You might be able to get away with what this girl does if you work at apple bees and the average check is $ 30- 40. If you work in a restaurant do the opposite as her and do not talk and explain simple things to customers like she does.. she talks to much... if you need to explain how you do your job, you probably shouldn't be doing it." I have been in the restaurant industry for 5 years now and if this girl was serving me i would leave the table. For one thing being a server originated in Rome were servers got there name because they were slaves ... You job is to do what you are told and get it done in the best way possible. This girl talks way to much and talks as if you are speaking to a little child. You should treat your customers respectfully and not make everything sound like a big ordeal.

i am a server and i hate when people ask for separate checks, however i do not ask them if is going to be together or separate at least they request it. Do you think if i ask this quetion before running the food into the computer would it look to bad? ;)

That is quite unpolite to do. Figure if it is someone's teen birthday and he\she wants to surprise everyone by paying all drinks and desserts. That would ruin it. Also asking how will the payment occur at the beggining of the meal sounds really unpolite.
