  • her voice is gold. she is also extremely unique looking. in a good way

  • @EyeAmbivalenceEye I never even brought up Marxism or compared it to communism in my comment. I was just pointing out that you misinterpreted the meaning of the song. Was your comment a response to someone else?

  • @EyeAmbivalenceEye. This has absolutely nothing to do with communism. It has to do with mass produced suburbs like "Levittown". It was written in 62 as a criticism of the homogeneity of suburbia. So it speaks volumes about the American dream & conformity. ( and you could argue racism as well).

  • Rise Against version is better xD

  • @rawriizbigga Why do you go to every version of this song and post this crap?

  • @jlusipher369 trolling <3

  • im Brayan Baez :D lol

  • Love Joan's version of this song.......

  • Love it :-)

    Saskia

  • hey..rise against sang it better..

  • @fermerwuvu

    Pfffft!

  • Well done, Joan!

  • Love Joan's version of this great song - also love the series Weeds.

  • Beautiful and soulful, just what I'd expect from Joan Baez. 5 stars without a doubt *****.

  • @goldenoldiesPete that hurt my ears

  • which one is the real one?

    1st or second?

  • they are all the real one. every episode is season 2and 3 has a different band singing the song.

  • Love Joan Baez! Love Weeds! Now they just need Debbie Harry to do a version!

  • I LOVE WEEDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I sing this song quietly to myself while I have my customer's on hold...it helps ease the frustration & reminds me that they don't realize but they're in those little boxes when the go nuts about their wireless bills, or just say, "I want, I want, I want..."

  • Now if you could only get your employer to put this song on the music that the CUSTOMER hears while they are on hold.........

  • in my old office there was a cd player in the closet on repeat and that was the hold music that would play, they'd change the cd every month or so.

when the company was doing bad i was sure i'd be the first to get laid off (front desk guy), so i burned 5 black sabbath cds and 5 iron maiden ones, and put them unmarked in the drawer where all the other cds went. day i was let go, popped in the black sabbath, almost a better feeling than severance pay.

the day came, the cd was changed

  • @VicDeHaven Oh that would be priceless...

RIGHT! Hackers and crackers of the I-nation, go forth and change all waiting music into Little Boxes, starting, of course, with the Real Estate companys

  • this place looks like Davis California

  • not even man, davis at least has some character

  • Many of the exterior shots of the show are filmed on location in and around the bedroom community of Stevenson Ranch, California and Santa Clarita, California.

The aerial photo during the intro is of Calabasas, California

  • At Stevenson Ranch, the great oak was killed by John Laing Homes, with John Quigley as a tree sitter. Shame on JLH.

  • Since when does Davis have hills?

  • imagine dylan doing this song

apparently, there needs to be the hottest women in lingerie for him to advertise

  • Just saw Joan in concert and went looking for videos and hit this. One of my favorite AM radio songs from the early 60's! (I don't get HBO)

  • Lol, did this show just get random famous people to sing the same song for each new season?

I know there's a Shins, Deathcab and Spektor opening of this song....I find that highly entertaining for absoloutely NO reason

  • I just like the idea of having a lot of different people singing this almost forgotten little folk song about the creepy sameness of suburbia... and how it is just as true today as maybe 20 or 30 years ago when the song was written. probably more so.

  • I totally agree. This song reminds me so much of my hometown. It's creepy, actually.

  • Actually, it was written nearly *50* years ago, right when "suburbia" was a new term. Old folk songs from the 50s, 60s, and 70s are ALL so relevant today. I'm glad this show got people to pay attention to that genre.

  • me too. i love how it reeks of sarcasm. it's hard to listen to it without looking at suburbia from a critical perspective. and it's perfect for the show...

  • God what a GREAT voice! And so humble.

  • gotta love joan baez

  • You all should hear the Joseph Israel version of Little Boxes

  • Where can I fear that...tell me more about this Joseph Israel!!

  • i like this song and the show (Show #34) was great ;) cant wait for show #35

  • cute!

  • Nice.......

  • it's Joan Baez

  • Thanks, I was really slacking on this posting.
