Goodyear Rubber. Eagle GT ~vs~ The Blimp - Garage419

Just got new Eagle GT's to replace Falken ZE-912's on my VW VR6 GTI. The tires seem to ride harsher with less tracking ability than my smoother riding Falkens. The car feels completely different now, and it's less fun to drive. I don't think I made the right choice, but I have to live with these for a while now. Please post your experiences with the Eagle GT. Would be curious to read. Thank you.

Hey Matt, for next year you should have a running segment, sort of a track car on a budget. Buy a cheap car, like an older BMW 325IS (E30, E36) or something, and set it up for track day. Put new springs on it, intake, etc., and take it out for some laps on G419's dime. Then instead of a go-kart race (karts are cool tho), you could put on an autocross event or something.

that wasn't an objective test. if it were, the driver shouldn't be told ahead of time which tires are on which car then give his opinions at the end the test as to which handles the best.

you guys should do your own tire comparison test. including those goodyears. put them up against some pirellis , potenza, mirada,toyo, yokohama, continental the whole lot! idk waht your budget is so idk if u guys can afford it. but if you cud it wud be awesome. you cud test things like differences in turning Gs on the skid pad, autocross times, 0-60 times, braking distance,best for drifting lol and to end the show, which ones take the longest doing a burnout tied down b4 POP!

lol 6:12, that bitch has a eclipse in dash TV in it. 245/35/17zr Continental contisports on the rear of my mr2, they are the most grip i've had on this car in the 7-8yrs i've owned it. but ofcourse i ran out of money and was forced to be cheapass Wanlis for the front but all in all, i've had worse on the front, they are really not that bad if you factor in the cheap price.

look, goodyear set up the test, so it's not surprising that their new tire worked the best against the other two tires. actually, on the dry traction surface, the Black car handled the best, but in the wet, the new tire was better.
