I appreciate the video and the interview pieces. I can't say I have formed opinion of fault based on the video as I can't make out enough detail even under HQ. I hope people set judgement on 1 piece of evidence and wait for an investigation. The loss of life is tragic.
A memorial fund for the children of Darcy Allan Sheppard has been arranged by The Toronto Bike Messenger Association ( TOBMA com ) via paypal at their website or at any TD Canada Trust Branch in the name of Darcy Allan Sheppard and/or the account number 06906676860
A memorial fundraiser will be held Saturday, September 26th 2009 at Sneaky Dee's 431 College Street (College and Bathurst) Doors open at 9pm $10.00 or pay what you can.
Your contributions no matter how small will add up. If there was even one dollar for every video hit.... I will be making a donation myself and challenge you to do the same.
whatever I said earlier on other videos, looking how fast he takes off changes my whole perspective on this. Sheppard could not have bee trying to attack him. The only possible defense for Bryant is that he might have been threatened, but that does not make this alright.
eyewhitnesses can be funny, but what this guy says goes right along with the footage. the car take off too fast, there is no regard for the life of Sheppard.
I am enhancing that footage right now, and have found what looks like Darcy throwing his bag onto the hood of the car as it passes him after he gets up from being run down. Which lines up with what another eyewitness said too.
In fact all the event versions from the start is accounted for in the surveillance sequence, its just that everyone distorted the timeline. Sheppard taking two steps towards the car as it goes by becomes a foot chase, throwing his bag becomes and attack and so on.
If there is enough reason to suspect that Bryant intentionally drove onto the curb to dislodge Sheppard, he should be charged with manslaughter. If you go down to the area where it all occurred, we're not talking about a dragging of a few feet. It's a half city block. Just check out the distance on google maps. If Darcy's hand was on the steering, 180lbs or so of weight on that wheel would have steered it hard left, it wouldn't have gone in a straight line along the curb.
There are 3 separate unaltered continuous audio segments from a Globe and Mail interview with an eyewitness who was at the construction job in the road. However, the interview is cut up into the order of timeline. A chime occurs at each audio edit.
This footage is unaltered except: re-sizing / cropping to fit, brightness contrast adjustment for clarity, cuts between camera angles, and unavoidable artifacts from the video compression algorithms used on the source footages and youtube publishing.
Fucking Bastard Bryant makes me sick appearing as an angel on T.V. today.
Driving into poles for a 100 metres with a guy on your car....obviously you want to hurt him very badly.

OK,
First, this is exactly the kind of comment that as moderator I might just delete. That is a power I have wielded only when essential.
Second, it and similar post is a driveby from an immediately erased user account. Another reason I might chose to delete it.
Thirdly I use it as an example of what to avoid in these forums. I do not wish to censor, tho I will edit honestly ;)

Try the "Improved Footage" there is a few more seconds of the initial part and better quality source footage in that cut.

I knew it!. This video allows it all to make sense.
Poor Mr. Sheppard was shown to be bullied and then killed.
I hope this silences all the people defaming the victim so his family can have justice and he can have peace.
This video shows what I have suspected all along about Mr. Bryant, even what I suspected before this event.

Honestedits - thank you for putting this all together. I think a lot of people will get a new perspective on this when they see this footage.

not if it was self defense (ie he was threatened). if that is the case, than negligence resulting in death.
otherwise, I agree
