Sorry, what are "plank/powder twin tip free ride skis"? I am not really in the ski scene, but would like to learn more. (Especially if need to buy completely different skis to learn to ski powder).

@Etrajbe you have more controll over 1 plank then you have on two, its like holding a sword with 2 hands or holding a sword in each hand, you'll have more controll and strength over it.
@DarkLight789 Learn simple phyiscs. with 2 you have infinitely more combos to do .You can spread legs to where u want riding places snowboards virtually cant go, you have WAY more balance, about the same surface area, snowboard is heavier than single skiis, look up how muscles work, the contraction is bigger when working alone, there fore we have more strength in control. Same as when u workout your biceps you can do heavier with 1 weight in each hand then one big weight.
@DarkLight789 taht is why in snowboard movies you see just the same lame tricks over and over, because grabs and spins/flips is ALL you can do with that one plank, while in skiing u see insane creative combos like the tornado where the whole thing is exactly the crossing and other things that requiers TWO planks. To ski at the level that the people in this video takes more than time. It is very clear you haven't skied. The key to skiing like this is to stay relaxed. Yea your saying how should I stay relaxed when I'm coming down the hill 70km a hour. Well I'll say one thing, I'm scared too, but you my skiies can't know it or I will fall. And if i wall unrelaxed I can get hurt a lot worse because my mucsles are stiff. That doesn't mean you won't fall, everybody takes a spill or two. Everyone of these skiers probably spilled and got hurt bad atleast a few times.

It is easy to learn to ski, but very difficult to master. It is hard to learn to snowboard, but easy to master.
Skiing is easy to learn due to more balance from having skis seperate, but to learn how to ski like this takes many weeks of skiing. Learning to snowboard is hard to learn as it feels very unnatural to have both feet secure and loss of balance, but once this is overcome, the progression to a very competent snowboarder is merely a few weeks

Callum9592 states it takes many weeks to learn ski like this. Haha, I hope you are kidding. Skiing and snowboarding takes years and to master. To ski at the level that the people in this video takes more than time. It is very clear you haven't skied. I live in Utah anytime you want to come show me your skills I will pay for your lift ticket and hot coco after a day of you getting your butt kicked on the bunny slope. PS. Snowbird rocks!!

@stigmajones By many weeks of skiing, I mean one ski holiday counts as one week of skiing. over many years you will rack up these many weeks of skiing, and unless you are lucky enough to ski the season, I doubt most people would ever accumulate enough weeks on the snow to get a years skiing let alone many years. I have done about 25weeks skiing, and currently live in Val Thorens... I have also had one week of snowboarding... much easier to develop skills quickly. I would love to show my skills.

The key to skiing like this is to stay relaxed. Yea your saying how should I stay relaxed when I'm coming down the hill 70km a hour. Well I'll say one thing, I'm scared too, but you my skiies can't know it or I will fall. And if i wall unrelaxed I can get hurt a lot worse because my mucsles are stiff. That doesn't mean you won't fall, everybody takes a spill or two. Everyone of these skiers probably spilled and got hurt bad atleast a few times.

global warming will actually help skiing and snowboarding, because during the summer months it will be way hotter releasing more precipitation into the air and at the same time we will still have a cold winter because of the earth's positioning from the sun. So we will actually have better winters with more snow. Just not as insanely cold.

It is easy to learn to ski, but very difficult to master. It is hard to learn to snowboard, but easy to master.
Skiing is easy to learn due to more balance from having skis seperate, but to learn how to ski like this takes many weeks of skiing. Learning to snowboard is hard to learn as it feels very unnatural to have both feet secure and loss of balance, but once this is overcome, the progression to a very competent snowboarder is merely a few weeks
