I was just talking to a republican on here and its so shameful on what they support. They are wanting to impeach him, and slander him to no end. I am scared about what will happen if he is elected a second term. I am scared that they will start killing people that don't agree with him.

The whole "palling around with terrorists" thing - was it racist? You're goddamn right it was racist. If not racist, certainly bigoted. I felt that the moment I saw it come out of Sarah Palin's mouth, the bitch. At least, as I see it was meant to appeal to the bigotry of the lowest denominator (of which I now believe Palin to be).
But as always, the problem is calling them out on it, and that's where things have bungled, not by the Obama campaign, but by everyone around it.

John Lewis's statements, for example, which I think have truth to them, only ends up hurting Obama's campaign more than helping it, because it is an overreaction, and the pushback comes, and in the end McCain wins that round.
Think about it, people, why do you think the Obama campaign has largely avoided race all this time? And now the networks and papers want to be talking about racism at the ballots and the Bradley Effect?

Hmm. That's a good one. It is a minefield out there, innit? Honestly - and this is going to sound cheesy, but I think Obama handled it more or less perfectly. He weathered that storm of bullshit from McCain/Palin and stuck to the issues. He just brushed that dirt right off his shoulder, and I loved it. He himself avoided the trap, and trust me, that just makes the Republicans more frustrated when they found that they couldn't drag him into the mud.
What Obama did do was when he thanked McCain regarding the "Arab" incident, he let him know what he rhetoric McCain/Palin had been using that week. But what I really like was his non-reaction to the John Lewis "controversy." McCain was expecting him to apologise or repudiate or some crap, and the Obama camp stood by Lewis, saying that he was "right to condemn some of the hateful rhetoric." Beautiful.

Socialism is a system of centralized planning and distribution. Communism takes everything and redistributes it. Not much difference, hey? Obama has promised all along 'I will do this' and 'I will provide this for you'. His plan is big, big government, taking care of everyone, which makes everyone dependent on the government, which is socialism.

My mother-in-law lives in a small ranch town, and everyone there believe Obama is a Muslim terrorist. My mother-in-law believes he's the anti-Christ. Sean Hannity recent piece about Obama's "links" to extremist scared the shit out of them. Voting for Obama is an act of treason for them. And this is exactly the mind set that the McCain camp has created with the direction they've taken this campaign.
Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh have NOT said anything like 'Obama is a Muslim'. I know, because I listen to them every day. I suggest your mother-in-law read her Bible a bit more studiously, because Obama is not the antiChrist. He also is not fit to lead the U.S.A.
I'm as conservative as a person can be, and I don't blame Obama for every slam against McCain and Palin. Be smart, wake up, and don't blame them for all the junk people say about Obama. Obama is making his own problems.
Second, I am not a member of any political party. I am a conservative, who at the moment isn't represented by Republicans, and CERTAINLY not by Democrats in general.
Ever heard of conservatives? You know...personal freedom...smaller government...believes in the Constitution the way it reads, not by some liberal's interpretation...
How about checking out "Barack Obama & Friends Sean Hannity Special" here on you tube and then tell me what Hannity is trying to get his veiwers to believe. And you think that Palin only meant that Obama has poor judgment when she said he was "Palling around with terrorist", and that in no way she was trying to scare people to think Obama might be a terrorist too? Everyone knows what's going on. McCain's camp is deliberately trying to scare voters, and it's shameful.
Obama HAS 'palled around' with terrorists. Ayers helped him launch his political career, and donated millions of dollars to him. There's no implication needed by Gov. Palin or anyone else.
As far as scare tactics are concerned, I've watched MANY Obama commercials trying to scare voters out of voting for McCain, because 'he's going to raise your taxes', just like Obama's going to do. So it's word against word, and I haven't yet heard Obama say anything worthy of believing.
The implication isn't that he knows the guy. The implication is "palling". She was most defiantly trying to imply something sinister with that comment. That's not something you say to question judgment. "Palling" imply deliberate association. And that's what she wanted the people to believe. No one's dumb enough to think she just said it just to be saying. "Hey guy's he knows terrorist. It's not important, but thought you needed to know that. Don't read anything into that." Come on!

I think there will be a backlash if Obama loses. Simply because people's expectations are so high and for a large percentage of the nation- the choice is so clear, given the context of the last eight years.
If Obama loses, you will have once apathetic people- especially the youth- uniting in rage. It will cause a true split in the nation and one that will be out of McCains hands to heal. Especially in light of the campaign he has run.

Hmm. That's a good one. It is a minefield out there, innit? Honestly - and this is going to sound cheesy, but I think Obama handled it more or less perfectly. He weathered that storm of bullshit from McCain/Palin and stuck to the issues. He just brushed that dirt right off his shoulder, and I loved it. He himself avoided the trap, and trust me, that just makes the Republicans more frustrated when they found that they couldn't drag him into the mud.

What Obama did do was when he thanked McCain regarding the "Arab" incident, he let him know what he rhetoric McCain/Palin had been using that week. But what I really like was his non-reaction to the John Lewis "controversy." McCain was expecting him to apologise or repudiate or some crap, and the Obama camp stood by Lewis, saying that he was "right to condemn some of the hateful rhetoric." Beautiful.
Now, that's cleverness - that's subtlety.

It doesn't matter what happens at an Obama rally, the liberal in-the-tank media would ignore it, cover it up, or Obama would come out with another in a long line of his "what I meant to say was.." lies.
Yes, the left fell into its own race trap. Not deep enough, but they fell in. And it's WAY past time.
P.S.--I still think those people were liberal plants to make McCain look bad. The left has pulled lots dirtier tricks on conservatives. But oh well.

This is indicative of their contagious impotence. They have nothing left. Their campaign has "PETERED OUT" just before the climax. So they will resort to what they are sure their base will respond to. The sublimation of fear and prejudice. Better to tap into those energies than to allow people to see just how out of touch and out of date they really are. But this serves to expose what LIES beneath that false nice guy image he struggles to sell. He really is no kind of hero.

So why the heck would you want to make burning a piece of fabric with the US flag printed on it a crime?.... Lets say a man gets arrested, driven to the precinct, booked and sent through the courts. Gets a year in prison, you realize how much tax payers money that all costs?.... To keep a man in prison for just a year is around 50 thousand tax payers dollars.
A free country shouldn't have laws like that.

Obama went to black churches, whose support he needed and didn't have yet, and preached about accepting homosexuality and not shunning AIDS victims, both very unpopular positions. He's got the wisdom and the guts to preach it.

He won't come out and admit he's a socialist, but the programs he's proposing reveal the truth to those who know the dangers of such a system of government. Ask Russia and the other countries where socialism has failed miserably.

You don't know what socialism is; for now we need someone who can help the middle class that is getting crushed and I don't see any problem with the rich paying more taxes nor many other people. The Russian system is communism and takes away the property or money a person already owns, and spreads it; it is different. You need alot of classes.

Socialism is a system of centralized planning and distribution. Communism takes everything and redistributes it. Not much difference, hey? Obama has promised all along 'I will do this' and 'I will provide this for you'. His plan is big, big government, taking care of everyone, which makes everyone dependent on the government, which is socialism.

Obama is promising that 95% of Americans will get a tax break from his plan. That's interesting, given that 45% of Americans already pay NO taxes. Check it out. He is doing what he's done all along; he says what is expedient for the moment, to get votes, and to win people's confidence. Obviously, he's fooled you.
If he gets elected, and you begin to feel like a plucked chicken, don't come crying to those who warned you. By then, we'll be stuck with him.

And if you're so concerned about ACORN, please do some research, specifically in 2006 when McCain attended a convention for the Florida chapter of ACORN. Also do some research about McCain's connections to G. Gordon Liddy. If you want to talk about dirt, there's a ton of it on McCain. The difference is that Obama's able to run on the issues while McCain has to run on a smear and hate campaign.

They've painted Obama not just someone who's direction for this country is misguided, but as someone who will deliberately try to hurt this country. Sean Hannity recent piece about Obama's "links" to extremist scared the shit out of them. Voting for Obama is an act of treason for them. And you think that Palin only meant that Obama has poor judgment when she said he was "Palling around with terrorist", and that in no way she was trying to scare people to think Obama might be a terrorist too? Obama HAS 'palled around' with terrorists. Ayers helped him launch his political career, and donated millions of dollars to him. There's no implication needed by Gov. Palin or anyone else.
As far as scare tactics are concerned, I've watched MANY Obama commercials trying to scare voters out of voting for McCain, because 'he's going to raise your taxes', just like Obama's going to do. So it's word against word, and I haven't yet heard Obama say anything worthy of believing.

That's not something you say to question judgment. "Palling" imply deliberate association. And that's what she wanted the people to believe.
