  • Us redhead girls are the best!

  • My husband said this song is about me. I'd like to believe it was about cute redheads such as myself. Thanks babe!

  • TYPE O NEGATIVE IS BETTER |m| UPSET IN 3, 2, 1 ....

  • favorite song, oops! Girl! Too bad she lives a long way, away...

  • Nothing like Neil Young! Still rocking....cool.

  • While I am at it let me say that Neil is, along with Ted Nugent, one of the most underrated Guitarists ever.

  • I want a Cinnamon Girl with large breasts, and then I want a Turmeric Girl with a nice butt.

  • @Slumpnasty Big boobs are overrated. More than a handful is wasted is the absolute truth.

  • @karlmoles65 My first girlfriend had small boobs, and I loved her very much. Indeed, I encourage sampling many different varieties.

  • @Slumpnasty Good man! I feel just the same about it.

  • @Slumpnasty sampling many differnt warieties.? you talk about women like there set out on a buffet table. >:(

  • @MinnisotaNice Indeed, I'm a hungry man.

  • Wow.... great album great song.....

  • Rock on neil young, I saw a show, at alpine valley, around 85?.

  • LOVE THIS SONG!!

  • Interesting fact: Neil was in a band with Rick James when he was young.

  • I"m here because of the new movie "We bought a Zoo!"

  • I love this song! Cameron Crowe uses this song in his new film, 'We Bought a Zoo.' Neil Young is a brilliant artist.

  • i don't live in USA

  • @risto994 I live on the moon. Say hello to Elvis. He's up here and we're partying with Elvis :)

  • cinnamon girl

  • jag älskar min canel flickan!

  • Thanks very much for this.

  • @54markI you sound like a pipsqueak lol

  • I give much reverence to Neil for this song, but I love the Type O Negative version.

  • I never realized the solo was 1 note until someone pointed it out. I always thought it was the best way to rock for this tune.

  • @shack8110 You're welcome bro!

  • @ the OP. Thanks for posting the original of what may be THE best 3 min rock song ever recorded. Timeless.

  • i can not play the guitar so .....I SPIT ON YOU ALL THAT MOCK THE PLAYING OF THE MUSICAL WOOD STICK.

  • Yngwie is lucky to be on the same planet as Page.

Jimmy is the sloppiest guitarist ever....yet the BEST (other than a very few.) Whereas Yngwie is a technical wizard...with NO SOUL !

He's a human computer. Boring as hell.

  • Yngwie Malmsteen owns Jimmy Page.

  • @hoosyerdaddie FAIL,..Jimmy created more memorable riffs

  • @hoosyerdaddie as a guitar player yes, but Page is a better song writer and is much more easy on the ear than Malmsteen and is also part of one of the greatest bands of all time.

  • @tommydhammer except Page stole alot of his songs

  • @48dodea guitarist always borrow ideas from each other. Thousands of bands will have copied led zepplin

  • mmmmmm you just can't beat the sound of real music..

  • love the one note solo!

  • i remember covering this in the old days & getting carried away on the electrics, really going grunge way before it all ever happened, dont tell me neil aint cool.....i was there, he fuckin' rocked my socks off......as for that comment above......jimmy page can never be over rated....he is legend

  • "Cinnamon Girl" sounds a lot better than Gingervitis

  • Sorry, but I just cannot like Neil Young, unfortunately a band mate is dying to play this. Oh well.

  • LOVE that guitar starting at 2:06

  • "A dreamer of pictures, I run in the night!"

    Great imagery!

  • Another sweet tune !

  • Always loved this great song!

  • I always saw this song as being about groupies---girls who follow rock bands and singers and, er, live to do FAVOURS for them. The girl in the song supports herself by conning money out of her parents...("Pa send me money now...")no doubt pretending to need it for college. But the song says otherwise both lyrically and musicaly.

  • @Opticon48 well that is a bit jewish in it

  • philip sayce does i wicked version of this great track too

  • type o negatives cover was pretty good

  • John Entwistle did an amazing cover of this song.

  • One note solo. . .ahhhh : ) i am a Cinnamon Girl (& thanx for posting this studio version...oh to be 17 again: )

  • @pallypoo123 Yeah, the one note solo! Love it. Same with parts of the solos on "Like a Hurricane". Neil's guitar lifts you way up, then holds you there with one note, like blowing under a feather to hold it up, then he allows you to come back down before taking you somewhere else.

  • I should go for a cinnamon girl gives me an idea, columbia ???

  • the 35 that dislike need a whack on the back with a big stick!

  • This song's guitar solo it's the Eddie Van Halen's favourite.

  • The song was written for and about Jean Ray, sister of Paul McCartney's guitarist Brian Ray...

  • @Leemanwentz As was "Cowgirl in the Sand" - she was a popular folk musician in the 60s.

  • 70年代、ニール・ヤングお得意のグッド・メロ・ロックンロール群の先駆けナンバーだったネ!~シナモン・ガール~この頃からあの軋む痛快無比ギター音

  • I was sent here by a group of Cinnamon teens. They told me to do it.

  • Some Stupid Jerk emails to me that I am little-schooled in the ways of Rock. Just because I say that Neil's final lead on Cinnamon Girl is probably the best lead in a single song in Rock. I have listened to Rock all my life and are better-schooled in it than you are, whoever you are. I love Jimi Hendrix more than I can say, I met him when I was a child. But, as to a lead for a single song, the Cinnamon Girl lead at the end of the song is the best one, and I stand by that. :/

  • You know what I liked when I was first turned on to Neil ? His guitar work was and is original.

  • Best guitar solo in The Universe! O mighty Young!

  • @54markl Great music, great guitar... but "Best guitar solo in The Universe"...? Dude, you've had VERY LITTLE exposure to rock music, very very little. What about Clapton, Hendrix, Duane Allman, Ritchie Blackmore, Jimmy Page, and etc...???

  • @kewlbreez77 Pipsqueak, I was listening to Rock 'n Roll long before you were born. Ilove your precious Hendrix too, he will always be the Greatest Guitarist of Rock. But can't I even complement Neil without you jumping down my throat? The Other guitarists you listed are not as good as Neil, sorry. Jimmy Page is vastly overrated by the Xs!

  • @54markl I doubt you were listening to music all that long before me, especially as you don't know when I 1st was listening to music (it was the early 60's). Well now, you OBVIOUSLY know very little about playing the guitar, as Neil Young is a good guitarist, but does not come close to the ones I mentioned. Also, Page is an excellent guitarist, rated 3rd in Rolling Stone's poll of Top 100 guitarists all time. Hendrix, Clapton & Page rated 1,2,3; obviously Page is not overrated...

  • @kewlbreez77 Why does it have to be a competition you fool,Just stick to reading your magazines because if we go off them where do you rank as a guitarist ?

  • @54markl --- you're just an ignoramus about guitar playing; nuff said! Duane Allman is rated higher, was a better guitarist. As far as solos go the guitarists I mentioned have much better ones, incl'g Blackmore. Your opinion of Cinnamon Girl solo is yours, but that solo doesnt compare, good as it is, to the work of the others no way, no how. I saw Townsend, Page, Howe, Santana & many others in concert, including Neil, and he was not better than the others, good, very good, but not better

  • @kewlbreez77 Do you really have to base everything on ratings? Why not go by your own feelings toward music. Ratings are a person or group of people who like to hear themselves talk!

  • @54markl Neil is just underrated™. I love his music. Have for some time too. So, I agree with you to that point. All the people you mentioned in your post have their own little flavor that they left on the world of rock.

  • @54markl page is a studio guitarist, sounds nothing live than on albums where they can take re-takes, now listen to Alvin Lee of Ten Years After live at Woodstock, now he rocked great live

  • @mickeyadams527 Have you heard any live Zeppelin?

  • @capodencia85 i didnt mean jimmy page like that, i think he is one of the great guitarists ever born, what i meant is how perfect studio music is, live they play the way they feel and i remember him with that bow playin his guitar, i meant no disrespect for jimmy page, just that i have been a ten years after fan so long.

  • @54markl Oh, I'm sorry, I thought for a moment you said Jimmy page was overrated, because if you had ever listened to his playing you would think quite differently.

  • @EpicProductions2000 You have to listen to everything to really grasp why he is a great riffmaster, from his pre Zep yrs. to his post Zep. yrs. Jimmy Page was so much more than just Led Zep even though that is a big part of him.

  • @54markl you delusional retard don't ever say anything like that again, I will find you

  • @54markl Man I love Neil Young. He's one of the greatest guitarists that ever lived, but Jimmy Page is plain and simply Jesus Christ with a Les Paul and that's it. NO ONE but Hendrix is in Page's league, EVER.

  • Love this song!!! Epic! Just saw an L.A. band do a version of Cinnamon Girl that is crazy great!

    search

    Cinnamon Doll

  • Who doesn't Love the Cinnamon Girl ?

  • Pamela!!! Oh Pamela!! Oh, Pamela Courson, it's your song, where are you Pamela?? Oh wait, thats right, you're dead!!!

  • I'm going to drop some acid go to the strip joint and get a lap dance to this.

  • is my username an ode to this song or a reference to the fact that a knockoff cereal brand box was in front of me when i made my username? YOU decide :D

  • Oh my gosh my FAVORITE song of Neil Young's & one of my TOP 10 favorite songs for all time....Geez...this is a walk down memory lane! TY!

  • Just heard this for the first time. Which showed me how AMAZING Type O Negative's version is!

  • Canada's gift to mankind!

  • I wish I could have a cinnamon girl. I never had one:(

  • Neil Young rocks the free world!

  • I am my husbands cinnamon girl!

  • THANK YOU FOR UPLOADING THIS STUDIO VERSION!

    GREAT IDEA!!! TAKE CARE!!!

  • Haha, anyone remember "Cinnamon" from Mission Impossible? Muy caliente

  • I would've copied and pasted your comment but you didn't mention Neil Young. ( Or The Who ).

  • You say dr.dre, I say The Doors

You say Hannah Montana, I say The Rolling Stones

You say Owl City, I say Led Zeppelin

You say Jonas Brothers, I say The Beatles

You say Justin Bieber, I say Queen

You say Taylor Swift, I say AC/DC

95% of teens these days listen to the same crappy pop over and over again. If you're one of the 5% who still listens to real music, thumb this up, then copy & paste it to at least five videos. Dont let the spirit of rock and roll die

  • @canadienqc06 you say copypasta, i say be original.

91% of teens only listen to what people tell them to do, if you are part 9% then great job.

  • @row907 yep :)

  • @row907 you realize the irony in that eh?

  • @row907 dont you think 91% of humans ?

  • @canadienqc06 Dr. Dre is far from pop dumbass.

  • @canadienqc06 Shut the hell up douchebag

  • @canadienqc06 yeah your so rock and roll, i mean everyone knows begging for thumbs up on youtube is something the rolling stones or the beatles would have done..

  • My high school senior prom featured the Gentrys, who did a cover of Cinnamon Girl that was released in the spring of 1970. The girl I took to that prom, because of this song, will always be my cinnamon girl! I just told her that again today, more than 40 years later...

  • @areubaked aww how sweet! Seriously =)

  • One of those songs that explodes out of the speakers right from the get-go.

  • is this song about a HOT ASS GINGER?????...lol

  • @rdb1975 bout a black girl lol

  • This guy ripped off Motorhead.

  • @antdigger Try everyone has ripped off Neil Young.

  • @antdigger I doubt it

  • @antdigger but neil young was before motorhead

  • Prefer the Type O Negative version personally..

  • this song is actually wrote for jean ray of jim and jean (folk duo) ... she doesnt appear to be foreign at all maybe native american i dont think so tho

Thanks, I needed a good laugh today :-)

  • @onkobo maybe some help???

  • I Have one I love her Been Together 24 yrs

  • Comment removed

  • I fell in love with Neil Young after hearing this song at a party in 1971 ! : )

  • The Type O Negative version is epic!

  • Why didn't he just sing I wanna be with my ginger girl??????

  • Cinnamon girl is about a red-haired girl.

  • I think the ppl who say cinammon refers to the personality are the closest. As usual Neil is very cryptic, preferring everyone gets what they want out of the music. In the "Decade" liner notes he doesn't really shed much light on it at all, other than saying it pissed off his then wife Susan Acevedo. The surviving members of the Horse said in an interview later it referred to personality more than anything else-spicy and sweet

  • This song is about a middle-eastern/jewish babe, that's what a "Cinnamon" is :)

  • @tickedoffnow I always thought he was singing about a redhead........oh well, you probably know better than me.

  • @tickedoffnow I always pictured a beautiful red head of some sort.

  • ya that or a ..uhh..red head?

  • @tickedoffnow Haha, that reminds me of my crazy eighth-grade art teacher. There was this brown kid in our class, and she said to him once, "Your skin is like a cinnamon bun. But in my day we used to call them 'sticky buns.' So you're my little sticky bun."

  • @tickedoffnow i always thought it was about heroin

  • MMMMM-Cinnamons... XD

  • Great song thanks..

  • THIS IS THE FIRST SONG I EVER LISTENED TO HIGH IN 2005, AND I STARTED HEARING EVERY VOCAL AND GUITAR TRACK SEPERATELY YET SIMULTANEOUSLY.

I DONT SMOKE ANYMORE, BUT EVERYTIME I HEAR THIS SONG I GET A GREAT FLASHBACK. LIKEEEEE BIGTIME!!

  • i think this song is about how the government of all countries fk up the world.

  • WOW! Jerry Sandusky hated this 32 times!

  • classic classic I AM the Cinnamon Girl ha lol Happy BDay Neil

  • love this song ...

  • This song really brings back memories!!!

  • 32 people have a paprika girl

  • he made this song when pamela courson, the cinnamon girl, died in 1974

  • There was a common belief that since Young was involved and living with Carrie Snodgress that this song was about her. I have also heard that cinnamon was term used for heroin, but I cannot swear to its validity. All I know is that this is classic Neil Young. It doen't get any better than this. Only problem with this cut, it is too damn short. Should have been and could have been as long as "Down by the River". Via con Dios, Amigos and thanks for having this album posted here. Ciao.

  • @HayZing the song is possibly rumored to been written about pamela coureson (Jim Morrison's girlfreind)

  • This takes me back...love it!

  • Yeah! Type-O-Negative!!!! \m/

  • Love this... :)

  • 32 people wouldn't know music if it came up and bit them on the ass

  • I Want to be his Cinnamon Girl, I miss my Best Friend!

  • Jim Morrison was convinced Niel had written this song about his girlfriend Pamela Courson.

  • cinnamon girl=heroin.

    Thats my theory anyway.

  • 32 people must not have a cinnamon girl.

  • Had this on vinyl many years ago.

  • Gingers have no soul!

  • you nieve, problem starting youngins need to learn good music... late breaking news...KESHA SUX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im 24 so im still kinda young... but i know goood soulful music when i hear it. long live crosby stills, nash and young.

  • Thank you Neil for putting the song on youtube. And if everyone just ignores. "F**** bastard" he will spread his seeds of hatred elsewhere .

  • where is your cinnamin girl? She may be right where you left her.

  • Whoever said gingers have no soul is a liar. See, Neil Young knows this, you should too.

  • S and M girl; oh, yeah.

  • yep, sounds like a hater of everything and everyone, must be why his screen name is what it is ... the name says it all

  • type o negatives version is great also, its even better

  • @MrButch1977

Even Type O would kick your ass for saying that.

  • One note solo. Only NY could pull it off. Plus the "wild thing" ending, followed by the timeless coda.

  • Because he is a fuckin' bastard.

  • @FuckngBastard why are you posting this on every neil young video?

  • @JustSomeGuyOk doesn't the name tell you everything?

  • @FuckngBastard if you don't understand the music, get off of youtube.

  • @FuckngBastard lame for posting this on multiple videos. it really gives me an insight on how hardcore of a fag you are buttmunch

  • Missing my Cinnamon Girl ;) Five days and counting!

  • Still a perfect song.

  • 29 are still looking for a Cinnamon Girl

  • The outro of this song is totally metal and I think that's awesome.

  • i feel bad for Neil, getting excited about the Jets again....theyre gonna be bad for a long time ;(

  • type Os version is great

  • The song makes total sense get deep, who is your cinnamon girl ,your first love when you rely feel love not lust of a young man, your passage into man hood .

to grow up is to try to think beyond your age. for example why do people cut there hair not to conform but to excell think beyond the words look for the meaning .

songs are short the brillants is in making it work in 3 min!!!!

  • tHIS SONG AND COWGIRL IN THE SAND ,WERE BOTH WRITTEN IN 1 WEEKEND WHEN NEIL WAS SICK,WITH A RAGING FEVER!!!! TALK ABOUT TALENT! LOVE ALWAYS NEIL!!!
