@kelvinhbo "hydrogen" bombs is a misnomer. They are still mostly fission; they don't have to be, but they are. D-T fusion generates very energetic neutrons that will readily split U-238. You can amplify the yield of the bomb by just sticking depleted or natural uranium in the casing. This also gives you a ridiculous amount of radioactive fallout, which is very scary(and thus a good thing) but not nearly as dangerous in actuality as blast and heat effects.
Say what you want about the atrocities but face the fact that these bombs stopped the needless deaths of millions of people which would have ensued in a mainland invasion of Japan, not a hundred thousand or so.
