulldrive 2 Orange pedal. Now that worked. but go ahead and romance these because they are no longer making them. Listn to that sound at 5:30. that is booooring.

  • PERFECT PEDAL!

  • I remember really wanting one of these back in the day...it was a nice alternative to their more expensive rackmount preamps. I wish they'd reissue them.

  • great pedal but video sound bad

  • man please do better the sound recording, no reverb, no delay, better mics please, the video sound to bad

  • IMO, I don't think the reverb/delay helps this demo. It sounds ok, but distracts from the V-twin.

  • i don't know how good of a guitarist this guy is but it definitely did not show through here... i get the feeling a better guitarist might have made this pedal sound incredible.

  • 03:01 「Way cool , in my opinion "SUPER COOL"」

  • im a bit lost here... so DOES THE SOUND COME OUT OF THE PEDAL AS WELL ?

  • @TheMusicDude1997 No, it is basically a preamp, the little part above the knobs is a cage to protect the tubes, not a speaker.

  • This guy is friggen creepy...

  • I used to have a V-twin. Ran it into my Music Man HD150 with a fender 2X12 Cab I loaded MESA Black Shadows into. It was STRONG!

Always wished the little black switch in the middle was a foot switchable too.

    Thanks for the Demo

  • If this is a version 2 there are dipswitches on the bottom under a deckplate

  • It's a stainless steel box. I have one too.... Bought it new.

  • that's awesome!

  • cool

  • @lmsjr

did you mic it? it really sounds empty, so just curious.

  • Hey TTK! Can you make a demo of the EHX LPB-2ube? I'm wondering how would it sound to boost an amps dirty channel with it.

  • GOD, if only i had all those amps

  • I'm unsure if Mesa will still do it but my V-Twin has had a footswitch dropped in where the toggle switch is and it makes a lot easier to use.

Killer pedal, sounds particularly good through a Fender Twin.

  • HOLY COW!!!!!!!!!!1

  • good job

  • looks like a complicated pedal to use. i kinda like to plug n go hehe, good stuff nontheless

  • TTK... brother now we're talking... this thing KILLS!!! Amazing tone coming out of this monster... BTW, great sound and mic config. Question, are you a/bing the voice and speaker mics with a pedal? Cool trick! Cheers TK and happy holidays!

  • Well... trolls took me like 3 comments, but, that unit is awesome, wonder how would it sound with the trasatlantic with the power amp a bit cranked... using it as a preamp... that would sound awesome

  • i fucking want that. you rock TTK.

  • Everything MESA makes OWNS!

  • congrats on the great find haven't seen a v-twin in years

  • tk i dont think you did this pedal justice, i think you can make a really sweet metal tone with this pedal and maybe with some of your other amps like the mesa or 800 or even the ENGL, and a guitar with emgs or like the seymor humbuckers you know?

  • @Mo7Vsta he makes every piece of gear he reviews sound like shit

  • @nblax41 He may not be a very good player but the pedal still sounded good to me. :)

  • @kesx playing doesnt matter that much. he just makes everything sound like a fuzz pedal which is futile in showing what a pedal can do

  • @nblax41 Well mister... as you can see, this Tone King channel has a lot of followers... this guy you see here in the video is making a reference on what this units can do. If you have a better way to review pedals, believe me, tone king is always open to talk about it, i mean the guy is a very nice person, at least from what i can tell.

Why don't you start your own channel, and stop trolling?

  • @Sergioterol I honestly would if I was able to. Unfortunately, I'd rather spend my money and time on school than on gear so I can do something with myself when I'm older. Not trolling, offering my opinion.

  • @nblax41 If you're not here trolling, then what are you doing here? You have viewed several videos to form your opinion and you dont like it. Yet you go here and not only listen, but also write a comment.. If i find a video i dont like, you know what i, and im sure what most people do? I watch something else! Or do something else!

What i want you to do is: Use a webcam or cellphone, mic up how YOU like it, play something, show your face. Otherwise you're just a pathetic hater, grats.

    Go TTK!!

  • @vileguile4 As I said, if I had the time and money to waste, I would. Unfortunately, school comes before anything else right now.

  • @Sergio Terol Yes he has a lot of followers. Most know little about amps or pedals and think his opinion is the truth...I disagree with most salesman because they tend to be bias and misleading. Granted he talks way to much before he plays the stuff he is helping to get sold.

If you want to see a real guitar player who does a better pedal review by all means check out gearmandude...The guy gets everything the same way this guy does but he isn't bias towards gear...ANd he thinks reverb sucks!

  • @JBL8863 Honestly i watch gearmandude's too. I lke them too. But the thing is... you do not need to troll a channel or anything.

@nblax stay in school ;) and when you get the will to do something you like just for fun and you do it as extremelly well as you think you can do it... invite me to watch your channel, i'll be very pleased to watch your videos and give you thumbs up on every one of them :D

  • @Mo7Vsta

I have a V-Twin. Not a pedal that does super high gain metal tones very well.

Having said that anyone that needs more gain than you h ear at 9:40 needs to learn to play without hiding behind distortion.

  • YUS i watch every new video each day it comes out :P

  • TK, what would you say is a contender for your personal favorite guitar?

  • what do you think is the best amp to run with pedals?

  • i really like the sound of this pedal

  • blacksabbaths mobrules album was made with like a Mark2B

  • this thing sounds alot like a mesa mark series

  • Comment removed

  • this baby will give you that santana tone no problem!!

  • I WANT THAT!

  • why is it pronounces mess-a then and here he says may-sa

  • @JandTRockBand2 i've always said it may-sa, not that it really matters

  • @JandTRockBand2 mess-a is how you would say it in spanish and may-sa is in spanish with an english accent on it

  • i want this so bad T_T

  • lol failage on pronunciation of mesa :D

  • @JandTRockBand2 he didn't sat it wrong...lol

  • i used to have one, sadly had to sell it..

  • Nice pedal but it would take up a lot of space on your pedalboard. Looks like it's built like a tank.

  • That pedal is HUGE! And the sound is great too.

  • Lovin that blacktop, nice review ttk, thanks.

  • Boogie, without the Mesa!

    LOL! I funny!

Good job TK. DID you get my email?

  • ttk how do u afford all these things:

    amp

    pedals

    guitars

    strings

    cases

    tubes

    batterys

  • @xom400 He probably gets the stuff on loan and is also paid to review products on Youtube, check out Bugera's website he is on it for the demos...

I laugh when he did a comapison between Saldano and Bugera. He then makes the claim Bugera uses the same products as Saldano. He is a paid saleman.

  • @JBL8863 so when you see a John Petrucci video do you write comments dissing him on being a paid salesman for Mesa? Give the dude a break.... If you don't like .... don't watch!

  • @marthajam Messa amps are well made but I don't own one, I stay away from any company that sends their production line to China...Poor quality control in China!...

As for dissing the salesman, it's totally misleading to do a sound test with covered amps and say one is actual Soldano (which I own) and one is a Bugera (which I own)...

Then go on camera and say the parts in a Bugera are the same as a Sodano this isn't true!

ALL Saldano amps are put together point to point and inspected in USA.

  • Wow man, prejudice even in amp making

  • @ruffles272 Why call me prejudice for saying the truth, China uses slave labor to with virtually NO quality control to make just about everything including guitar amps..

I own a Bugera 1960 and I also own a 19 year old Marshall and a US made Saldana and take a guess which one has broke down...

If you think I prejudice just because I avoid buying Chinese made crap your a communist trolling the internet...Come and get me...

  • @JBL8863 Bugera do NOT use slave labour with no QC!

They ALL work for BEHRINGER, in the Behringer City factory. All are well paid and looked after, with an employment waiting list of 3 years!

Slave labour I doubt it. You FORGET, Behringer is a GERMAN company! And German Co.s look AFTER their employees not matter WHERE they manufacture!

  • @ace69er youtube video BUGERA Factory Tour ... bugera behringer matteo bergamini 333 333xl 6262 6260 vintage china factory

See for yourself...3 year waiting period for what to go and work in a shop in China...

The video was so rehearsed...They cleaned the place up before the cameras were rolling...

Poor quality control is why there are lead based/date rape drug chemicals used in children's products coming out of that country.

  • @JBL8863 I've seen several, including 1 made by an Aussie music supplier who took his own video diary during his 2 week visit there. Wasnt the same place.

I think you will find that 1st video, was in a contract factory in the very early stages when Uli had NO facilities set up to make the amps.

You are just a right wing, anti communist/chinese schill!

  • @ace69er

You need to learn more about Germany and German companies. We subcontract out to China and other asian countries.

While I agree that the calling low paid chinese workers at the Bugera plant in china "slaves" is out of line they are a factory of relatively unskilled workers and Bugera is a low end maker.

If you want high quality German amplifiers buy a Diezel or an ENGL or a Framus or a higher tier Hughes and Kettner

  • @ThieleM Those brands also manufacture in China. Behringer do NOT use contract factories any more. Behringer have their OWN giant facility in Songshan. Uli Behringer is there at least 6 mths of the year!

They may have started low end, but they are getting around middle market now.

And I know about german companies. My family and friends, worked for Robert Bosch for many years and were always well looked after.

So I think I have some experience in this matter. I am part german extraction also!

  • @ace69er

They make equipment that is of very good quality for the price point but Bugera IS a lower end maker. The mid market is occupied by the non custom shop products of companies like Marshall, Fender and Vox. Bugera is a step down.

It doesnt matter what your family did or who they worked for, you aren't qualified to make broad spectrum dictates like you did.

I am not of German extraction. I am a German.

  • Dude chill I was just kidding.. God its the internet no ones gonna give a shit about your opinion anyway

  • @JBL8863

    What is a saldana?

  • @ThieleM Shes the hot black chick who re-incarnated Lt. Uhura in Star Trek! Hubba hubba!

  • @ace69er

    aaah

    Zoe

  • @ThieleM BINGO! 1 & Same!

  • @JBL8863 Just because its made in china doesn't mean its bad.

  • @danukenator123 if it doesnt have bad quality i personally dont like things made in china because its taking away jobs here in america!!!

  • @JBL8863 That was well put! But....... I took 30 seconds and Googled "Soldano circuit board "..... behold I found a picture of a Soldano SLO100 which has a PCB board and therefor not "ALL" Soldano's are point to point wiring......

I think we can agree on the Tone Kings "misleading" reviews though. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

  • @martha jam One should also bear in mind that there is absolutely no sonic difference between point-to-point and printed circuit board wiring. Detractors of PC boards have argued that they are less reliable due to cracked solder joints or failure prone to burned traces—neither of these complaints are ever an issue with a properly designed board.

THe only way to guarantee this is through quality control backed by a warranty.

  • @JBL8863 ..... what ever man.... merry xmas!

  • How much?

  • @AryaBara if you would have listned, it's discontinued and on ebay it goes for about 300 bucks

  • @Krakthor LOL! People NEVER listen!

  • @ace69er True. Well I did. and I read. Which you did too. Obviously

  • nice
