Suspension was set up right. F-Body's stock all ready have great launch characteristics, but yeah those shocks were the key. I couldn't really tell, but were you running a drag radial?
Yeah most people don't realize the potential of a stock motor as long as the rest of the car is set up right. It was either 5.0 or MM&FF, can't remember, but a few years ago they took a bone stock 5 speed Fox body, swapped the gears and suspension, threw on some bolt-ons and pulled 12.90's. and the front tire.

@32bitcal That only occurs between shifts, 1-2 and 2-3, on a factory programmed PCM. It exists to help save the transmission from premature failure, mainly a thing to keep GM from replacing 4L60E's under warranty. A quick reflash of your PCM will fix that.
On the other hand suspension is the key here to this conversation.
Nice set up. good way to show that susp is more important than power. but yanking the tires isn't really great. though you only lifted it a couple inches so you are good. other wise you are wasting forward momentum lifting em up high in the air.

I do know what it takes. I have two cars. One is a trans am,close to stock weight and the other is a camaro gutted tith twin turbos. Thats not a wheelie. period. it was 1.5 inches. not being an ass,just the video stated something it was not.
if pulling one tire off the ground is a wheelie or not doesnt matter,what matters is the fact that it got those heavy stock wheels and tires off the ground at all.
it says alot about how good the car works,its amazing that it does,good work.
I honestly think your car should get better 1/4 times..... i have only ran mine a few times... but with around equivalent mods (3400stall) i bested at a 11.9 .... Hmmm somethings missin here o.O
@bigguedo do you know how much power it takes to lift a three thousand lbs vehicle? especially one that has all the weight in the front? i'm impressed

Damn the autos with a huge stall is where it is at. I got a 6 speed with gears,lid, and a tune and im only runnin 13 flats.... Hard to launch a stick.
one wheel that is awsome!!!all you got is qa1 struts and stall and i bet you beat most cars street or srip.i had a camaro with a 3600 stall and air lid plus free mods pulling 12.6 as well.srew the stick shift.
I still consider that a wheelie. It has pulled the left wheel 6" and the right one 3" on other days when it left a little more square in one of the dry hops. Its got heads and cam now so it'll be doing some bigger ones.
I wasn't aware that if the car twists and lifts a tire an inch that it's popping a wheelie. OKAY. LMFAO.
