  • The 80s killed Led Zeppelin. Plant did some good solo stuff though.

  • What a concert it was indeed!!! Another great re~union at this concert too! Huggs & XXXX to BOB!!!!

  • TUNE THAT STICK MAN!!!

  • @tjrtherocksponge thats why queen were considered the greatest live band at that very event!

  • @tjrtherocksponge ...Queen's performance has been widely regarded as "THE BEST LIVE PERFORMANCE EVER" by many of their peers. Not just at Live Aid. Anywhere, Dude next time you better go try to school somebody else that doesn't know more than you do cause when it comes to Zeppelin and Queen, I know my shit. Jesus! Phil Collins? Really?

  • @shaindaman13 Only reason Queen's performance is held in high regard is because Freddie Mercury DIED. If he was alive today, no one would be talking about it. Most of the US weren't impressed with Queen. In fact, FM (being an ass) refused to tour the US unless they had another Top 10 hit after Another One Bites the Dust which they didn't. Also, most US fans were livid by Queen's forays into disco, funk, techno and synthesizers. The video for I Want to Break Free sealed Queen's coffin.

  • @tjrrockandrollmaster That's not accurate. I remember plainly seeing the other acts react to Queen's performance that day. Why would would you want to say something so negative? Just because most Americans didn't get "I Want to Break Free" doesn't mean it wasn't great. I happened to be one American that was intelligent enough to see the humor in it. Sorry you weren't. It's funny you mention that one because It's one of my favs.

  • @shaindaman13 It's just I remember that US rock stations and the US rock press were talking about Black Sabbath with Ozzy, Led Zeppelin and Crosby Stills Nash and Young's reunions for weeks after this. The Bible Belt's hatred of Hot Space and "I Want to Break Free" video, Freddie and his manager/boyfriend Paul Prenter being jerks to the US rock radio stations that championed Queen from 1974-82 (which led Freddie to refuse to play the States unless they had a Top 10 hit) and MTV killed Queen.

  • @tjrtherocksponge Okay first off, I don't need a history lesson from you. I know more about Zeppelin than you might think. I'm well aware of who played on Plants solo stuff. Cozy Powell also played on Plant's first solo album, Page said himself it was a media stunt for Phil Collins and he didn't know the songs. He just had to be on both stages to get face time or he wouldn't participate. And as far as Queen goes, that's about the most ignorant statement I've ever heard...

  • FUCK Phil Collins! He's a greedy little media whore. He has no business on the Same stage with Led Zeppelin.

  • @shaindaman13 dude Phil was asked by Robert to be on stage..................

  • @browner2252 Robert and Phil stated the same thing. Robert wanted to play Live Aid with Phil and Plant came up with the Collins/Page/Plant performance. However, Bob Geldof and the late Bill Graham thought a Led Zeppelin reunion would be a better idea (Zeppelin are huge in the States, bigger than they are in the UK). I listened to this now and Phil's drums are drowned out by Tony Thompson who was only there in case Phil Collins didn't make it.

  • The greatest rock band ever performing at the greatest rock concert the world'll ever see :)

  • Great.

  • I'm in my forties and I witness them toward the end. Their skills just seemed to be fleeting them little by little.

  • the dude that set page up should be shot

  • @MrZoso78 I know how embarassing....hs guitar was crazy outta tune!

  • This was one of their worse performances

  • @ebraski3 What a voice Page has
