  • salty sam, leiber stoller, excellent primitive rock n roll live on

  • Loved the slapstick! And the funny cartoons...I have the record so I know the song.

  • I think that is Speedio in the middle! I love that man:) Cadillacs and Coasters.

    Lucca

  • RIP to Coaster Carl Gardner

  • why cant I watch oldskool music vids without seeing some whining pussy complain about today's music?

  • @slickhenrik Why can't I read through comments without hearing childish complaining in profane comments about the other comments? From my observations, I see that proper spelling is not longer taught in schools in the present day. To assist you in life, I'd like to point out that "skool" is properly spelled "school". I can tutor you if you with some spelling lessons if you require.

  • @darkpoetcc

Youre complaining urself, motherfucker! Also i am able to use proper orthography if the situation demands it, but right now im on the internet and no one gives a shit. Apart from that my spelling of oldskool was correct, considering i come from a hiphop background.

Protip: When ur proposing to tutor someone on the internet about grammar and spelling and shit, try not to FUCKING MISS OUT ON ANY WORDS IN UR SENTENCE!

  • @slickhenrik, sorry I just had to LOL at your comment.

  • @slickhenrik Ah yes, as I thought. If you actually had read (pronounced like the color red) the comment I posted, I asked why I had to read through "childish complaining" in "profane comments" (comments that use profanity due to lack of intelligence). Also, you try to deflect with your "Protip"; I never mentioned grammar, now did I? Good tactic, but I've been in debates in the business world. I hope you one day realize how childish your speech and manner shows you to be.

  • @slickhenrik Furthermore, I disagree with your spelling reasoning. If I move to a location where everyone spells "Thomas" "Pxkrtnop", that does not make the spelling correct; it just means it has been accepted by people who do not care if they are wrong or right, so long as they are happy with their perceptions and ideas.

  • @darkpoetcc

So if I move to a location where everyone spells "colour" "color", that does not make the spelling correct? It just means that it has been accepted by people who do not care if they are wrong or right, so long as they are happy with their perceptions and idead?

Maybe you should rethink your argumentation...

  • @darkpoetcc

Have I offended you with my profanity? Are u one of the whining pussies I was talking about? In my opinion expletives are a great way to get your point across and to express emotions especially anger. Is it chilidish to think it is sad that the glorification of oldies goes hand in hand with the devaluation of current music? What makes your complaint not chilidish?

  • @darkpoetcc

And no you never mentioned grammar, I give you that. Still, I dont think you should be correcting peoples spelling in an arrogant fashion, while ur own sentence structure is messed up!

  • this rocks!

  • EARL SPEEDO CARROLL LEFT THE COASTERS IN 1981 TO REJOINED THE CADILLAC'S.

  • Some of the Coasters came from an R&B group called the Robins. I used to hear the Robins on a great R&B radio show hosted by the legendary DJ Hunter Hancock here in the L.A. area.

Most all of the Coasters hits featured 2 different lead singers. The late Billy Guy and Carl Gardner. My favorite song was Searchin with Bill Guy singing lead.

  • saw the Coasters in the 80s at a big show with Oingo Boingo.GoGos ,the Specials and the Police. Coasters stole the show!(also Specials were great)--I couldn't believe all the great hits that I knew ,but didnt know it was the Coasters. And the music and performance were incredible.

  • I just love it when they ride their 'horses'! Bah haha! =D

  • I just saw these guys in Vegas a month ago at the Rio. The survivors at least. They were great, and yes they did sing this song.

  • And then along came Barack...LOL

  • Few, if any, people under about 55 or 60 know about this song or what it refers to. It takes grey hair and a wrinkled face to even try to explain this to the youngsters - the nice thing is that some of them like it anyway, without any explanation.

  • @BluezGuitarz I'm eighteen and I eat this music up. This song is good, but I like Poison Ivy the best.

  • speedo carroll from the cadillacs is in the middle

  • @hardsly I had to look at this to be sure... that certainly IS Earl Carroll!

  • @denmackar They played at our all night grad party in '65

  • Back when the only bling was a watch. Hell yes we need to get back to this.

  • The Coasters rock! From a time when entertainers could entertain without being pretentious twats.

    Thanks for posting!

  • haha i remember my parents had this 50s cd called teenage memories: when smoke getrs in your eye, or something like that and this was the last song on the cd i used to play this over and over lol the best is the guy with the real deep voice

  • Despite its agedness, this song succintly portrays all we can expect from suspense movies. They understood it then. Why don't we get it now?

Suspense movies need to be different these days if they want to portray suspense.

    Only rare examples give it.

Most are as predictable as the Coasters portrayal.

  • I'm talking about predictablity.

    "Er."

    Try it again.

    "Er."

    And then go "th".

Well done. You've come up with the correct pronunciation of our planet.

"Oith"! What's that? Oh, it's from 'New Yoik'.

Forgive me, but I'm going for a milk (moik) bath.

How did you know I was tired?

  • How dare you?

    You're a pom.

I should have done my homework first.

We'll beat you next week in the cricket.

    Nice to have met you.

  • I believe this was on "Shindig" in October of 1964. It stands out in memory because i had just seen the "Coasters" at a concert at San Francisco's Cow Palace the previous weekend, and it was A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT GROUP! It turned out the group I saw was Cornell Gunter's Coasters, whom had quit and started his own group... His replacement in the "real" Coasters, here, was The Cadillac's Earl "Speedo" Carroll, who sang "Speedo" ("Now, they often call me Speedo, but my real name is Mr. Earl").

  • I have been a fan of the Coasters for many years, and had the extreme good luck and great fortune to meet them live in one of their Las Vegas bookings. They could not haave been nicer, and Cornell Gunther treated us like long lost friends. This was just shortly before he was murdered. The world lost something special then.

  • c'est la version originale de "zorro est arrivé" de henri salvador

  • Det finns inga såna här videon längre4

  • This is my kind a music. If you don't like it, shove your head up your ass.

  • Thank you for this, I haven't seen this group since the days of the Apollo theatre. Good memories of a good group!

  • Why is it terrible if you like it?

  • it's kind of a video with the graphics.

  • This was the inspiration to one of the greatest satires on the "white west", BLAZING SADDLES.

In fact, much of the west was built by Blacks, Chinese, not blonde guys with white hats

  • waldocounty I'm with ya all the way, man

btw, have you noticed that nobody ever dresses up for anything anymore? not even to go to church or to a wedding-if they can get away with it. I actually read in an "etiquette guide for the 21st century" that it is improper to request that guests you intend to invite to your wedding or any event where you yourself will be dressed formally, to dress in any particular way? people wear the same prole cap and jeans and running shoes 24/7. UGH...

  • Compare this--talent, plus witty presentation, plus sharp dressing (respectful of the paying public)--to today's (c)rap, hip-hop, and related trash. Shame.

  • this took actual imagination and thought. Well-said, Waldo!

  • @Waldocounty I love you.

  • @Waldocounty hindsight is 20/20. there was plenty of accepted raunch in old music. There's plenty of DOPE creativity in hip today. relax. why do you care what they're wearing. Does Ali Farka Toure or Ravi shank have to wear cool suits to impress you?

  • This clip is from 1961 or later. Earl Carroll(Cadillac lead), joined group then & is in the middle on the right.

  • Howdy! This song came 1959. I'd checked my sources. But I belive this clip is later. Wonder if we have sumptin' with Smokey Joe's Cafe?/Roland

  • One of my favourite "oldies". Love Lieber and Stoller, love the Coasters....

    I love this.!!

  • It was written by two of the more important song writers in early rock Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. ACcountry fan appears to be right about the Coasters' recording it first(not sure what year) and Stevens in 1969.

  • This is an interesting video.

  • i believe the song was recorded in 1959 because i seem to recall in a Ray Stevens article i read that his version came out "ten years later than the Coasters" and his was released in 1969 and so i'll say The Coasters original recording was in 1959.

  • watch" henri salvador zorro est arrivé!"

  • Exelent Tks!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what year was this?
