  • hey im going to use a reindeer motor, hope it works!!

  • lol dude i chuckled when you said put your two nuts on there.. and you called me out.

  • Hey, Doc Kreepster.

    Quick question:

    The wood frame is 60" x 50".

Why does it need to be so large?

    Thanks.

  • @brigcastle If I remember right, these are the creators specs. I think it's to give a good movement to the puppet. Check around some of the haunters forums and look up flying crank ghosts to get some other specs. I think the original site is gone now. PHANTASMECHANICS . COM

  • Just sayin' Thanks! Your stuff is great!

  • Any tips for floor mounting the FCG? I would like to run the motor on thr ground rather then having it above like you did on your porch one year.

  • The Rit whitner is it the regular whitner, I can not find one with a blueing agent. Please help

  • OH I had to think hard for about 3 minutes on the frame motor and line configuration. The key is realizing the frame is mounted HORIZONTALLY on the ceiling! Now I have to figure out where im gonna get a pretty girl face for it

  • ??the video of where the motor mounts is very dark where on the frame did you mount it ??

  • @Imbyteme I mounted my motor at the very end of the frame. If you look up 'Flying Crank Ghosts' you can get an idea of how others have done it.

  • Gone Make one looks so Awsome!

  • Fantastic ,and I am going to make one of these. Can you also make smaller crank ghosts the same way using the same size motors ?

  • @allexx123 I imagine you could make a smaller one. Maybe make a shorter crank arm?

  • Dr kreepy

when are you making a face book page? keep up the great work

  • @garrie1969 I don't know. I have a personal page but no DrKreepy page

  • @garrie1969 I think you'd be able to make them smaller.

  • @garrie1969 he has one it's Nick Calhoun

  • LOL "get your mind out of the gutter". Hey thanks for these drkreepy you rock!

  • Hey man! Dig the nothing hidden approach of your video! Too cool! You are helping out a first time animated prop builder here! Many thanks Dr. Kreepy!

  • LOL @ 'get your mind outta the gutter' good tutorial!

  • Dr. Kreepy, thanks for the video. My ghost is flyin' high and it's going to be the center piece of my Halloween display.

  • Awsome!

  • I made this FCG more or less following your instructions everthing turned out perfect , thanks so much !

  • No Prob!

  • Thanks dr.kreepy i just rcently finished mine with a rotisrie motor. Will try to make a video. It looks great from a distance

  • Does the washer have to spin? or can it be glured or you know what i mean

  • tighten the two nuts together but make sure you leave enough space so the big washer can spin, hope this helps.Thx drkreepy1 for all the vids im a huge fan.

  • Thanks!

  • Yeah, it has to spin.

  • Hey Dr Kreepy,

Your tutorials are just awesome! I have one tech question though, is there anyway to control the RPMs on the motor. I noticed that the shiatsu motor that I had laying around seems to be a bit too fast to make the ghost move the way I want. Any advice? Thanks ahead of time for any help!

  • Possibly using a dimmer switch but that will reduce torque!

  • Thx for the advice! I'll give it a shot see if it works out!

  • I want to thank you for taking the time out to give a tutorial for us home haunters! You helped me pull through my snag I was facing on my FCG, and now she's working like magic!

  • Thanks for the comment. Glad I could help. I love doing this stuff!

  • How did you loop the fishing string, with the washer; & eye bolts?

  • What did you power the motor with?

  • The motor is powered with 110v. Just a household 2 prong plug.

  • Maybe $60. But that is only because the motor cost me $50! The other stuff I had lying around already.

  • dr kreepy how much did it cost u to cmplete ur flying crank ghost?

  • So the lenght of the flat stock determines the movement, then how do we know how much fishing line to use at each point?

    FANTASTIC VIDEO !!!

    Thank you...

  • And the length is a trial and error deal. You don't want too much uniformity because you want an odd, unnatural movement!

  • 8th inch flat stock. You can get it at Home Depot or Lowes.

  • what kind of aluminum flat and where do ui get them?

  • 2 thumbs up.....easy project....ima make me a few this halloween

  • thanks for your priceless info

  • Just subscribed to your feed! I saw in your list of videos the "certain ethnic driver!" Must be from Cleveland. Long live Ghoulardi, Big Chuck, Hoolihan and Lil' John!

  • Woo Hoo! I'm from Massillon. (Canton born) Thanks for the comment!

  • u forgot something that is very confusing how is it gonna move thats what i dont get u just tie the fishing lines to those tree hhooks and how is it gonna move??

  • can you make a video showing the rig so we can see it and get an idea of what it looks like. Thanks

  • Please show agian how to mount the motor. I couldn't tell. The vid is so dark. We want to build a FCG this coming year. Everything else was good. Just couldn't see the mounting process. Thanks so much for putting this tutorial out there.

    ~Born2scare~

  • I just moved to a new home. As soon as I get settled in, I'll put up a video showing the motor mount!

  • I need a better picture of the motor mounted to the frame please. The video is awesome otherwise! Thank you Doc!

  • top vids keep em coming Dr Kreepy

  • hey, its kinda hard to see how you have the aluminum attatched to the driveshaft, its pretty dark at that part, can you let me know?

  • The aluminum it attached to the drive by a u-bolt that fits snugly over the drive shaft. You have to drill holes in the stock to recieve the u-bolt

  • Great video. That 1x1 and 2x4 mount is a heck of a lot easier than the L-stock instructions that Doug put together.... But you really skimmed over how to mount the motor to the wood and the vid was pretty dark at that part. Can you elaborate at all?

  • To mount the motor, I put 2 small 1" x 3" x 1/8th" steel stock on the rear of the rig. Drilled holes for the screws. I'll try to throw up a quick vid tomorrow.

  • hey i have a request to dr kreepy can you put sub titles when you say the list of tools and items thanks

  • Wow you did a awesome job explaining this.. Thanks so much for your help!!! I hope I can do it.. Have a happy Halloween!!

  • If you're viewers are looking for a professional version of the Flying Crank Ghost. We have them listed on eBay right now. Look for the Dixrexam version, it's the best FCG on the market!! Thanks, Dixrexam

  • 5:05 "Get your mind out of the gutter" LoL

  • Excellent tutorial. I got to try this.

I love your basement/garage. Looks like a dungeon. We're going to make one of our rooms look like that where we can watch movies and shit. A family room :P

  • Great instructions, thanks I really appreciate you taken the time to do this. Ton of hugs - Mel

  • You have got to come to Ghoulardifest, man.

  • Great video. But how do you attach the batery and what kind of battery would you use?

  • It's actually a motor that has two leads that you tie a plug into.

  • oh ok. Thanks alot for the videos there great, keep em coming.

  • cool

  • Wow! Great effect! I NEED to try this :)
